  1. Look at the lume markers, they are a different style and have been removed at 3, 6, 9 and 12, also see that "Seamaster" is red and the "Omega" is raised silver logo.....

This is a replica of the new Omega SMP, the replica you (and I) have is of the old (now discontinued Omega) SMP chronograph...

    Cheers! B)

    i saw it !! :D

Still like mine more than the pics above....is my daily beater now !!

  2. 1665 is the old vintage from the late 60's - mid 80's (uses the Rolex caliber 1570). This has an acrylic crystal and matte dial with painted markers.

16660 is from the mid 80's - 90's (uses the 3035 caliber). This model is the first sapphire model with both matte and gloss dials.

    166

00 is the current model which is still in production up to the M serial where I believe it will be discontinued (this one uses the 3135 caliber). This model is of course sapphire and with the gloss dial.

    Hope this helps...

    Cheers,

    R

    Hi R,

Thanks a lot, it really helps, nice to know the difference between the models.

So thnx to ubiquitous, how is the accuracy of the 16600 ? :D

    Cheers Jason

  3. Ok. 2008 has been an interesting year for me in terms of reps. I have always liked watches but am no WIS. Would buy a watch once a year or so (gens) but then sell them off to get other watches. This year, I have been using my funds on reps and modding (ok not by myself). This year alone I have bought

Corum Admiral Cup Competition K222 Ar Coating/Swapping of Day Date Wheel (sold)

Chopard GT XL Chrono Grey Dial (sold)

    Ferrari 008 (sold)

IWC Ingy Lello DW K222 Ar Coating

IWC CD 06, The Zigmeister serviced relumed and now in proces of swapping with Swiss 7750

Pam 252 North Pole (modding in process)

    Pam 111H (modding in process)

Looking at the reps I have, I realize that they are all leather/rubber strap combo except for Ingy. I am now looking at getting a watch with bracelet and woud to ask for any opinions or suggestion. size wise between 42-45mm. I am considering the Omega UPO and swapping it with gen parts but would love to hear any other oinions.

    Thanks!

Def. buy the SMP chrono...... !! :D

  4. There is. It's called the law.

A gen Rolex owner thinks you're identical to the guy with the quartz.

Just reading this topic, and i know it's been a while Pugwash made his comment....

But how great comment it is.. !!!! respect Pug !!

    Laughing my *ss off :D

And for what is worth, the 2 posts here above ..couldn't have said it better myself.... ( here in Holland it's not done either showing off what you've got )

  5. AR on this model is actually incorrect. Later models of the SMP Chrono have AR...so in this case, we are lucky to not have it. I have one with the ETA datewheel installed. I'll try and shoot some comparison shots one of these days.

would be great !!, i'm not going to have it AR't, it's fine like this....

  6. This morning my SMP chrono came in ( thnx PT)

The factory rept this one again, the bezel is in the right place now..... :D

The datewindow is to close to the chronometer, that's a shame, the writing doesn't have the red colors, but pearl looks nice, and i think they have changed the case as well, the crown screws in really deep.....

What do you guys think,is it improved or not ? i'm not sure

And !!!!!!!! thumbs up and many thanks to by-tor for his review of the chrono, without him, i wouldn't have known what i know now......

    So, many many thanks..
