  1. I think it's just cultural differences Russ. The dealers communicate when they have something to say, and think nothing of it when nothing happens for weeks / months and they don't communicate. As to stuff lost in the post, unless we're happy paying extra for tracked postage with expensive shippers like DHL / UPS, I don't see what the dealers can do apart from wait a few weeks (6 or so) to make sure it isn't just held up somewhere, and then proceed. These things still bug me, my latest rep purchase took ages but got here in the end.
  2. http://www.rwgforum.net/forum/274-torobravo/ Ok, so it hasn't got the 's' at the end, but I would assume it's the same person / people.
  3. I've sent you a PM, cheers Sixx Richard
  4. For me, it's not a case of "expecting" a reply, that would make me just as rude as someone else possibly being rude! The very fact that some don't (reply) makes the times when someone does better It's like saying "please" and "thank you", letting another car out of a junction when you're not in a hurry. I don't expect anyone to do it, but it makes my life a tiny, tiny bit better every time something like this happens. And I know that some people are in a hurry, or getting bombarded with PMs / emails, or just having a bad day, or hundreds of other reasons. And conversely when you've had a bad day and no one is being kind, it just makes your day a tiny, tiny bit worse. And if they all mount up, it can (and obviously does) annoy me to a point where I blow off a bit of steam on RWG A while ago I read a study where they found out that how you feel at the end of the day is mostly determined by all these little tiny, tiny things. Not the big success, or the big flops, but the things we wouldn't even consider would make a difference. I guess I'm turning into my parents saying "Don't forget to say Please!!" Peace and love, Richard
  5. I think so, yes. Looking at it right now in overcast daylight, it seems fine, but other times in different light, cloudy. I've looked at the gen and those are lovely and crystal clear to the extent you think they're not even there. (and the other 15 or so rep/gen watches I have are not as cloudy as this one is)
  6. Hi all, I received my new Carrera 16 DLC from Joshua yesterday. Absolutely lovely watch, good weight, good strap, dial is great. The only thing I have noticed is that the crystal is slightly milky, as if the air trapped in there is foggy / smokey. Now, assuming the person who put the back on the watch at the end of the "production line" wasn't having a crafty ciggy at the time, I'm guessing it's the AR that's not all that good. Has anyone come across this before? Is it the AR? If it is I'll send if off to get properly double ARd and the movement serviced, as it's definitely a keeper
  7. Feel the Force Luke, come over to the dark side...
  8. I'm glad to see a lot of people who'd take a few seconds to reply. Takes hardly any time and makes the world a tiny bit of a better place to live in. And yes, I know the seller said CONUS, which is why I was very polite and asked if he would consider selling to the UK. Hey ho, takes all types Richard
  9. Come and join the PVD club, you know you want too
  10. Rep Geek sales. Selling to CONUS, fine, thinks me, I'll send a PM just testing the water, I ask if they're willing to sell to the UK. If it was me that received a PM like that and I only wanted to sell CONUS, fine, no problem, I'd reply back saying "Sorry, selling CONUS only.". I wouldn't ignore it. And ignore a post in the FS thread. Bloody kids.
  11. Replied to a thread using TapaTalk. I definitely only pressed "Send" (or whatever it's called) once, my post was posted twice. I've seen loads of duplicate / triplicate replies.
  12. Not a scammer at all. Tell the buyer he's refused perfectly good, and extremely generous offers of recompense, and so that's it. Offers withdrawn and he can go and play leapfrog on the freeway. Report what to VISA? "hello, I bought an illegal replica watch which broke 4 months after I got it and I want you to get my money back for me"? They're going to fall of their chairs laughing! Richard
  13. Err, the user who said their CC cancelled the payment isn't the OP Hope the OP gets a half decent rep from their order. Richard
  14. And I'm waiting for one to come up for sale with yellow hands (and not an end of line sale one) Richard
  15. Got a nice sterile Radiomir from Andy with an incredibly comfy suede strap on it. I've got another Pam now and another on the way and so want to put the same straps on em, but Andy got this strap bundled in with another and so doesn't know where it came from originally. This is the puppy, anyone recognise it? Thanks! Richard
  16. Not problems in relation to the email notification, but I've had problems with PMs. Quoting a PM in my reply sometimes the new text I add is lost. Same for the person replying to me. Replying without using "quote" seems to work fine. Richard
  17. Thats cool. I'd love to see how they made it. Looks like they extended the hour pin to the back of the watch so it's secured by the hour pin and the movement is free to rotate once per day. C'mon franken makers! Reproduce this with a normal dial with roman numerals. (How you'd wind it, err...!)
  18. "First of all I did read up" So you will have noticed there is a whole sub-forum filled with nothing but reviews of purchases made from this dealer? And you then think it's a good idea asking if anyone has bought anything? Why? The dealers reviews section would be completely empty in that case! I'd recommend you just have fun reading bits and bobs from all the forums, there's loads of them, some specific to particular watches, some general, some for the dealers, including Perfect Clones, all containing good and interesting information. A good way to see the watches is keep coming back and looking at the "what I'm wearing today" threads in General.
  19. I was thinking about maybe getting the RG model of this. The main problems I see is that finding anyone to work / service one of these is difficult from what I have read, so difficult faults / problems means you've as good as lost your money. Am I right in thinking the movements on these are assembled by the same places and have minimal QC and really need serviced / cleaning / lubing as soon as you get them? You would think for $800 they would at least give them a proper service from new! I suppose I'm trying to find out how reliable they are? How long have other buyers kept them for? How many problems have people had with them?
  20. $300 for a pair of tweezers?!!!? Good god man, I hope she at least cooked you a good meal and poured a nice drink before she left at 2am in the morning for that much! And, my friend, don't worry, we all have problems from time to time. Just because you need a pair of tweezers to find it doesn't make you any less of a man! Seriously that is a huge amount of money for tweezers. I know a lot of mechanics that swear by Snap-On tools which are extremely expensive, when I query what it is about them, it turns out it's the genuine lifetime no questions warranty that makes the cost worth it. Ever thought of setting up a rep tweezer business?
  21. Another one arrived in the post today, this one is that lightweight, it's not even skin and bones, just a skeleton:- Richard
  22. So do we all I suppose the only way of doing it is finding someone who you can trust to hold a stock of maybe 3 kits + a few of the most popular tools. Shipping them all in bulk in one go should reduce the price per kit for the end buyer to about 1/3rd. Restocking could be a problem, the "drop shipper" (can't think of a better name) would have to be sent a bulk order, but what to put in it might be a headache. Or the drop shipper could pay up front and just do it out of their good nature, relying on the saved costs on shipping to sell the kits / tools. I'm just about to do the latter with some X10 booster kits (electronic home automation stuff). Only going to get 3 kits to start with to see how we'll they sell, they're a fortune to buy via the one place in the UK that imports them. I'm in the UK so a good jump point for the whole of the EU, but I know I'm new here and I wouldn't trust me if the positions were swapped Richard
  23. Glad you're happy with it. I've had no reply yet from Toro, no reply from a query sent weeks ago to pure time, and Joshua has gone quiet again after I rejected the QC pics of the first Tag. I have all the best luck Richard
  24. It's a rep. The dealers website will have loads of pictures showing the watch from all angles, so you can see things like the date wheel font before you order it. If the dealers website doesn't have decent pics, post the web link for us to see as I'm curious in that case. I'm not getting at you personally, but, for a minute imagine we've swapped places. I'm a newbie who's come along, wanting to buy my first rep. I've gone to a TDs website, looked at the watches, looked at the pics, compared the prices, decided what I like and ordered it. Then when I get the watch I notice that the DW font is not 100% accurate to the gen. There's pictures showing exactly what the DW font looks like on the website, so why didn't I see the problem then? Either I did see it and hoped it would look better in real life, or I didn't look closely at the pics, or I didn't look at them at all. Either way, it's my problem for not looking properly. QC pics are for comparing to the website pictures and spotting errors in that particular rep watch when compared to the "ideal sample" they used to take the website pics. No one can realistically compare a $350 rep watch to a $5000 ~ $40000 genuine watch, that's like expecting a gen $20000 car to be identical to a $350 "replica" kit car, ain't never going to happen.
  25. And the long, slippery slope to rep-addiction begins Have fun on the ride!
