Amazing Yachtmaster. That looks beautiful. Great pictures and fantastic lume-shot and colour. Congrats on this unique built:)

Hi and welcome to the learning forum. Check out the Omega section

I have used the standard cheap case opener with 3 points on these and it always worked, if You go slowly and press it a bit down while turning. (It´s vintage anyway so a scratch would seem normal anyway.) The other method is to use sticky packing band made into a ball (but I prefer above method).

Seems enough time to have it fixed. Involve a mod. Would not buy there until the matter is settled. Will never understand anyway why some TD´s loose thousands just to (supposedly) save a couple of hundred,s but on the other hand inflate prices on all watches by $30 to $40 to cover for just these situations.... East vs. West.

5513 today

Only simple reason I can come up with is if the seconds hand started catching the minute hand when it stops (just check). Otherwise once You open the caseback to check what movement it is it´s a fairly simple swap (and most probably inexpensive too). And it looks good, already liked it on the snowpics.

A couple of watches of my collection in the snow

Very nice - and luckily more pics than expected after the first. Beautiful watches, all of them and the drops on the dial gives it a special extra. -
Hi and welcome on Deck The latest noob DSSD is a fine choice, have fun around.

1 Year Later, OH how my tastes have changed!

That´s quite a fine write-up and journey description. And the vintages and mymanmatts look the part. The vintages we see on here sooner or later make them irresistible. Congrats on a nice ride droptop. -

Looks fantastic and portable/orderly. And it will be a long-time pleasure to work on that green felt. The more fun it was given to You by Your wife. Have fun and enjoy, very nice to hear. -
vintage pocketwatch Breguet or not Breguet?
Nightwatch replied to Nightwatch's topic in General Discussion
Thanks for the tip AJ, if I need it in the future. Your repeater is a thing of beauty visually and to behold when listening to it:)- 3 replies

In connection with my recent expeditions into vintage pocketwatch territory (for a Panerai see-through caseback built (cal.616)) I also discovered this probably year 1883 or 1884 18k Courvoisier & Cie numbered 38358 on the dial and inside casings pocketwatch, originally belonging to my grand-grandfather and which has been in the family since. The hands are of a nice steel-blue, it´s a huntercase with engravings of a deer on one side and of a lion on the other. One thing distinctly different from other pocketwatches I´ve seen, is that You face the dial directly, meaning the winding crown is at 3 and not at 12 as usually with pocketwatches. It´s not working. As I´ve always been amazed how much knowledge members have about everything watch-related, it would be great to have any more information about the history and the movement of this one. It´s not a repeater, but is it a Breguet? There is a stilyzed M (from Émile Courvoisier?) engraved several times, the single, small stamp on the movement reads Courvoisier&Cie, Chaux-de-Fonds. Any thoughts are welcome. Thanks. Courvoisièr 8c rectangle 110 Chaux de Fonds Suisse M Spiral Breguet Ligne Droite Ancre 18 Rubis Balancier Compensé On for some vintage eye-candy

Question regarding the ST19: Ofrey offers the R19 movement diameter 26mm/thickness 6.10mm for about $30 usd and a disclaimer regarding Seagull. Isn´t this a direct replacement and alltogether much simpler fix? Or will nothing fit? http://www.ofrei.com/page1119.html

Absolutely fantastic. Love the thin casesets as well, hope Sead managed to source me the first. They just look elegant.

Wow, thanks, it´s up again after the hickups the last few days. Excellent job

If You go the vintage route except for absolute fans nobody will know (unlike ceramic latest ones). Supermirrors has several with 21j movement around the $118 mark, all have tells with ft first or too large crowns etc. but except here on the forum I doubt anybody will know which these tells are as there are too many vintage models in general but only very few around in real life. If You are going to hand it over to someone nothing less than a TC will do.

At that price it´s just a fantastic and unique grab, well worth every cent and with depthmeter and all. Really, really nice:) Congrats - Summer can´t wait.

The word lies in "reliably". There is no "reliable" servicing, not even "waterproofing" over there and the prices are European style. For fun You can check Trustys offerings with that added service but I wouldn´t use it, just buy normally and service locally, there are lots of options through the forums. My tendency goes more towards buying a new movement (cousins.uk or similar) and dropping it in - assembled in a quality environment.

Beautiful movement, caseset, dial and amazing lume and some fine seconds at six. Wonderful presentation and pics. This is another amazing build, really admrable. Congrats on this stunning PAM:

It´s You, Your watch & Your car. It´s a more private and "homely" atmosphere than out in the street. Other than focus on driving You have very little to do. Inside the car I´m very time conscious, I like to check when I leave, estimate when I arrive and cross-check elapsed time at landmarks along the way for future reference and for fun. With a nice wrist-watch I even do it "on purpose" to catch another glimpse at the dial. So it´s quite natural to take out the camera somewhere along the way. You could also use the time resolving all the handy-calls, but it puts even more haste in Your life and takes away even the last residual pleasure of driving and being on Your own. So, I´m one of the culprits:) Next thing is I really like to see members pics with watch and car/ driving wheel/ console/gears - there is a mechanic association between engines/transmissions/ gears and automatic watches, leather and watch-straps.

looking for some cheap reps... watcheden still alive?

Using them "as is" or slightly modified Cartel 5513 and Mini-Egi -
Hi, stay with our trusted dealers only and with some research here on the forum You will know exactly what You get. Won´t even say it´s a scam site because at least they don´t post gen-pics, but those replicas, wow those are the worst I´ve seen - ever. Worth nothing or $40, depending on the take, so at $28 they are on sale, but it´s $28 too much.
-
Some gen-owners put a red yachtmaster seconds hand on theirs. It just looks good. Congrats on Yours, mine says hello:)

There goes the casual : It looks good on a black croco; it looks good on a brown croco; can´t think of any other option on that Lange
