  1. That was real beginners luck (to not get that confirmation from a scamsite). Like this, You can look up the dealers on here and buy from them.
  2. Hi, normally the first step is to contact the TD and nicely ask for a refund. If You just didn´t like the first watch he showed You, normally You get to see a second and a third. There may well be 3 days to a week waiting time in between depending on the TD. Next step is to contact a moderator and explain the situation if it did not work out. Avoid the direct PP way at all cost.
  3. Hi and welcome. Best recipe is to start reading around for a week to get to know the place, where and how to buy etc. Lots of really qualitative choices once You know Your ways. Have fun and enjoy
  4. Sooner or later You will have 2-3 favourites. Some are faster in communications and shipping, have better websites and favour certain factories, others may lack these qualities but put more effort into pre-selecting watches before You get to see them or have simpler payment methods. In the past, as soon as something went wrong, I switched the TD and never regretted it. The bigger the dealer, the less he will reward "loyalty", exceptions granted.
  5. Just to put things right, That wasn´t a mod at all - he said he was a mod not being, he was just banned today on rwi for trying to sell a watch with a photoshopped gen dial on it and Your case is mentioned too: http://www.replica-watch.info/vb/showthread.php/226844-Welcome-to-The-Brig-Rolexxx-(aka-I-lt-3rolex-and-foolex)
  6. Sooner or later I would love to place an order for a DJ anyway, so others will know how to find You as well. What´s going on on the other forums? Thanks for the good moments looking at those stunning Datejust pics other members posted - all built by You. Keep it up, this will pass.
  7. Hi and welcome, stay around, read and research a little bit more to get more information and all the answers will soon come by themselves. Count on spending more than double to triple of Your budget on a really nice one. To just try out how everything works maybe search for a recent release of the Explorer II with the cheap 21j movement. That could be a cheaper option for starters, if You like the design.
  8. Hi and welcome to rwg. As general rule find reviews and pictures of the specific rep-watch first before going for it. If You don´t find any after looking well, skip it and go for something else. Chronos, if not quartz, require specific handling as well, a non-chrono will be much easier. Personally and rep-wise I do like the Aquaracers (the blue automatic chrono, the black non-chrono and the quartz, white or black grande date ronda quartz).
  9. Hi, I bought this from victoryduanshop on ebay.uk for GBP 9,98 + shipping, here is another one for £ 15,61 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5537-Watch-Back-Case-Opener-Closer-Remover-For-Rolex-Watch-Repair-Tool-Kit-/121603912553?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item1c50287369
  10. Much better than the duct tape or the rollerball: enter the kitchen (or supermarket) and get one of those yellow, blue or pink thick rubbergloves. Apply constant pressure several times until it moves - specially good for Panerai. Take 2: from Amazon or ebay get a set of Huaxing caseback openers, these cost $17-$23 usd and work the same as the Bergeon ones, simple easy and best way to watertighten when closing the case again. Since having one of these no Rolex-case was an issue anymore.
  11. That might be quite a bit challenging to find the $250 nice and running vintage Omega, there are lots of crap-offerings.
  12. That´s one heck of a nifty, fast and good-looking little car. You must be having lots of fun with the pocket-rocket:)
  13. Great dial and idea, Very nice and kind of You, thanks Whoopy
  14. Works, but only by using openDNS
  15. Very happy with my new "old" Seamaster, with the sleek retro-design, sandwich dial and Explorer-type numbers it ticks some boxes...
  16. Well done and said. It still is a pleasure to look at some great lume.shots. Normally I keep it at 2 or max 3 secs just to be able to compare them myself. The real-life test is when I´m still able to read the time, with some ease, in a dark room after 7 hours. The "superlumed" Rolex´s and PAMs perform quite well.
