  1. I just rec'd a MM Sub from Singapore. The quality was excellent but the bezel function is odd. It fits snugly and turns smoothly but only locks in five minute increments. I've never seen or heard of a dive bezel like this before. Older divers are often not ratcheted or unidirectional, modern diver are usually unidirectional and ratchet in half or full minute increments, but 5 minute increments? Whats the point? I've never handled a PAM Sub, this isn't a PAM feature that they are emulating, is it? Thanks.
  2. The good. I purchased this rep at a popular NYC location. Amid the hustle and bustel the fit & finish looked comparable to the rep I bought from a reputable on-line purveyor. And the price was right. The bad. When I later pulled the watch out of my pocket for closer inspection I found that it wasn't running. No amount of winding, shaking or pusher pushing had any effect. In fact the pushers only served to advance the second and minute counters. Oh well, it looks good and was cheap I can wear it a while and give it away, right? Well no... And the ugly. Upon arriving home I popped the hood for a look-see. This rep obviously contains a very low quality automatic movement. The motion of the pushers are translated to the dial via plastic tabs. The setting/adjustment button at ten o'clock on the case is a spring loaded nothing. The problem is the small gold colored balance wheel which was not properly fitted. I managed to (easily) pop off the retaining arm that holds it in place, re-install the whole mess and make it run. Must have been dumb luck since I could not accomplish this feat a second time and may have in the process deranged the spring associated with this wheel. So what are my options? Local watchmaker? Movement replacement? Any go-to sources for rep collectors that could tune this thing up? Or am I throwing good money after bad? Feel free to email any resources that may not be appropriate for an open forum. And thanks!
