  1. The HE valve (HEV) placement, fer cryin' out loud!
  2. That Omega is also a fantasy watch. It wan't (as far as I know) ever in black. The crown guards (& I'm guessing the rest of the casing) are very Rolex-like. The gear you'll find through dealers here, as you'll see in the pictures of others' reps, are very close to the real thing, and generally of good quality. Don't take my word for it. Take the weekend to scour the boards. I'm sure some other members will pitch in soon with their thoughts.
  3. Yes, er..ah..well, now..you raise a..hmm..er..whew! Now, let's start at the beginning, shall us?! Firstly, it appears you're (what we fondly refer to as) a noobie. Welcome! Now, quartz-v-auto is a debate in itself, and as such (I believe) has its own thread. If not we should start one and name it appropriately, "Fred"(?) As for never having bought online before, well..what can I say? We were all virgins once. Even the girls at the 'Kit Kat Klub'! That's what these fora are for-a (see what I did there)? Do yer readin' and researchin', and then yer buyin', and postin' - NOT forgetting to post photo's of your purchases, or we get very upset..
  4. Quite a few dealers carry (a rep of) that one, and they're as good as their 2531.80.00
  5. Well, yes, but then again, no: Omega's chronometers are all certified. They just don't seem to care so much about the *chronomaters, eh, fakey? *chronomater [n.] Strict, time-keeping mother (antiquated)
  6. That sounds about right. The film, "Blood Diamond" said it all (and then some). However, in more important news, Col, "Whatcha drivin', lad"?!
  7. I was earlier, but I was late getting back because I always wash my hands afterwards..but thanks for asking (I think)!

  9. Thanks. Hey, what?...I resemble that remark!
  10. I bought matching his/hers reps when we got engaged. You're right - it's a no-brainer, and a win-win! :1a:
  11. I don't know about the rest of you, but I (regrettably) do not have photos of most of my beloved ex-cars..nor of my ex-girlfriends, for that matter. This thread was, I believe "What ARE you driving"? Somewhere, someone listed his ex's, and I'm sorry you were offended. I could take some new pics of nice cars (and girls) and post them, but there's not much point in doing that, is there? If I close my eyes and try really hard, I can remember most of the girls' names (all right then, faces..or other..no, I'm going with faces) of ex's.....
  12. Why do you ask? I assumed it was for the same reason we drove right past it the first time around..
  13. Ah, yes. I see that sir has contracted the old 20/20 hindsight affliction! I don't think I have known anyone who managed to escape this one. I lived in a third world country for a while, and have never had what could be described as real disposable income, even since returning to the west. I am proud to have owned the following rides (starting in 1982 at age 26 on a visit to the USA en route back to Blighty, and mostly one at a time): Fiat Spyder 850 (knackered, went through 3 clutch cables in the two months I owned it) VW 1200cc Beetle '74 BMW 1502 '73 BMW 2002tii '75 BMW 2002tii '85 Saab 900 Turbo (the only one I part-exed a car for and had monthly payments on) Yamaha XS-250 Custom Kawasaki Z-750 Honda Revere NTV-600 Honda CX-500/C '83 Yamaha XJ-750 Seca '90 Honda VFR-750 BMW R-1100 RS '91 Honda VFR 750 '82 Yamaha XJ-750 Seca '87 BMW K-75 '88 Saab 900 Turbo Convertible '97 Saab 900 SE Turbo Coup
  14. :gathering: What a lovely bunch of peeps we are!
  15. You say the loonies are getting smarter..?
  16. I believe Kramer can 'hook you up' with a Bro!
  17. 1. Your (possessive) sick man, or 2. You're (you are) a sick man?
  18. Try this one I have saved in my fleabay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...A:IT&ih=021
  19. The B&R are growing on me. Especially the first one in post #1 of this thread. *Since getting my gen SMP 2531 in May, I tend to alternate between that and my SMP chrono from Andrew!
  20. "Wind up like this"! Now, that's funny (not very windy today, though)..
