  1. I just purchased a gen Omega Speedmaster reduced on ebay (obviously not from an authorized dealer). The auction was for the watch only and no paperwork. I contacted omega and verified that the serial number was legit. Can anyone tell me if it is possible to get the watch serviced from Omega and obtain a warranty card even though I didn't purchase it from an authorized dealer? Are they not going to help me at all because it was obtained on ebay from who knows where? The watch was made between 1993-1995 so its old and used.... What are my options?

  2. Yeah, these do look kinda odd though... some of them have "so called" international warrenties with chinese print on them.

I would like to get one of these for a couple hundred...

Does anyone know if theres a way to check Omega serial numbers somehow?

If I take the watch to an AD and find out its a fake, is it a hassle getting my money back from ebay/paypal?

  3. They look genuine. You probably noticed that these all (or at least the ones I checked) are the "reduced" versions. i.e smaller. The best way to notice that is to see from the running seconds at '3 subdial.

I'm more of a rolex guy but.....

are the reduced version of these watches in used condtions value at around $800?

  4. I know I should have posted this in the acution scam section but you guys gotta see this....

If you go on ebay and search 3510.50 (heres the link for the lazy: ebay Search)... Your gonna see a crapload of those "reduced" omega speedmasters... Heres where it gets wierd... all 20 of those results are from the same seller jmryshi (ebay Link).... Each of these auctions are for the same model, but not one single picture is duplicated. This guy have 2000+ good feedback and sells a crapload of other watches. If this guy is not selling fakes how has ebay not caught on to this.... Can you omega experts tell me if hes legit or not?

These watches are selling for < $1000... Does that sound about right?

  5. So you guys are saying that even the power sellers from the states that are describing them as 100% genuine don't even know that they are selling fakes? I want to buy a used gen on ebay but I can't say im too experienced in the auction field.... You guys think I should stay clear?

  6. When I look for watches on ebay, it upsets me to see watches being sold from Hong Kong, China, or anywhere in Asia. Those being sold espically from people who have < 10 feedback rating.

As soon as I see watches that arn't being sold in the states (or any respectable european countries), I pass them off as a 90% chance of being a fake. What do you ebay experts think about this?

  7. Sorry if this has been already asked but...

I'm down to two options for payment of a watch...

    Either moneybookers or Western Union...

Since moneybookers doesnt allow the uploading of funds over $300 (i need $350) I'm probably going to go with Western Union....

Is this a safe idea? I've never used Western Union but I also don't want to get in trouble with the authorities because I believe you have to surrender your ID to send money to foriegn countries...

Has anyone had any experience with this? Do you guys normally pay online or at a booth? Which is safer?

I just feel a little insecure when it comes to exposing my identity to these guys.

  8. There are two employees at my work which both have sea-dwellers with a flat crystal. I'm no expert on the SDs but they also both have lug holes drilled in.... Could these be reps, or what year are we looking at here?? I know that the modern SDs don't have lug holes, but the vintage ones do... Are the vintage ones with the lugs even affordable to own? (< $10,000)

  9. This thread is a followup to the topic posted here.

This thread will be dedicated to a MBW group buy that TTK has agreed to under the following conditions:

    1. TTK is going to act as a 'proxy' buyer for all members.

    2. TTK will carefully negotiate with the "MBW supplier" and NOT the shop.

    3. TTK will inspect each item carefully to his standards (internal inspection will not be an option).

    4. The watches will cost ~$350 (shipping included) and will ship EMS.

    5. Upon shipping the watch you the recipient will receive full details which include date of ship, EMS tracking number, and photograph of the receipt.

    6. Once an item is out of TTK's hands (meaning its shipped) it is also out of his responsiblity. If it is taken by foreign customs, then tough luck. He will negotiate with you in a flexable attitude towards the replacement, but will assume no overall liability.

    7. The same rule applies for local customs as well.

    8. TTK will expedite shipping to the best of his ability.

    9. A minimum of 25 MBWs must be requested for TTK to go ahead with the group buy.

    10. Payment options can be found in TTK's signature.

Please do not post here to complain about anything or be any kind of bother. If you REALLY must do that, use this thread.

TTK will be getting these watches from "the MBW source". Be aware that he is doing this out of profit and personal gain.

I am in this for no gain. I have no affiliation with TTK.... my only satisfaction is to know that im helping out the forum.

As far as which MBW watches he can get... the sky is the limit. If theres an MBW for it, he can get it.

If you do not know what an MBW is, use the search button before you know what you're getting into.

I cannot answer any questions in PM. Please use this this topic to post your questions.

You must be of "some" status here in order to request an MBW

Here is how i suggest we do this

If you have any questions about this group buy post to this thread. TTK will gladly answer any questions.

If you want to put in an order, PM me with the watch(s) and quantities and ill add your name to the list. Once we have over 50 people, I'll post last call and give it another week. After that I will give the list to TTK and let him do his thing.

I'll say this again... If you want to put in an order, PM me with the watch(s) and quantities and ill add your name to the list.

Putting a post on this forum will not put your name on the list.

Please watch this post for updates...

    2/16/07

Update: There are currently ~14 orders thus far.

Heres how I decided we should do this....

On March 16th (one month from today) I will pm every individual member that made an order and verify exactly what they wanted. I will do this from March 16-March 18th. At that point, if you didn't receive a PM then you're not on the list (meaning you better PM me again). Ill talk about these details in the coming month.

  10. Hey beemer, so you want to run the group buy then?

Have you talked with ttk yet?

I am currently in negotiations with TTK... What I will do is create a newly dedicated thread so we can get an "actual" tally of who wants in or out. This thread obviously went to [censored] so im going to make an official one as soon as TTK gets back to me.

Details will be explained then. I hope this works.

  11. @piratedzeus....( ?).......organising a group buy such as this is never gonna be easy.....there are headaches every step of the way.....let's look at some of the logistics of this....!

I was simply trying to point........as was Puggy...the logistics of phoning up a Thai guy in a stall at MBK and asking to accept approx 12,000 dollars to supply 50 different vintage MBW watches.......the guy barely knows what a DRSD is....you have to pick out the one you want ....then you have to negotiate with him over the packaging.....shipping....writing out in English....all the EMS slips......for 7500 baht....the price he sells them at every day.....that ain't gonna happen.....!

I've known the guy for 3 years.....and believe me if I stump up at his stall and say...'can I have 3x DRSD's and a couple of Great Whites.....he looks at me as tho' I have 7 heads.....and then throws a hissy fit.......saying..."no hab.....no hab.....[censored] bak...3 days".....and you guys think they can do it all from 10,000 miles away.......if it was that easy......I'd have them plastered all over my Dealer Section......!

You guys get yourselves together.......decide if you can get up some reasonable numbers........if you can......I'll speak to the source.....not the shop......and figure out if he can cut the deal that I outlined.......!

Just so everyone is clear in their mind.........I am not saying that I will do it......I'm saying I'll explore the situation.......and lastly just so everyone is as clear in their mind as I am in mine.......I WILL BE DOING THIS FOR PROFIT......and not out of altruism......and be aware that unless YOU jump on a plane to BK.......YOU will not get a vintage MBW watch for 7500 baht........!

Ok... well if TTK will do them for $350 shipped then im in... as he said, minimum 50 and he'll "look into it"

I can try to organize this at the best of my abillity. If anyone is interested in what TTK has to offer send me a pm, and ill tally up the numbers and submit them to TTK to see what we can accomplish here.
