  1. i've seen happen to me, too. It seems to be tied to the ads on a page. when you press back, it will re-load the ad. so it seems like you are stuck on the same page
  2. Remember what someone here said about acting the part when wearing reps? Nothing would be more embarassing to see a nice, visually accurate sub or PO fog up when it gets wet. I take all my diver's watches to a local watchmaker to have all gaskets and o-rings lubed and waterproof tested. $25 - I call it cheap insurance.
  3. TAG catalog gone. Thanks, everyone.
  4. IWC catalog gone. TAG catalog still available
  5. thanks for the PM's. IWC may be spoken for. prefer conus, so I won't have to deal with customs forms, etc. I just want to place it in a envelope, put stamps and be done with it. Sorry for our overseas folks, no insult intended.
  6. COSC ETA movement + modded sub case = PERFECT Sub?
  7. can you confirm the thickness of the watch? thanks.
  8. Or........ swap out the back with the solid caseback from a regular SMP. it fits, and when asks to see the watch, they won't notice a thing. Less giveaway than seeing that bare movement through the clear caseback. Only an OM fan will know that the blue GMT should have a clear caseback.
  9. PLEASE don't make us wait too long for your review.
  10. Remember that Ofrei's is OEM ($169). The strap is a keeper. It fits Seamasters and Speedmasters. If you look at your PO's lug holes, they are almost at the end of the case. So with a regular strap, there will be a large gap between the case and the strap. That's what makes OEM's unique. Even if I end up without any Omega rep later on, I can easily sell on eBay and only lose a few $$. Until then, you'll have a very authentic looking PO. BTW, I used the rep clasp from one of our dealer's rep strap with clasp. VERY good quality IMO.
  11. I have a GMT, SMP and PO. That gen strap easily fits the others. So it's not a bad move overall. BTW, it also fits speedmasters.
  12. I like my black 4th gen so much. CWAI has covered the flaws and recommended upgrades previously so I am not reporting on those anymore. I wasn't planning on switching out the hands. I figured they were "good enough". But the Omega logo on the dial shifted and is now crooked. Now I need to open it up to fix the logo. Must be sign to work on the dials so I drove to Ofrei's and got them. Also picked up a pair of springbars per CWAI's recommendation. Ofrei has other non-OEM springbars that looked just as nice. But I didn't want to mix and match too much so went for OEM instead. Now here's the great part: I wanted to replace the SS bracelet with a strap. I have held the gen leather and rubber straps and they feel cheap compared to the gen watch. It just didn't do it justice. So I checked out the straps based on what I saw on Ofrei's site. Also didn't want regular croc because I wanted to fill the space between the springbars and the case. Look at the pics and you'll know what I mean. I did not consider this rubber strap as it only takes an Omega buckle and I wanted to use a clasp. So I asked the saleslady to bring out the straps. She did and I had the opportunity to compare them side by side. All fit perfectly but I decided to go with this one. It's made of kevlar and it takes a clasp. I'll post pics when the work is complete.
  13. But it's a rep. By the time you factor in your additional costs you would have blown your budget. But that's just my $0.02.
  14. Need to have the keyless works on my 2836 reset. Anyone know a local that we can 'trust' ? Thanks.
  15. or.... buy from the multiple posted items here that's already in CONUS. Then you'll get it there by next week.
  16. What do you guys think of a 063 case using a 029 dial? I was told that the current 029 has too many flaws anyway so it will be nice to make a custom one. I like the tux dial of the 029, unlike the one on the 063 which looks to busy. On the other hand, I like the simplicity of the 063 case, unlike the graduated case of the 029. Best of both worlds? PAM blasphemy? Guide this PAM noob, please!
  17. Not sure, but I'm sure they can tell it's a rep the minute they open that caseback. you'd be better off having one of the experts here do it for you.
  18. the logo on the clasp of my Constellation. That piece fell off when I left if my jeans once and the jeans were put in the washer AND drier. Watches survived. Still using it. I did not expect to see it repaired anymore, short of buying a whole new bracelet for it. I asked one of the folks there and they found it in their catalog. Back to this Constellation. It's Paul's solid with ETA 2892 bought over a year ago - so I swear by its durability. And waterproof strength. And shock and heat resistance.
  19. I was at Offrei's. I'm telling you, their website catalog does not come close. It's like being a kid in a candy store. I did not know that it was in my vicinity. So I drove there during my lunch to see what they have. Gen crowns, dials, inserts, tools, cases, winders, presses, straps and a lot more - they're everywhere. And the folks there are really friendly. Needless, I came out with something in my hand - again like that kid in the candy store, just got to buy something to make you feel good. I know that that visit won't be my last. Found myself a gold mine.
  20. Has not happened to me. Sometimes I would even tell co-workers and they would not believe me. They think I am just trying to downplay my watches, as I have too many of them. TWO THINGS: 1. Good quality reps - they will hardly get called out (or at least not easily) 2. As posted by someone else in the forum, you have to look the part. You gotta be believable in being able to afford the "gen" version of whatever you are wearing. These go hand in hand. $0.02.
  21. Apparently, that Angelus movement has some historic value on vintage Pams. Pics of gens:
  22. Paypal/eBay has been controlling this market for way too long. Taking a cut on your sold items and taking another when you get paid - is really a double whammy. competition is good.
