  1. unrestored&vintage 9ct gold Omega
  2. Hi, thx, so I know where to get the insert, have bought from Wso before:) On to read Your build thread, thx.
  3. Wow, the 1675 is exactly the rep I am researching and You´re building one:) The aging of the hands is fine but the washed/faded look of the insert is absolutely amazing! (was it achieved with bleach?) The bracelet difference is huge for the character of this watch - and learned to be careful with it being a GMT - movement.
  4. That´s a crackling beauty vintage and rare GMT specimen, reminds Pan-Am. Just wonderful. Ceramic V5.
  5. Hi, the one I purchased was this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/231255146521?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT quite a bit cheaper and I think it´s the same.
  6. The nut-glue-remove tip is a nice one for an emergency. If You´ve got more than 1 Rolex just get the chinese Huaxing caseback removal tool set from ebay - costs between $15 and $20 once. It´s not only good to remove but even better to tighten watertight, plus You have a place to hold/keep/store it without even touching the caseback. Simplifies all work longterm and makes it practical/easy.
  7. By Grabthar´s Hammer, by the Suns of Warvan, Dr. Lazarus and Professor Snape will be missed. It has been a privilege to see him as brilliant theatrical Actor with a great voice who sure knew how to create unique Characters forever in our thoughts. RIP and God bless. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i16NigDQ2HA
  8. If You are saying the vintage gen is a great watch in it´s own right and the spectre function (without a GMT hand) is somewhat non-sensical I will totally agree. On the other hand if You are comparing rep to gen both the modern ceramic Seamaster 300 Coax and the Spectre-version are much closer to the respective gen otb than that vintage replica (still it is on my wishlist).
  9. Heroes just for one Day,The Zigmeister Stardust, Major Tom, The Man who fell to Earth, David Bowie was around in some decisive, some good, some sad moments of my life and will be remembered as one of the great ones in Music and Art. Able to transmit feelings and inspiration, very versatile with totally different styles. RIP
  10. Isn´t Davidssen just 1/3 the price of the others? If all are "wrong" how does it hold up than? More of a rhetoric question - the gen vintages are incredibly beautiful.
  11. Take it easy, Toro will sort it out, most probably he will contact You in 8 hours from now. It may well be Your CC was even not yet charged and he just sends You payment instructions.
  12. Very sorry and sad to hear this, it´s terrible it had to happen and Your Mother is so alone with You far away. The other thing is to be realistic, it seems You & Family are in poor financial condition after Your Father left. Imho there are 2 ways of action: a.) the kind dog is just 9 months old, it is already suffering a lot of pain and partially chained up, spare it a life of later, recurring problems even after the operation is done (there are no 100% treatments and dozens of different cirurgeries are used) and kindly put it to sleep with an injection; meanwhile save another puppy from the local Canil or through the Vet from a hard life and uncertain future; Save up and repair the Rolex Your Father left You as the only thing and keep it for a future hardship, You never know how life plays in the future; b.) invest more time in talking to Vet´s and charitable organizations through the Internet, consider going to another country (Poland? Ucraine?) for doing the operation at a much lower cost than in Italy; Maybe locally in the Canaries as travelling is a problem. Consider alternative treatments starting with weight reduction (scroll down to about 1/2 onwards: http://www.2ndchance.info/hipdysplasiadog.htm It´s not Your fault. From the writings I´d suppose You are in the early 20´s and there is much ahead. You are in no way culprit to the dog´s hip dysplasia nor to not having the savings for a potential improvement. You have to get over this. What You can do is to build up for the future and by the way You are easily giving up Your Fathers legacy at the first problem it seems You are not yet doing so. Think that Yourself and You Mother are not getting younger with each day that passes. Have faith, believe in Yourself "Hardships often prepare ordinary people for an extraordinary destiny" C.S.Lewis Wishing the best outcome.
  13. Hard to say without opening the caseback, a look on the movement could possibly reveal more. The configuration is typical and very similar to the Cortebert Spéciale, cal 616. I have this for a vintage PAM build as the movement is the same/similar to the Rolex used in first PAMs. Solid winding, good time-keeping after all these Years:)
  14. Wow - that´s a great pic:) pure art
  15. The updated Cartel 5513, hands down best choice:) PF link included within the link: https://rwg.cc/topic/181702-the-updated-cartel-5513?page=1
  16. Personally not a fan of tourbies (and the $700 price-tag) but there are some nice ones out there, AP Royal Oak version included. Try and check Intime´s site, I remember seeing some over there.
