  1. Freddy: Thanks for the insert info. Will a Clark crystal also fit the new MBW 5513? It looks as if the lug holes on these models have been made larger to fit gen sized springbars...is this true?
  2. My 1680 and GWSD both accepted a PMWC insert (same size as gen) without and sanding. Just popped right in...perfect. These watches were the old style MBW which I bought from TTK. Does anyone know if the current MBW also accept gen inserts without sanding?
  3. The new MBW 5513 is fine with me ...I just need to know if it will accept a gen insert? Does anyone know?
  4. Again Im no great fan. There was no proof that he molested anyone. WHY is anyone in the mindset of labeling a person with the worst possible human trait when no evidence exists that he indeed was a pedofile?
  5. I was huge fan of MJ at all. The guy was a mega talent there is no doubt. He was also a troubled person based upon his childhood where he really never was allowed to actually have a childhood. This is why I think as an adult he formed closer rlationships with children than he did with adults. He was trying to live the childhood he never had....at least IMO. An adult worth billions hanging out with children equels eventual legal action by those who want a piece of the pie. Its a real shame beyond words if indeed he was an innocent troubled person who was labeled a pedofile even though he did nothing of the sort. Since the court case was a total sham..an obvious shake down for money and there really never was any evidence that came out that showed MJ was indeed a pedofile why are we trying to label this guy with the worst possible trait a human being can exhibit? Pedofiles generally just dont have one victim but many over the years so if indeed he was guilty something much more concrete would have come out by now....at least IMO.
  6. I bought a GWSD and 1680 from TTK several years ago. Since that time I installed better crystals, added a new pearl and insert and drilled the lug holes. They look perfect and are the prizes of my collection. I REALLY want one of Eurotimez 5512's but I have read that the new version of MBW do not accept aftermarket/gen parts. I can live without changing the crystal but that insert and pearl has to go so the question I have is.........will the latest 5513/5512 accept without modding a aftermarket insert specifically the poor mans watch corner inserts? These have gen measurements. This plus an otto frie pearl and the watch then takes on a close to gen look. Does anyone know if this insert will now fit the latest MBW 5512/5513?
  7. After all this time why cant they fix the lousy fit between the end links and case lugs! Damm PERFECT rep and they leave such a mess and they dont fix it. I hope my Bk WM9 SD will have a perfect end link fit...I have heard this will be fixed and certainly will expect that it will be.
  8. I have no idea what watch you recieved from Chris BUT take a look over on repgeek. Aside from the beveled date window which is a plus no doubt my watch and all the others that have recieved one from Eurotimz came with a host of issues: Virually no lume. Rolex crown on clasp loose Very poor centering of dates in date window Gaps between end links and case lugs Dust and smudges on dial, hands etc Loose case back My watch did come with a gen eta but really that is all that I can say positive about this product. One word..."sloppy". I have over 30 rep watches so I am no novice. I wrote to Chris several days ago and am still waiting on a reply.
  9. I have a question for the vintage rolex experts....I had my MBW 1680 worked on to make it more like the gen. Looks good but the one thing that bothers me is that I cant see very well the ends of the springbars through the lug holes. I really like that look and my first impresion was that the wrong size spring bars were used but I was sworn that they were.......any ideas?
  10. AP ROO movement is problematic, the swordfish is just plain ugly IMO. I have a HBB and this is the watch I would choose of the three. All have Asian auto movements which have been good for me but have heard of issues here and there. I typically limit my exposure to the Asian 7750 and try to stick with the non chrono ETA movements. I would suggest a Rolex DSSD.
  11. No. The PMWF insert will fit perfectly without glueing. However what you want is an Ofrei "illuminus dot" for 20.00 bucks. Perfect combination!
  12. One thing I immediatly noticed when I saw the first Eurotimz photos of his MBW 5512 and 5513 was that the lug holes appeared much larger than my MBW 1680 or 1665 which I bought 3-4 years ago from TTK. Perhaps all the MBW have been altered OR perhaps the source in BK is now buying the REP MBW from China and passing them along as true MBW? Do they all now come with asian copy eta movements also? They are making reps of rep watches....incredible.
  13. If you think about it two trains of thought exist. One is to stimulate the economy via the spending plan set forth by our new president. The idea here is that everything is so bad that the only way to pull the brakes and turn things around in a reasonable time span is by government intervention. The conservative side tells us that if we just cut taxes and wait the economy will be self correcting. You will notice however that no one mentions how long everyone will need to wait for this to occur. No doubt that in the long run the economy will self correct but in the long run we are also all dead. It is also feasible that the economy will reach an equilibrium at much less than full employment. Month after month things are getting worse and worse and there is no end in sight. We have not hit bottom yet and I think it will be late 2009 before we do so. We MUST do everything that we can to turn this around. This will include that spending plan and tax cuts. Every day that we wait will make the situation that much worse. 14. I heard from Andrew that there is a good possibility that these fixes will be made once the current V3 stock runs out. In a few months time. I will wait.
  15. I also have a GWSD...MBW. So far I have installed a Clark superdome, installed a poor mans watch parts insert, drilled lug holes and installed the correct spring bars. Now I want to trim the CG and install an ofrei pearl. I have a few questions.... 1) I was told after the fact that a superdome on a GW is wrong...is that the case? Did the gen GWSD ever come from the factory with a superdome? 2) I notice in some pictures of MBW GWSD that have been modded that the tip ends of the spring bars can be clearly seen almost to the very edge of the hole. In others you can barely see them....why the difference and are there specific spring bars that I should buy to make it look this way? 3) I have read the tutorials about CG trimming....can some one give me a more specific guide as to how I should go about trimming my MBW CG? I have never done this before and dont want to make any mistakes. Do I use a dremmel? Just take that small area out at the very bottom of the CG? I really need some expert help here. Thanks.
  16. The Patek....However a simple Cartier Tank Louis Cartier will set you back around 5000...its solid gold with a great manual movement. Not as collectable as the Patek but still something that can be passed down generation to generation and as classic as they come. Put the money you save away for a rainy day.
  17. NEVER THINK of buying a rep watch for 1000 bucks!!!!!!! You can buy the latest version of Rolex deep sea.....a nearly 1:1 rep....very very good for around 350 bucks. It will contain a nice ETA movement. Spend 2-3 weeks looking around this forum especially in the ROLEX area and then decide what you want to do. My suggestion would be to contact either Andrew or Joshua (trustytime and perfectclones) since they have pretty much the best reputation and then buy what you want. Furthermore go with either (or both ) the V3 BEST Deepsea (around $350) and the Super Sea Dweller (around $280). The Deep Sea needs no mods. The Super SD you can sent to Rex for crown guard trimming and insert/pearl modification. Dont fool around...just buy the swiss eta models. Both are incredible reps that you will enjoy for many years. If you want a submariner I suggest you buy from Bk. He will send you the best possible Sub that he will personally ensure is in great working and looking order. OK...so there you have it..in one paragraph all you need to know about the Sub, SD and Deep Sea. Now do some research and have fun.
  18. Doubt it would work on lugholes. The SS have heard is very very hard and difficult to accomplish correctly even with a high powered drill press.
  19. I told a neighbor about these great rep watches and he went ahead and bought a beginmariner from Josh. The rotor came loose after 8 or so months and I was able to fix that. Now however the watch is running a bit slow losing 5 min or so every 18-24 hours. I know there is a way to adjust for this on the movement but am not sure what to do and dont want to make it any worse! Can anyone please advise?
  20. In my mind the greatest Rock album of all time Led Zeppelin I.
  21. By from Bk. I have worked with him a lot over the last year and I am very sure he wont ship a watch that is not perfect. If any issue does arrise he is located in the US and its a simple matter to send it back to be fixed. From what I hear it will be a close to perfect rep sub. If I had the money I would buy one myself....and I have 5 subs already!
  22. The other thing thats interesting is if you align up all the hands at say 12 oclock and then turn them all by using the crown the GMT hand stays in sync with the other hands. Its only when you set the watch and then let it run that you start to see the GMT hand running fast. I sent this watch back to the dealer twice and it came back the same way I sent it both times. Then I complained and the dealer sent me an asian GMT IHS free of charge. I still have this swiss GMT that I would like to get fixed if it wont cost me an arm and a leg. Regards and thanks for the comments The Zigmeister.
  23. Hours are working fine...spot on. However the GMT hand gains hours every day. If its a gear issue would you expect it to be costly to fix?
  24. The Zigmeister...I have a Swiss CHS Rolex ceramic GMT...the latest one. It tells just about perfect time and the date changes at 12 midnight..no issues there. However the GMT hand is fast so I gain hours every 12 hour period. Any idea what can be causing this? Is it easily fixable?
  25. Rehaut cannot be fixed. Like I stated very few would ever notice aside from Rolex owners/geeks. BK has a spot in the dealers section.
