in it's construction it's more gen like... it has an actual bezel that can be removed like the gen... you can also order a replacement bezel from DSN and it will fit... ordering a replacement bezel is impossible with any Hublot factory Pam case. The H factory case design was created so they could build one universal midcase design for both manual and auto... the only thing that differs is the bezel/rehault unit that's removable as one piece and requires an additional gasket... saves a ton of money! I predicted the H factory would be making manual pams over a year ago because of this case design. Also highly likely they'll produce subs for the same reason.

H factory is the same factory that produced the original ultimate 104, 088 and 156... current models have exact same non-gen construction, though they look good. Since they've already been making the ultimate crystal my only hope is they actually produce the proper gen crystal thickness so they're interchangeable with gen. Also better CG and crown...

not without serious molding to the case and movement... you can use 616, 624, 617 (good luck), 618 mainly..

also depends what series, etc... older gen dials lume doesn't last as long as the newer ones... my gen 089 dial glows half what my gen 088 does... my g series 111 glows a bit more than my 089 and is a sausage dial... the biggest thing to check is longevity... my gens and good relumed dials will last all night long and into the morning... if you can still clearly read the dial in near darkness the next morning then it's on par with gen...

Strange... not old school cartel as the lugs aren't the same... CG is flat on the top so you'll want to change out the CG... don't recognize it.

DSN is far from a perfectionist! He takes the first pass on whatever the manufacturer gives him so he can put that part/build up for sale asap... the crystals use the heated process for all parts of the machining process... so rather than grinding the inner curvature, they further reheat the sapphire and press mold them onto the 2nd form... this is why they have so much distortion... so very much distortion it's more than just a tell it's a joke. This crystal project is one of the most ambitious projects to date... I'll buy a couple just to support the effort!

I'm not sure what it is you're asking...??? You want an extremely long hour hand?? Yeah it's possible to take a minute hand and resize it to fit the hour post... but then what? You put another minute hand on the minute post? Both hands are the same size?? Please clarify your question...

well he definitely put it on the lathe... I'm guessing the case was an ultimate 088 case? If so the big bezel block piece would be much easier to mount on the lathe and trim...

I use a bare razor blade and get the bezel lifted carefully... some reps bezels are glued down so be careful... work your way around the bezel... after the bezels started it'll get easier... I ground a little service notch in my replacement bezels to match the gen... again if you are working on an ultimate 104 or 088 this won't work since they don't have removable bezels...

you're talking about reps so maybe they're compatible... the gens look like the jfu case in the pics above... you can order new bezels from DSN and they'll fit most cartel cases... ultimate cases are not gen like and don't have a replaceable bezel... ultimate cases are pressed out from the inside... all others use the knife method and I wouldn't recommend a bezel tool... gens have a tiny opening along the edge to start the removal...

Yeah I've been looking at making a new insert piece for the ultimate case to allow a gen crystal... the ultimate case has a very strange non gen like bezel piece... do you have much overlap over the bezel?

I've got a question... as far as which is more desirable in a Gen CG, a lever with roller ball or without. I've got a buddy that's got a Gen K series CG with the plain type lever and has been trying to find someone willing to trade for their Gen roller ball lever but to no avail... in my opinion the non roller ball lever would be way more desirable! What do you guys think??

well and as many have discovered, the new reps have really strange case sets... bezels aren't anything like the Gen... 2 piece main set with a funky gasket... they look the part but probably aren't that water proof and you can't replace the bezel like old school EL cases and gens... yet again a trade off.

I was not impressed with the automatic crystal... horrible AR and crystal is too thick for auto case.

If I do this run I'll be able to do some destros as well... micro engraving via chemical mill using photo masks... just a matter of turning the photo mask upside down

the hoblot factory won't do the 28xx models since there's so few models... and the soprod models are too complicated... they'll hit many of the 7750 and 7753 models.

yeah looks like he is maybe replacing the seagull with super crap junk 6497... he can probably still get the seagoing though... but there are other sellers of the seagull movement.
