  1. MD2020 :

I'd say........ Screw the lot of the ones that require Baby sitting. You take care of your family.

Any real watch smith, gun smith, knife smith, metal worker, mineral worker, precious stone worker, fabricator, ........ "TRADESMAN" would not put up with a customer who can't wait. Excellence takes time.

I've had guns refinished. Cars restored. Rings made. Houses built and Boats built. Guess what ???!!!! I waited. Patiently. Even when there was a hundred thousand dollars or more put up front.

I once waited 13 months for a simple iron fabricated front door to be made. Iron is everywhere. It's cheap. But it's the talent and workmanship that goes into it.

You've got the market cornered. No one on this entire forum can hold a candle to your knowledge and talents. They can wait. There will always be business, and the 17 cry baby's certainly aren't going to break the bank. They'll be here maybe another year or two and then Vanish.

I've said this before, if you are truly concerned about a few hundred dollars, you're in the wrong hobby. Man up or maybe you should try collecting Fast food toy watches that you get with your kids meals.

You're wearing a Rolex. A PAM. An AP. A UN. A Vacheron Constatine or an Omega. Some of you can afford the Gens. Some of you cannot. You're wearing a Gentleman's watch. Act like one.

I can wait for a long time for a "tradesman" IF I know he's reliable, professional and have courtesy & respect for his customers.

  2. Looks really good guys, I already got in touch with Thomas for 1.

I am now considered worthy (with 3 total feedbacks on a watch forum) :)

How's the lume on the watch, does the glow last long?

Don't think I need to send it for lume mod, as I have heard it's really really good out of the box? - and just get a gen insert?

  3. I don't have a 3717, but here's a pic of my Mark XVI with gen dial and hands:

I really didn't like the rep dial and hands' lumed portion as its off white in color.

The lume on gen is not that great, as it doesn't look like it will last for hours.

The watch is on its way to me from Vac after assembly, AR, Waterproofing and regulating.

I didn't ask Vac to lume to preserve the white color, as 99% of the time I will be seeing it during normal times, not during 'lume torch' sessions...

  4. I've received the gen dial and hands today from Hugo.

Planned on sending it and the watch to one of the modders (goin or vac) to get it assembled, as well as waterproofing and movement servicing and maybe regulating it too.

Was wondering any of you did any mod on the AR? What about getting it relumed?

Both of this will cost a bomb, and not sure if any of you did it and felt it was worth it? The watch currently already has some ar coating and lume...

Thanks in advance for your thoughts or inputs!
