  1. LOL, apart from me, my watches, bikes, cars, that *is* my family!
  2. Suggestions that pop up:- Sinn U-Boat IWC Big Pilot 47mm Pams (or bigger) And I know you're not looking for a watch with a classic look, but some of the classic looks do have that "big face" simplicity, the face looks bigger as they haven't got thick bezels, oversized crowns or guards, etc.
  3. I'll apologise for mine in advance. No, no, not pubes. Cat hair... you leave your photo tent on the floor for a couple of hours and what does he do? Goes and explores and then has a sleep in there!
  4. Plus the pendulum was introduced in 2010. So if it's 30 years old it's been sent back in time by 27 years!
  5. I did a lot of reading on Watch-u-Seek and found that these three EBay sellers are recommended:- http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/jmryshi US based, buys used watches from Japan. http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/kaberui Japan based. http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/sabashioyakiz1 Japan based. Apparently the Japanese folks like decent, good watches and also like to change them frequently, hence the number of good quality used watches that come from Japan. I haven't (yet) used any of these three, but do a search on WUS for their names to see what others think of them.
  6. On some movements it's OK. Problem is which ones? I don't know, and I don't think the answer is a simple one, so far easier to just treat them all the same way. The other thing to always remember to do is to never, ever, press 'Chrono Reset' when the chrono is running (on a 775x). Always stop and then reset.
  7. Thread lock. It comes in all sorts of varieties, from "holds like a weld for the rest of time", to "gently holds", and the way of removing it varies as well, from applying heat breaks it down, to a solution you drop into the threads that dissolves it, and of course the ordinary stuff that just needs a bit of muscle to break it. Don't use stuff too strong unless you never want it to come to bits. http://www.loctite.co.uk/threadlocking-4476.htm
  8. I saw somewhere cuff links made from tourbys. I think tourby cages, cofflinks made out of whole tourby movements would be rather big. Now those won't be cheap!
  9. Looks great! In the top pic, the leftmost silver gear, is it missing two teeth? And is it supposed to be missing two teeth?
  10. I bought a pair off someone on here who makes them, £30 a pair IIRC. Nothing special about the movements, and I think the cuff toggles (or whatever they're called) were silver plated. They'd have to use outstanding movements to be £100 worth but knowing AJ they will be
  11. Oh baby it's a sex bomb! Oh, sorry its a time bomb! (According to some )
  12. I have a replica watch here. It's that close to gen it cost me 95% of the price of a gen to build. If you want, I'll let you have it for 75% the gen price! PP Gift or used bank notes
  13. They appear to be aiming for the very end seller who's trying to pass them off as genuine, which I've got no problem with them being taken down.
  14. " Notes on duty & taxes rates Butt Plug has an import duty rate of 4.5%, subject to minimum of €0.30 per piece, subject to maximum of €0.80 per piece and VAT rate of 20%. Import Authorization may be required. Duty result for item Butt Plug is nil because the total amount of duty payable for this item is less than £9.00 "
  15. Oh I'm sick of their little cards or letters, "You need to pay BLOOD, SWEAT and TEARS cause the fat cat wants a new solid gold butt plug!" I wonder if there's any EU country where they don't check US mail as much as the UK? Just need a friend there then who can ship to the UK
  16. You know in your Interests you put down "Collecting Ectsacy pills"? Are a few of em missing?
  17. Wow, very much appreciated AJ! When my little Smiths is finished I'll take you up as you can post both in the same package (should get that posted sometime this week - trying to find something to put the movement in, I think the original case is the best thing!)
  18. Good point Pete. Hopefully it'll all be OK. Got this on order from Angus, an Armida coming from the US from M2M sales, it's a gen so shouldn't be a problem (bet that'll get customs duties), the PP I ordered from Andrew came in a few days, and my finished PO coming from Rolexman. That'll be in until the new year! And hopefully for many months into 2014! I think the pearl that's in the bezel in the pics Angus has posted looks good, so the one I get will be a spare.
  19. Pete, the order is upside down, most recent at the top. Seems to have been posted in the UK, and has arrived in France. I wouldn't worry until another couple of weeks are up. Nearly all postal services won't investigate until 28 days have passed.
  20. Got a link to this news? Be interesting to read.
  21. I've thought the same as Pete (about the watch ) All case and the He release valve is a bit garish. If I find one going dirt cheap, maybe one that needs a little bit of work, I'll bite just to try one and see, or if someone brings one to a UK GTG that I go to I'll try it.
  22. Anyone who is in the first pre-order batch will be shipped a replacement pearl when they update them. Hopefully he'll be in a positiion to start shipping the first batch end of 2nd week in December, the 15th or thereabouts.
  23. Jesus H Christ, here's a page from that Chinese Tungsten mining company that highlights the great properties tungsten has when making FAKE GOLD coins and bars:- http://www.tungsten-alloy.com/en/alloy11.htm Talk about taking the pee! "It is necessary to tell that tungsten gold-plated would not work for several reasons but a coin with a tungsten center and gold all around tungsten alloy jewelry could not be detected as counterfeit by density measurement alone."
