  1. They are .... slim. You were most probably thinking You needed a date - on the same watch, lol
  2. ++ on vintages. Start straight away with vintages and vintage builds on the one hand, care less about minor details and buy more of the cheaper 6497 and 21j ones to try out and have nice beaters on the other hand. Get 3 Seikos and a Steinhart first. Give more importance to sourcing good straps. Maybe get 1 or 2 used gens instead of super-reps. Definitely if living in Conus, less so in the EU. All put together it´s a journey and You don´t get to one without the other, "watch-wise" have never been so happy and definitely better off with all the knowledge and the rep-collection than stuck with 1 or 2 gens bought overpriced from the AD in my country instead. At least now I know exactly the gens I would go for and be happy with.
  3. This contains amazing detail/ information and pics and is so helpful, even after several years. Really appreciated. Thanks a lot freddy333
  4. Best is to wear it and enjoy it not knowing about any flaws, nice on tops if it passes the wp-test and You can use it for swimming. Date slightly to the left, dial would need some 1 mm turning and for the clasp wrap it in plastic-film and tighten it a bit with pliers. Lume not uniform or its the pic, try hitting it with a flashlight. Numbers on the gen are platiunum-dust filled, on the rep are white. This for nitpickers, for each of the flaws there is a costly fix as well (new dwo/re-lume/platinum-mod/re-position dial)/make waterproof) Overall on the wrist it should look very well, pearl is well centered, bezelring looks good to me, dial seems a nice one. Wear it well and post more pics whenever You want, we always love to see them:) .
  5. This hobby is amazing - or how 2 simple, not so accurate cheapies become Your most worn and fav ones: EGI 47mm and 5513 with 3-6-9 dial (ft first, not meters)
  6. Depends on "how stiff". Use nothing different than Silicon-grease to not attack the O-rings. Applied with a toothpick it may help. Easiest 2nd step would be to open the caseback and just slightly loosen (not unscrew) the 2 screws holding the movement push the stem a little out to date or time setting and push it in again - retighten screws. Do all this in a dust-free environment while the watch is not running (this is if too much pressure is being exerted on the stem from the dial positioning). Otherwise - go pro. PS: You don´t need to wind it, just pick it up and possibly avoid setting time etc. Nice watch:)
  7. Ouch - what happened to the second hand? It doesn´t look very good, would pass on this.
  8. Thanks, wasn´t counting on it so soon. Nice details. Actually the blue dial " dégradé" comes over quite well:) Enjoy
  9. Congrats, would love to see more pics of this DSSD. 47mm EGI
  10. The sinn U1 gives problems with the 21j (too heavy seconds hand, heavy stuttering and stopping, overworks the movement) the U2 is fine. (read about it) I´m quite happy with the Piccard DSSD, impressive watch.
  11. If it´s a submariner and the crown is screwed in it´s waterproof - mostly...
  12. You won the bet - had never seen it before. PS: if it´s not running it´s because the white tube on the left is missing the connection rod and tube to the yellow cap on the right. That way the diesel can´t run through... Most important is the red marker at the front: it tells it´s the nose gear:)
  13. With both pockets inside or even otherwise I think I would have kept it in the first place unless I ordered it black or brown and it arrived pink. Some Years ago shipped some well packaged brochures/ business papers/ books from Africa to EU and for fear of loss/damage posted 8 different packages on 4 different days. 2 months later all arrived but 6 of the packages had been lying in diesel fuel which ate away the plastic and soaked through glueing the pages together and rendering things unreadable. Those salvaged still smell today so strong they are kept in the garage. If You mail the leather-shoe explanation to your customer maybe he shows some better understanding for the offer, sounds acceptable to me. Looking forward to an order someday from You.
  14. started out with a Patek and switched to the 386 and put the evening NATO on:)
  15. Just hope that tech progress allows us to behold our dear mechanical ones and doesn´t oblige us for whatever reason to wear those in the future (like those who said they would never use/own a handy..) - there´s still the 2-wrist solution however:)
  16. Isn´t this the post offices responsibility? Bag with pocket at the back permits to conceal money/documents or iphone, You could also stuff it up till no more, at the front much less so. Buyer still has no bag and probably paid $20 posting fees. It´s a difficult situation, but in my western understanding the business should cover for this (or have a respective insurance for lost packages and damaged items). What would be the situation if buyer shipped but item never appeared? Myself I would pay the $50 if asked to and keep quiet - but never order again.
  17. He had at least 2 GMT´s GMT-Master Reference 6542 without crownguards and the 1975 GMT-Master Reference 1675 with black bezel insert: There´s an article on Jake´s Rolex world. Cuban revolutionaires loved the brand. Here´ s Che with his GMT Master, looks great
  18. Sunnydale in Finland (from RWI) sometimes runs 90-150 slot batches at a good price http://www.replica-watch.info/vb/showthread.php?t=176759

  20. Hi and welcome. It´s nice and rewarding but takes some time in the beginning to study and find Your ways. A trusted seller section is available as well.
  21. MasterofPuppets - You joined 5 Years. 7 months and 10 Days ago and You are buying Your first rep? You win the prize for the most patient guy on planet Earth! lol 9 minutes, 9 hours, nine days - in the grand scheme of things: does it really matter? - an Eastern philosopher would probably say: does it matter if You get it earlier and it´s doa? does it matter if it takes 9 weeks longer if You will have a fine watch for many Years to come? Ok, I have a western and linear understanding of the time flow as well but if You´re interested this is a well researched article on time concepts. Don´t agree with everything but it makes You think - if in a hurry scroll down half the page for China.... http://www.businessinsider.com/how-different-cultures-understand-time-2014-5
