Hello guys it's been a while since I last posted, but in the mean time I purchased an automatic Pam rep from Andrew. When I received the watch I noticed that the seconds dial wasn't moving and that scared me. I tried to start the watch by gently moving the automatic winder, but unfortunately it doesn't start. I was wondering if anyone can give me any advice on how to start the watch, considering that it is automatic. I contacted Trusty and I am waiting for a response, but I figured I should ask someone with knowledge on what I should do. Thanks guys. Here's the model I ordered: http://www.ttw888.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=37_413&products_id=10525

Welcome and more likely to get a faulty auto movement than a quartz.
That's interesting, I thought quartz's might be more faulty, but now that I think about it you're right because there are swiss quartz watches that are made with quality as opposed to some sugar-coated automatics.

I have searched around the forum for a while and I have gained a lot of knowledge about watches, brands, and TDs. I just wanted to thank you all for your help by posting resourceful threads and posts.
I have yet to purchase my first rep/homage, but for now it is all about researching and finding reviews. I have searched around the TDs section and I was stuck to silix, but I realized that
there were not very satisfying reviews. I also happened to find watcheden and trustytime, which I have checked out. The only thing that has stumped me is that I cannot find any high-quality Patek Philippe Calatrava ref. 5123, 5127, or 5107 models. I went on trusty's site and I saw a 5107 and a 5127, but they did not seem to be the same model. I am open to any suggestions that you all may have in finding a high-quality Calatrava model . Thanks for your time.
Edit: I found this thread made by ubiquitous, which is the last forum that I recall posting a calatrava model: http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/163609-1940s-ppco-chrono-build/page-2?hl=%2Bcalatrava#entry1276687
His watch could by far be one of the nicest reps I have seen on this site and it would be nice to find one similar to it. I do not want to make any modifications to a watch if I buy one atm,
as I am one that would probably break something opening a delicate timepiece. I do not want to buy a watch that looks appealing on the outside, yet have some faulty quartz movement on the inside.

tanner,
Just as there are higher end merchants in our lives, and cutrate ones as well.. sometimes more satisfaction and even better merchandise can be found with a higher price.. better customer service too.
I would tend to agree with TeeJay.
The very best of luck to you!

Several years ago, I had very mixed results with Silix. Items were received, but of unacceptable quality. They may have improved over the years, but personally, I would suggest trying another dealer. Any other dealer... Best of luck
Thanks guys for your insight, I will take your advice on finding another TD. Any suggestions for a first time buy and not too high-end in terms of pricing?

Hello guys I have searched around the forums for a while and have found that I would like my first order to be from the TD Silix.
I have picked out the two watches that I would like to purchase and I have contacted silix-prime.so through their contact us, as well as their email address: silixprime@gmail.com, but I never received a response. It has been about three days now since I have sent the email regarding whether the items are in stock.
These are the two reps that I would like to buy:
http://www.silix-prime.so/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=116_231&products_id=2325
http://www.silix-prime.so/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=116_271&products_id=4108
Despite the fact that the listing says "in stock," I read somewhere on this forum that most dealers do not update the amount of stock often. I am usually the type to clarify before I buy something just to make sure that I get the right watches etc.
Thanks guys for taking the time to read this

That's a very nice set-up you've got there. I have a 2008 iMac model with 1GB of RAM, and 2.4ghz running Snow Leopard, which probably is something that I should not be running because it is so damn slow. On my other computer I am running Hackintosh Mavericks DP1 on my set-up because I love Apple's products.

These two cars are undoubtedly my favorite two cars:
Ferrari 458 Italia
Porsche Carrera GT

Hello guys thanks a lot for responding. I received an email back from Andrew and he gave me a list of instructions to try and get the watch to work. Unfortunately the watch must have arrived DOA,
but Andrew said I can send it back and his watch smith will try and repair it.
I also ordered an Omega seamaster rep from Andrew and it looks great.Once I receive the Pam back from Andrew I will make sure to upload some pics and leave a review.
Have a great day guys and once again, thanks for your help.
