MD2020 :
I'd say........ Screw the lot of the ones that require Baby sitting. You take care of your family.
Any real watch smith, gun smith, knife smith, metal worker, mineral worker, precious stone worker, fabricator, ........ "TRADESMAN" would not put up with a customer who can't wait. Excellence takes time.
I've had guns refinished. Cars restored. Rings made. Houses built and Boats built. Guess what ???!!!! I waited. Patiently. Even when there was a hundred thousand dollars or more put up front.
I once waited 13 months for a simple iron fabricated front door to be made. Iron is everywhere. It's cheap. But it's the talent and workmanship that goes into it.
You've got the market cornered. No one on this entire forum can hold a candle to your knowledge and talents. They can wait. There will always be business, and the 17 cry baby's certainly aren't going to break the bank. They'll be here maybe another year or two and then Vanish.
I've said this before, if you are truly concerned about a few hundred dollars, you're in the wrong hobby. Man up or maybe you should try collecting Fast food toy watches that you get with your kids meals.
You're wearing a Rolex. A PAM. An AP. A UN. A Vacheron Constatine or an Omega. Some of you can afford the Gens. Some of you cannot. You're wearing a Gentleman's watch. Act like one.
I can wait for a long time for a "tradesman" IF I know he's reliable, professional and have courtesy & respect for his customers.

THANKS SSTEEL! I've learnt so much from your interim review thread

Looks really good guys, I already got in touch with Thomas for 1.
I am now considered worthy (with 3 total feedbacks on a watch forum)
How's the lume on the watch, does the glow last long?
Don't think I need to send it for lume mod, as I have heard it's really really good out of the box? - and just get a gen insert?
-
Left is rep, right is gen?
Datewheel looks thicker on rep?

MD2020 is another choice for you, he is active in this forum (lookup his username), located in US.
He can definitely service your watch (A2892) and his prices are reasonable.

Most Asians starts 50% below the asking price........I guess that tells you that most of the buyers here are Asians??????
And where did you experience that? In a flea market? Not sure why you single out a race, but it can be anyone from any background

I'm in too, but for Mark XVI crown and tube...
-
I m looking for the same parts for my Mark XVI, care to share where are you getting these?
Thanks!

This may have been the reason this topic was started, enjoy.
It might help if you drove an E class Mercedes....

I don't have a 3717, but here's a pic of my Mark XVI with gen dial and hands:
I really didn't like the rep dial and hands' lumed portion as its off white in color.
The lume on gen is not that great, as it doesn't look like it will last for hours.
The watch is on its way to me from Vac after assembly, AR, Waterproofing and regulating.
I didn't ask Vac to lume to preserve the white color, as 99% of the time I will be seeing it during normal times, not during 'lume torch' sessions...

We are delighted with your support and still being around!

Take care Vac.

I did request a different watch when my first qc showed noticeable tilt. The second watch was better but not perfect. I accepted the 2nd one.
I bought from pure time.

Vac (vaclume@gmail.com) does a great relume job. To me, a good AR coating would be a better investment to enhance your watch. Vac is based in Florida.

You can just offer to franken his and say: I can make it a even better watch!

I will post the comparison pics once the watch is returned from Vac (together with the rep dial).
I've already snap the pics of the gen dial and will merge the pics side by side (rep vs gen), using the same camera white balance, shutter speed, lighting.

Yes Dave, i have the same opinion too.
The hands and 3,6,9 and 12 are off white in color and these are the lume portions. The gen has the same shade of white across its dial and hands.
The wordings on the gen dial is also a stronger and more pronounced white.

290 euros, inclusive of shipping
You can buy another good rep with that kind of money

I've received the gen dial and hands today from Hugo.
Planned on sending it and the watch to one of the modders (goin or vac) to get it assembled, as well as waterproofing and movement servicing and maybe regulating it too.
Was wondering any of you did any mod on the AR? What about getting it relumed?
Both of this will cost a bomb, and not sure if any of you did it and felt it was worth it? The watch currently already has some ar coating and lume...
Thanks in advance for your thoughts or inputs!

Hello all, does this watch has a 20mm strap size? What about buckle size?
-
Are you sure it's tilted and not the camera angle? Have you tried that with a gen pic? Either way I'm excited!
Yes, pretty sure. Anyway, it's not really a big deal.
The weight of this watch is very solid
MD2020 Who is dealing with him, I'm worried now!
