  1. wow - this is a cool thread.

I've done some waterslide decals for printing graphics on a guitar amplifier and a few pedals I've built.  Once you get the technique, they can be very effective.

how would these look from a high end color laser?

  2. I don't know about the future value.  If it's solid gold, it'll hold up better in the future.

My only advice is that if you inherited it from a family member you have fond memories of, you might consider keeping it.  I inherited an Omega watch from my grandfather.  It's gold filled and not very valuable, but I imagined when he bought it after getting out of the service.  It's one of the few things I have that directly connect me to him now that he's passed.

Anyway, I'd encourage you to keep it if there's sentimental value attached to it.

  3. Nice looking rep!!!  Thanks for sharing your purchase from Phong.  I know some members here are probably fairly familiar with what he offers, but I've seen little in the way of actual pieces purchased from Phong from forum members.

He's kind of a back woods kinda guy.  I don't know that he ever posts on the forums or participates in the community in any connectable way.  Maybe he does under a pseudonym... but he seems rather elusive, and his pieces are priced such that you're not going to see them very often on the fora.   I've looked at his photos on his site, and they're not high enough resolution or photo quality to compel me to spend the numbers he's asking.  So it seems like a bit of a gamble overall...  but you have a nice looking watch!  wear it well!

  4. The P series, which would be near the end of the lug hole cases has a slightly different dial.

The second markers normally enclosing SWISS MADE are the same height as the ones underneath SWISS MADE.  That's the biggest difference that jumps out at me.  Also, I believe those period dials were Luminova.  Later, Rolex started using Super Luminova.

However, it could be a service dial...   :)
