  1. Hi, quite frankly I would go to the TD section and order a superlumed LV sub with a 28.800 beat movement (Asian probably) this weekend. Than in 3 weeks time a.) you have a watch for 255 euros or less and b.) you have a reference standard to compare the one you are getting afterwards which is more important than comparing posted pics c.) You will find that with Rolex reps generally speaking the visual quality is quite good nowadays and You need a lupe to find out differences only a wis could tell anyways. At the same time keep looking in the m2m section for the franken You really seek, which will be the fastest and the easiest way to go. There is nothing like holding, feeling, having it in the hand so just get one, experience, it will help You to get a better franken later which may be quite an expense, moneywise and timewise. Just my opinion.
  2. Hi and welcome to RWG. Actually interesting to finally see a complete review of that iparadisiac probably hosted by James purchase. After reading all You wrote I feel indeed lucky to never have bought from them, You have spent a lot and its not a top replica so I would say You have found the right place here to look for a better watch. Here is a picture sample of what one of the trusted dealers offers http://www.ttw888.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=41_210&products_id=9962 , starting with the red second hand in my opinion it just looks overall better, the carbon fiber model is also available. If it is an Asian 7750 movement that You normally get with the chronos it may have issues and best would be not to use the stop watch, nothing should studder and only stop and reset it between 10 and 2 o´clock. A service is only advisable if You really like the watch and need a relume and waterproofing too, I think I would look for and buy another watch here instead with one of the TD. For 50 to 70 USD shipping cost its often good to order a 2nd cheaper watch right away too. Read and research a little there are fantastic Grand Carreras with top quality out there. For 285 USD shipped I´ve got this TAG Aquaracer Grande Date from Sead/ Supermirrors it´s 1:1 to gen with good lume and Swiss ronda Quartz movement (its got that crazily fast and sweeping 1/10 secondhand, the main second hand ticks or is locked at 12 and an exception in my collection but wanted to have a good, reliable quartz one and a TAG with good lume) Lumeshot next to Rolex Seadweller
  3. White ceramic Channel J12 - 38mm, Tag Aquaracer Ladies, Cartier Ballon Bleu, Rolex Cellini, Patek Nautilus Ladies and the 2 Omegas above
  4. Wear it well, it´s a stunning and resistant watch. Brandnew:) Got the PVD Piccard and love to see the red lettering on it too.
  5. Ryan from Intime is a good TD on the other forum RWI. Got my AP Diver V5 from Torobravos in a perfect service. Toro is a TD here on RWG. It´s a stunner of a watch lookwise and qualitywise.
  6. Welcome to RWG. Hope to soon see some pictures of Your existing collection here on the forum. And meanwhile You may add AP, Breitling, Panerai, TAG, Hublot and other brands. Wish You lots of fun and good choices.
  7. Hi and welcome to the forum. Look around and You will find what You are seeking. Than You will be so impressed that You will feel the need to buy lots of other watches. Welcome to rwg
  8. Welcome to the forum and the beautiful world of watches. Bienvenido amigo
  9. Both are exceptional watches. Got the AP Royal Oak 15400 from Ryan at Intime (BP Maker version) and the AP Diver V5 from Toro. Love and wear them both. If the APRO is a fantastic watch the overall feel, touch and gen-likeness of the Diver is still superior - its outstanding, looks, movement, working of the stem and crown etc.. The rubber strap of the Diver is very comfortable but sometimes I would like to change it. Have not found a steel bracelet for it yet and that will be another 130 or more and than also wanted a hornback too (was told the AProos don´t fit the Diver) and yet more cost. Lume is not outstanding but longlasting, readable all night on both. The 15400 is perfect on the bracelet it comes with and the steel bracelet is fantastic, don´t want to change anything there, so put this into consideration. Also the 15400 can be worn in all situations/ occasions, sporty or dressy and concealable below the sleeve, the Diver at least with rubberstrap cannot. Sooner or later You need both:) Here are some pics to compare, well this got pic-heavy: and for finals maybe You get the Diver as it´s a superrep and consider this inexpensive but great Hublot - Quartz Hublot Classic Fusion Chronograph Racing Grey (from Kuvarsit TD on other forum) with a fantastic double-deployant bracelet (big and small links adjustable by screw) and NO ticking second hand at all (except if You use the chrono)
  10. Never heard of that, just lume fading or getting weaker, or falling off if the watch dropped. Or is there humidity inside? Do You have some macro-shots?
  11. Awesome! Fantastic watch. Got the V5 Diver from Toro jit before x-mas and its absolutely amazing. In black with the eye-catching blue second hand it looks fantastic too. Wear it well.
  12. Great. Thx for the Daytona lume-shots. The blue GMT is amazing, all are impressive, fantastic to have a life-closer look at the gens. It´s the overall look and how everything comes perfectly together.
  13. Vintage watch, strap and foto setting just wonderful. Nostalgia pure. Many thanks. And that caseback shot - wonderful, somehow was expecting a closed one and not such a beauty rear side.
  14. Hey Docthor that is ..... that is.... ohhh what did You do? That is simply beautiful.... amazing. I love it:) Congrats on a wonderful masterpiece of time.
  15. Those were the days a man could still stand a drink and a cig. Those agents wouldn´t make it to age 50 anyways so there´s no way to prove...... Must have been fun at least. Btw Sir Connery is 83 and Sir Moore 86
  16. Just love the Daytona on the left, looks impressive. Great buys and You´re gathering a fantastic collection. Congrats. Tried to get a rep of it but had to give up, either minutes would not reset at 12´or markers where visibly unaligned or misplaced. Ordered a Cadell rouge (TC sub) instead. Might give it a try next Year again. Would be great if You could post some lumeshots of both to see how the gen glows. Even better if You get a rep in 2014 and compare it - that really would be something.... and a way for You to wear it, too. Somehow indirectly You proved a point I made for myself in the past, thanks for that: When You finally own the gen, You can´t wear it because it is too precious, might get robbed, might fall down etc. so most of the time it sits in the safe, keeping or increasing its value. One of the major points in favour of reps: You wear it when You like and how You like and do whatever You need to do, if it breaks its a pity but easily replaceable, not only money but also availability being the issue here. Thanks for the post and pictures of the Sub and especially the Blnr are a must and: did You use the Sub for swimming/diving/showering already?
  17. Andrew is very fast when it comes to answering and QC pictures. Didn´t buy yet from PC but You´re ok with both. Shipping times will depend on Your location, if its EU (except GB) 3 to 4 weeks and sometimes longer, depends on the transport company shipping to Your country, not on the TD. More interesting: What did You order?
  18. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to All Forum Members and Watch Enthusiasts all over the World Enjoy, Best from second 10´ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-D1KVIuvjA and a gadget:
  19. Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711-1A This is what the simple Asian 4813 version looks like. Its a perfect dresswatch, 42 mm case, 11,2 mm thick, because of the nautical portholes Gerald Genta design and smooth polish it slides perfectly under the cuffs of Your shirt, like no other watch. Despite the Jumbo - name and the 42 mm case its a smaller watch than the ones today are going. Do love Genta´s classical 1976 design and the 1972 Audemars Piguet RO 15400 too. Think it looks very good and catches well the light, depending on movement and quality of lume the prices range from 168 to 528 USD plus shipping. The caseback is not gen-like but the better versions only have a nicer rotor - You can´t replicate the genuine in-house movement. Most reps have an additional two lugholes on the first link of the bracelet which the Gen has not (except ladies version). Have to say that I love the watch, it wears flat and smooth, the minor flaws don´t bother at all. Just adding that imop the lesser functions and hands and wheels a rep has the more gen-like and higher quality it is (there is simply less to go wrong). The simple movement on this one is very good, if You save the money and can live with the weaker lume You can get the AP 15400 additionally which was what I did. Other considerations: The Gen is a very expensive watch, the chrono even more so, goes used for around 30.000 USD; so You have to pull that off. The one I do like most because of the way the day/date is displaced and the moonphase of course is the 5726/1A-001. Because this one is such a nice watch maybe someday I will try to get that one too. Wishing You good choices and a nice watch... Tip: choose 3 dealers from the TD list and look what they have. Decide for one of them... there You go. This is what the simple 21j caseback looks like:
  20. Waiting for an endless time, now all are arriving at once, so I´m wearing them all
  21. Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Jumbo 15400 Black/SS (BP Maker) – from Ryan/Intime (TD on RWI) Audemars Piquet Royal Oak Offshore Diver (V5) – from Toro
  22. AP Royal Oak 15400 (BP Maker)/ AP ROO Diver V5 (best quality rep ever, got it yesterday)
  23. The point being reps hitting prices where a variety of gens, Seiko and Steinhart included offer: nice casing, warranty, reliable waterproofness, reliable movement, instruction booklet, fast shipping, well aligned dials and You get a replacement/ refund if something doesn´t work or You don´t like it. In the rep segment over 420 usd (including shipping) meanwhile there are really fantastic reps and some of them are really top-notch but often You still get misaligned dials, falling off hands, breaking stems.... These are the first posts I read where everybody doesn´t immediately scream: go buy a gen..... And yet, sometimes lucky: Yesterday got an AP Diver V5 from Toro - astonishing, really impressed by overall quality, including smoothness of stem working. The 1991 16570 Explorer II says Swiss t-25 as the one above, later versions just say Swiss Made. Can somebody specify what´s wrong with the dial and hands? Maybe the GMT hand has a little darker red... Looks good to me, compared with gen pictures, its a less blingy very nice watch anyway. Gen:
  24. They are cheap. What? They are not like gen. Oh no! They are quartz! Ohhh, Nooh Can they be fun? Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Chronograph Grey Graphite (from Ryan at Intime/TD on RWI), seconds at 6 instead of at 12, date at 6, 24hr indicator at 3, fully functional Chronograph, this is a classic sportswatch, by reversing the face You protect it (and fun to play with) IWC Portuguesa Chronograph white fantasy (from Trusty) this one doesn´t have the sec´s at 6 problem, it has date at 4, 24hr indicator at 3 and a working Chronograph TAG Heuer Aquaracer Grande Date 300m Quartz Swiss Ronda, white (from Sead) this is 100% gen-like and features a reliable crazily fast and sweeping (!) 1/10th second hand at 6. Best otb – lumed quartz rep. with a nice, big date; Comes with a SS bracelet, haven´t removed the links yet. The main second hand is locked at 12´ - great! unless You are using the chrono
