  1. I'm not a Muller fan but the Cartier Tank is nice, also a better size than the Santos 100 which I find a tad too large. If you like the metal straps then maybe even look at a Rolex Datejust. Let us know what you find!
  2. By tradition a dress watch usually comes on a leather strap rather than a bracelet (if that's what you meant by full ss?) and should be relatively slim so it can fit under a double cuff shirt sleeve. I would make sure it had a clean classic look, I would stick to something with a real simple dial. Maybe a Patek, Jaeger or even an IWC. If you want a metal bracelet maybe a breitling transocean or iwc portofino on a mesh perhaps?

  4. Great cause, you daughter is wonderful asset to you and your family. I wish her all the best reaching her target. Donation sent. Matt
  5. Pete did you see this in the news a few weeks ago....? http://bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-24737671 Perhaps you're sitting on a small fortune!
  6. Andrew does take PayPal if you request it, he'll usually send you a link to make the payment via another website, might seem a bit dodgy your first time round, but, it's usually (in my experience) a smooth and easy process. I like PayPal purely because its less hassle, few clicks and your done. Find what you like and go for it! Once you've got that 1st order on your wrist you'll be much more relaxed 2nd time round.
  7. It ended up coming via FedEx anyway, that was very quick barring the wait on shipping over the Chinese holidays. Three days from leaving Hong Kong to my door!
  8. Stick with the trusted dealers! A lot of dealers are in holiday now until the 7th/8th so may be a bit slower than usual in replying to your requests.
  9. They are quite generic, same principle for tv's, set top boxes etc etc but then they usually go through an IR control box of some sort as it would be an input signal rather than a stereo jack but basically anything that sends and receives an IR signal. Probably came free with something over the years. Probably a set up like this http://www.xantech.com/manuals/49095.pdf See page 3
  10. It would be used as an extension cable plugged into the back of your stereo/other compatible device. I believe infrared words mainly on a line of sight basis and doesn't penetrate most solid objects, so, if for example your stereo is in a solid cabinet/behind closed doors/out of range the stereo may not pick up the signal from the remote. This could be placed elsewhere possibly extending the range of your remote control. I may be wrong however!
  11. If your not using it already I would bin it, at least you know what it is now. Where it came from or what with is another thing!
  12. It doesn't look that old. Is there no hint of what it could be from the writing on the wire itself, I can't make out what it says.
  13. Could be something along these lines? Bluetooth audio adapter perhaps? http://www.highfidelityreview.com/qed-uplay-hi-fi-bluetooth-stereo-audio-adapter.html
  14. Thanks guys. I'm not too worried about the timescale of the delivery and it cost me the same as EMS, I appreciate its a waiting game. It had come previously one way and then a different way the next. Just wondered how your experiences faired compared to EMS. I hope I'm in when they deliver because the nearest DHL depot is 30 min round trip (Beckton)! Not too far from you Pete i believe.
  15. Afternoon guys I just ordered my 3rd rep, an IWC Mark XVII with Andrew and received a tracking number which indicates it will be sent by DHL. My last two orders were sent by EMS/Parcelforce and both arrived within 8 days with no customs problems, delays etc etc.... so was expecting the same again. Is it usual for dealers to 'switch up' their delivery methods to the UK? Are there any pros/cons of one over the other? Any experience you have had with DHL to UK I'd be interested to hear. Cheers Matt
