  1. I've been working on some leather straps for friends and family, and I'm having a hard time finding (mostly looking for pre-v PAM style) decent selection of buckles. They don't have to be high-end, but I'd like to not have to pay $10-15 EACH. Would rather buy them in bulk. Anyone who knows where I can get this, please let me know. Appreciate the help in advance :notworthy:

  2. If your dealer is replacing the entire bracelet for free, then that is good. However it may very well happen on that one too, I've had it happen on 2 UPO bracelets, the rivet the factories used is not very good quality.

Also I had a good incentive of keeping my original one, I re-brushed and polished the bracelet to match the grain, hue and lustre of the gen :D

Nice. Well, if I have another issue, I'll see what I can do with your instructions. Thanks man :victory:

  3. FxrAndy,

Where did you get the one on the right? (the red pusher). I Have one of the larger ones, but as you said it only pushes so far.

There is a fix for that problem DP8, I've done it myself before.

You need to get a steel pin/thin nail, and cut it to size. Then apply a small amount of high quality superglue to both ends of the pin and fit it in. Also, every half hour or so, you might want to move that clasp area around to prevent the glue from sticking to the thicker metal piece (the one with the pin sticking out that the clasp attaches to). If you applied glue to ends of the makeshift rivet this should minimize the risk of sticking.

Already spoke to who I got it from. He is replacing the bracelet for me. I am not going to superglue it.

  4. The center rivit has broken, if it was quite new i sugest you speake to the person you bought it from and ask what they can do for you, in the mean time the UPO looks great on a number of different straps

Aren't these supposed to be the "best of the best"? I have a $100 cheapo 42mm PO and they don't even look the same. How could both sides just come apart like that? I am not happy, this is really frustrating.

What other straps will fit on these? I really wanted the SS one. Hopefully seller will help out.

Btw, what's the best way (tools necessary) to remove links on a UPO to re-size? Had my 42 done by myself but thinking (well, WAS thinking) about doing the 45 myself

  5. yeah the only thing I really am sorta disappointed in, is the lume. Shines bright when you charge it, but doesn't last long and has absolutely no lume afterwards. Disappointing on that aspect, but otherwise it's great. And it IS waterproof! Have showered in mine about 5 times now.

  6. Nice watch! I can never tell too much from QC pics myself.

Unless it's something big like the dial is crooked or something.

I don't bother posting those pics because some people seem to see flaws that might not be there and that just slows the whole thing down.

When I bought my PO I had ordered orange and the QC pics showed a black one, so in that sense it was helpful.

Post up some pics when you get your watch!

The Planet Ocean is a really nice rep.

    Did you order the Swiss?

If you plan to do the full mods with a gen dia etc in the future... you need that version ..

Thanks guys. Nope, this was the "deal" one from Josh. Same one a few others have purchased recently. I have a 45 on the way which does have the swiss from another dealer. Just wanted this orange one and I might mess around with it for what the price was. I am pretty happy with how nice it is. A lot better than a UPO I had 2 years ago.

EDIT: the first pic IS my watch. I just put the QC ones in there. Sorry, thought I put that in the first post.

  7. I don't mind helping new posters. Most of my post count was accumulated trying to help some 1st post'r with finding the Dealers area or warning them against the ripoff site they are asking about.

Besides, I like to see pictures of watches; I bet the dealers have received quite a few sales from lurkers gawking at someone's QC photos, then heading to the web site to place an impulse order.

Very true. I see your point . :good:

  8. Your Joined is 2007. That means you have been here long enough to remember when they were secretly selling clone ETA movements to the Forum at Swiss prices, before the cat was let out of the bag by Chris @ Eurotimez.

Now .. ask your question again, and I will give my answer more plainly.

I agree with your comment, however that stuff hasn't been happening as of late (for quite some time). Am I correct? I don't post a lot, but I just think that with this hobby (that's all it is, we all know the risks/rewards), part of it is being a little discreet and doing some research. What if every "first post" by someone was "will you please look over this QC pic for me and tell me if it's any good???", then where would we be?
