I agree with Legend on this. I for one do not believe in spending big $$ on a car. I drive from A (house) to B (Office) 5 days a week. On the weekend, my car is used to ferry my kids from various A and various B. To me a car should be functional and reliable and therefore does not have to be expensive. I am not into expensive aesthetically pleasing cars. A car is just a car!

I drive a honda CRV and have for 7 years and I think it is the best reliable car I have ever driven.

 

Now when it comes to watchs, this is where I enjoy myself. The aesthetics come into play and  I am happy to spend all my money on reps and gens. Letting me enjoy looking at it strapped around my wrist. Now that is more appealing to me.

 

So in a nutshell I dont believe in the expensive car expensive watch ratio. I don't think they are linked at all.

It all comes down to individual preference. 

The dark hour hand is a deal breaker for me. Second, if I drive a car that costs $55k but am wearing a watch that's $20k, there is something wrong with that picture.

Some people own 20k cars but live in a huge mansion.

I think it would be better off purchasing an ETA 2824-2 / ETA 2846 and taking out the parts out of the movement to make this mod more cost effective.

Also i am considering getting the standard ETA 2824-2 date wheel. I've heard from other members that it will not fit due to the gear issues. 

Is that true?

My only concern is whether the date cyclops is wide enough to display the date itself.

Parts list:

- FC diver V1 Bezel, inner bezel and crowns

- Imaknockov case

- SS V3.5 dial and cyclops plus movement

- FC V1 hands, modified to loose the grey-ish appearance

- Strap, plots and buckle I am not sure about but probably from V1 FC diver

 

FC V1 hands look more gen than FCv3? wow.

nice, how hard was it to airbrush the minute and seconds hand to match the diving meter? 

 

1 the baton @3 could have been made closer to the rim on the dw like gen 

2 the hands@6/9 are black with a red tip and @12 hand black with white tip

3 logo incorrect shape to gen 

4 the batons longer then gen and wider lum then gen

 

 

This is hands down the best AP watch to replicate cause 99% of the whole piece is black. 

Hopefully version 2 will be released or does ''best edition'' means 1 version only?
