  1. Mid-June. Could be that I've done business with him before, am unsure. Re WU I have close to zero experience, but that sounds weird! What did DSN say?

he said, they do not allow him to use the same name too many times and they think he is laundering money.  i am willing to cover the pay p fee to get the deal done.  it is weird.  wu and mg are saying use pp, but some on this forum are saying p pal is the problem.

    looking for solutions or recommendations

    thanks

  2. Paid $50 for the dial via Paypal, that included fees and shipping. And yes, did attach a picture in my mail from his PB to secure that I got the version I wanted :) Shipment was completed within a week from payment.

when?  he says he only does western union and moneygram.  just tried moneygram.  they declined the transaction saying possible fraud.

    should i be concerned?

  3. clarification:  i was off on some international linguistic tangent...  two are gaelic sayings. translations - 'the wine is sweet, the paying is bitter' and 'a fool and his money are soon parted'. the censored word is 'p i s _ ed'.  it is an aussie slang for being drunk where as in the u.s. it means angry. basically inferring should i get scammed i'd rather get drunk thn get angry.  i'm a noob! {insert semicolon end parenthesis}

  4. Great service from davidsen, I have had a lot of watches from him

storm, same questions where you shop and how'd you pay him?  glad your transactions went well.  there is a difference between your [censored] and mine.  i like yours better mate.

  5. DSN (his initials nick) has been a TD here for quite a long time...  http://www.rwgforum.net/forum/72-davidsenjpn

proj_gist, i may take your word on this.  nick/david san/ling li choi/watchmmx/davidsenjpn he goes by quite a few names.  no paypal. no website. no moneygram receiving code. so the risk is all mine.  why do i like these odds... hey b3n - you know this one ni bhionn airgead amadain i bhfad in a phoca!

  6. Although there can be some dealers out there in the ether that we've not heard of/dealt with, we tend to recommend that people stick with the TD's (that can be found half-way down the main page).

The main advantage is that these TD's are tried and tested. If a dealer is not listed on the main page then it would most likely be in your own interest to avoid them as you would be gambling with your money.

If you can find the watch you're looking for from one of the TD's listed on this site then that would be best. If not then you could take the risk of ordering from dsn/watchmmx but the risk of getting conned is fairly high.

b3n, how does it go, 'ge milis am fion, the e searbh ri dhiol'

  7. after doing tons of research. comparing the same model from so many different sites i lost count.  i have found the one i like. everything seems cool except it is not a website. it is a photobucket account.  and instead of accepting credit cards or pay pal he only takes west union or money gram.  he does not have a receiving code so i can not verify his good standing and there is no recourse with electronic money transfer should anything go wrong.  rule number one on their sites is - if you dont know them don't send money.

i believe in being discreet, but i also know positive feedback could help a reputation and negative feedback could save anothers.

    do we name names here?

  8. having trouble finding a quality pan rep. any suggestions? wont they the abiltiy to waterproof? i guess i got lucky the first time.

i saw your rolex and tag - rad modifications! who are highhoeyazmuhdee and zigmeister? i may need there services.

just searched members for Highoeyazmuhdee - no results found.  proper gaskets sounds easy.  i'm all thumbs.

going to need a watchmaker or watchsmith perferably in southern california

  9. I only have one data point.

A rep submariner that I got from josh, I went snorkeling with it in Thailand.. and it was fine

if it has to work then you should get it waste proofed by one of the watch smiths on this board

thanks ricardo! i spend a lot of time in the water.  i'm going to look into watch smiths hopefully in so cal.  who is josh??

  10. Ive havent had many problems with reps and water resistance. I just tested a AP diver to 9atm with no mods and passed with no problems.

whoa... back up. md2020, your profile says 'watch maker' 'other mods' and 100% postive feedback. i gotta find me a new watch.  (honestly, i didn't realize fixed and tricked out reps {im new and learning})

  11. If you buy a quality replica of a waterproof watch, it should have the ability to be waterproof. The problem is that Chinese factory QC is so bad that entire gaskets might be missing from your watch. Have any dive watch you purchase tested for water resistance. That is the only way to know. No one can predict if the specific watch you receive in the mail will be assembled properly.

  12. Well Reps are not known for their waterproofing, there are some models Rolex, Breitling that are OK. As far as Pam's never heard of one ,others may know. You can always send out to get water proofed by a modder but I never heard of them doing Pam's but I guess it could be done.

the first one i had lasted long enough for me not to remember what site i got it from.  i beleive a gasket must have failed because i noticed a bit of condensation.  then it stopped. -sucks
