  1. Freddy: I spoke to a few indy watchsmiths and they can't get the part because Rolex require they have the required tool/machine (I believe there account levels. The higher the level the more selection they can order and to level up require they own certain machines from rolex) and since the watch is pretty new, the watchsmiths don't have the Rolex Required tool and are not allow to order that specific part.

HikeUSA: Haha. I'll keep my Gen, but my collection of reps are ever growing! Love that pic btw. Hehe

jmb: By golly!!!! That never even crossed my mind. Thanks. I can mass produce these things and start selling. :clap2:

  2. I wish somone would buy and disect one.

Too bad about the bezel construction. If they had done the right case with the new movement and all of it was at least close to 1:1, they'd sell like hotcakes. They come so close on so many aspects of these watches, I wonder why there is always some major construction flaw on any given model. Surely they read the boards and they must know what we want. All of the parts that we swap could be made like crap on the watch...just get the 1:1 basic correct.

I think they purposely introduce small margin of errors while 'fixing' older problems whenever they release a new watch. I don't think they want to do a true 1:1 to avoid a SWAT team kicking down their doors. Remember the Omega Seamaster ordeal back then? The rep was so good that even rwg members couldn't tell a Rep from a Gen with a few minor mods. The HE valve was in the correct position, which usually is a dead give away when those reps. Anyway, Omega had to do something to stop them from producing. That's all I remember reading from the old rwg.

  3. They want me to do a full service just to replace that sily ring. Service is around $700ish if I remember correctly because they deemed the watch has been abused (they concluded that excessive force was used to cause the bezel to fall off... false) and need to "fix" the movement. The watch continues to keep perfect time. I shouldn't have said I knocked it again my 18 wheeler while I was moving crates and instead claim it fell out on its own. Should have kept my mouth shut... RSC can suck it. I'm going to find that silly nylon ring one way or another even if I have to put that watch away for a year or so. It's principlely F'ed up for them to demand that I need my watch full serviced for them to replace the ring.

For all you Rolex owners... If you ever want something replaced without them siphoning $ from your pockets then never say it broke because of hitting the watch on something otherwise they'll need you to do a full service to fix your minor concern.

    Sorry for venting.

  4. If so, would you please post some pictures so I can see the parts involved underneath the bezel? I'm missing a Nylon Ringer Fastener (is fitted inside the bezel ring) for my Gen GMT IIc and want to know if i can use the same part as the rep to fix mine (if present in the rep). Thanks a million!

I love this place. Can't wait for the review of the 3135 superclone. I'll have a heck of a field trip if that thing takes gen dial etc. Sorry for the tangent. :)

  5. I have a DW vj72 case from years ago that came with the screw down pushers. I have read that the ones that came with the set isn't as accruate as the "teeth" are spaced further apart than the gen. Now would the ones from Ofrei and various other vendors fit because i also read that the threading in the case for the screw down pushers is different.

  6. Hi AJS:

I'd recommend ASmallOrange.com for hosting. It cost $15 a year(I know you want free, but this is as close to free as there is) :)

As for a free e-commerce software, I'd recommend CubeCart and integrate that with Paypal like what others have said. Hope that helps!

Thank you for the responses, as i said i have no clue what im doing, its really just for a bit of fun to se how it all works.

I appreciate the feedback and the responses.

Ill try the link that submariner gave.

    Cheers RWG is the best!

  7. You sir, have very good eyes. I actually had a pic of the gen to compare and I wasn't able to find anything, which lead me to believe that this purchase was too good to be true. Thank you!

Aside from the lint at the six o'clock sub dial, it looks too new!

    Seriously though:

    1. the stick markers are too close to the tritium dots

    2. t swiss t is either a tad too big, but again too close to the sub dial at 6

    3. "daytona " coloring is a bit off

    4. the marker spacing in the subdials (3,6,9,12) are a tad off as well

    5. the tic markers are a bit too bold

    6. The spacing and size of ROLEX, OYSTER and CHRONOGRAPH is a bit off

    7. the tick markers (10,20) at the subdial at 6 and 9 should be longer, and bolder and touch the ends of the subdials

    8. the tick markers (5,15) at the subdial at 3 should be longer, and bolder and touch the ends of the subdial

Nevertheless, it is a very good dial. the crown is at the correct spot. And If I didnt have a pic of a gen to compare it to, it would probably fool me at first.

What do you think, Gen on the left.

  8. Hi all,

I just have to get myself one after seeing some beautiful 3717s. I know that there are multiple variations of the 3717, so can you guys explain the differences and how many variations there are? Who is also selling the best ones? :) Thanks in advance.

  9. Just got the watch back not too long ago and it looks wonderful. I had my hesitation at first knowing I was sending something of value to a complete stranger whom I might never hear from again, but all fear and reservation bleed away like paint on a wet canvas when I saw the wonderful job he did to my watch on its return. The good ol' chap from the north surely has earned a stone engraved place in my book when it comes to watches, so without further ado......... Here's my 'ziggified' watch! :)

    Info on this project:

It was a fun project and took awhile to get the parts I wanted. My initial idea was to purchase a moon watch on eBay and have it be sent to Zig for work, but after having won the dial on eBay for a really good price totally placed me in the 'Gotta catch'em all' Pokemon mode where I would browse the bay for parts to buy. In the end, the watch cost more than what I would have gotten it for if i were to buy it on eBay as a whole.
