  1. ...not my style but fine work. i tried out something too. pure aluminium. cooked up and polished. interesting surface i think.

dial and hands are lumed with C1 and C3.

what do you think of my "artwork" ? i call it interstellar... ;-)

black dials are beautiful but a little bit boring too.

  2. "Watchlovers - they love gens and reps because they respect the style, quality and craftmanship of both in relation to their value."

    thats it. namor wrote this.

that is the great difference between us and the most people who wear "cheap fakes" to impress someone else. those guys have a lot in common with conceited gen holders... (or is "hoity-toity" the right word ? almost a funny word) they even don´t know how their watch works.

a friend of mine is watchmaker. he really frets about customers with high graded mechanical watches and chrongraphs who don´t even know what they can do with their watch. he often had advised a quartz watch to someone like that...

in germany we call this "perlen vor die säue". in free translation it means something like "to throw pearls before swine"...

so its a decision for quality and style and not for reputation. my blackseal would be the same to me either when there are no engravings on it.

so lets build up our own watch. the perfect watch ;-)

has anyone a concept how this watch should look ?

  3. does anyone know who this seller is ? perhaps he one from here ...

the cases and bracelets are cheap, but what do you think, are they accurate enough to build up a watch ?

to me they seem to be ok.

the sellers ebay name is "ticinowatchco", the article numbers are: 200083487536 and 200073601016

  4. the problem is solved...

it has been a drop too much of oil. it came from somewhere and took a rest on the hairspring. ;-)

one could see without a glass that the spring didn´t work the way it should.

    thanks for your posts.

    ...less is often more.

  5. Your hairspring is touching itself or something...have someone look at it for you.

    RG

    thanks for your answer.

hmm. how can something happen ? i didn´t move the watch. it just turned from one second to the other ? too much oil ? dirt ?

i take it to my favorite watchmaker...

  6. This is not a gen RXW- it is a RXW replica, making it a replica of a replica. ALSO given that it has a synthetic crystal, I would suspect there is a 50/50 chance that the crystal will randomly explode without warning (I am not joking aout this.)

You can get this rep from several of the dealers on this forum- King had this exact one not too long ago- but if you get it- only accept one with a sapphire crystal.

    -O

thank you for that statement. i thought to get some watches to build up my own "gen". kind of radiomir case without srewed crown and without all the needless markings on the case and dial. seems that this watch isn´t the right base for me. and the price is horrible too. he asks about € 275,-- for this watch. on fleemarkets in my region i can get a 127 or a 183 for example for about € 60,-- to € 80,--. better pic up the parts there...

  7. Guys.. I can tell by first hand.. I have a genuine L 22 and a genuine 112 again with L

Both the watches seem to have C3 Lume.. (compared to the work done by Finepics with Tritec C3 Lume)

The 22 is from 2000 and the 112 from 2006.. One is painted and the other is sandwich and they have the same identical colour.

I just ordered some lume from tritec. C3 and C1/White. I will post pics of the superlumed dial. I wrote, that a mixture of white and C3 should be the correct colour... have to try.

  8. wow :) great strap, love the leather

i thought this thread was a forgotten one but well :p

Im happy that ppl actually do straps still

    cheers,

    Kuba

thanks... it is really old leather. i had to put a lot of some lubricant we call "waffenöl" and after this beeswax on it to get it wearable.

now it is really smooth and doesn´t rip off my skin any longer. ;-)

i´m steadily looking for old and really thick leather. some old saddlers have such leather in stock. you don´t find two pieces that look equal. every strap will become unique. i love to work with this material. and my work gets better from strap to strap.

fortunatly i found some old tools from my grandfather. he did exclusive boots for the polish cavalry officers in the years before 1939.

i hope this thread will be continued... I wanna see some more handdrafted straps in here ...

    regards

  9. Hay ,,, only 8 members responded ?

I am sure that a lot of us around here had the same problem or this problem at least prohibited some of us from pulling the trigger on a 183 / 210

Come on speak out , lets encourage our dealers to do something

    Cheers

...of course we need better threads.

the 183 is one of the best reps on the market. instead of this crown desaster. i haven´t worn mine since two month because of that ruined threats.

i ´d like to have a new tube and crown in an good quality. and i like to get it in germany...

for a proportionally price... otherwise i better get a complete new watch.

  10. All the info you need is here.

    PAM Cannon upgrade.

You want H3 size replacement cannon and hour wheels, I keep these in stock.

    RG

    thanks The Zigmeister.

of course i already have read this thread.... what do you think ?

on my 183 G i did this modification in another not really satisfying way.

i just shortened the minute hand untill it fitted roughly.

so i´m really interested in your parts. please send me a pm.

    thanks for all the answers.

  11. hi to all,

today i found this forum by luck. i never saw a better one on this topic and i wonder why i didn´t find it earlier.

i am from germany but that is not the reason why my english is really bad. ;-)

i own several reps, mostly pams. my favorite is ...guess which ?

and i am astonished about what i can learn on modding watches here.

    thanks for this platform.

  12. i often thought about making a strap specially for my pam 183 g.

now i read this tutorial and i see that there are other people with the same thoughts...

taking some old leather which has its own character and create a really unique strap that fits to the watch and the one who is wearing it.

i took pics of the straps i actually did.

the leather is from an old chair that survived an fire...

take a look at it. and excuse my bad english...
