The correct watch would be the one which you feel most comfortable with. Yes there are some fundamental guides to optimal watch sizes but I think that physical attributes aside, the choice of watches depends also on the attitude of the wearer.
No I am not advocating the fashion sense of flava flav but wear what you like and wear it proudly.

I tread softly along the fine line separating raving insanity and lucid moments of ingenuity. The issue is I've no idea which is which mostly.

Lol Flava Flav! I do tend to push the edge a bit with fashion but typically won't go too far over the line. Maybe the answer is to have a couple different ones to choose from. I do have the same date adjust I posted but find it a tab small...but it is great for professional settings. The thing is it's not a high quality rep. It feels good on in terms of weight, but a couple details are wrong and it runs fast.

I dipped my toe into the rep watch world a couple years ago but only paid $160 for each of my reps from a local guy who has a hidden shop within his store. I have the date adjust, the presidential and a chanel j12. The presidential was for my DH but it's cheesy so he gave it to our daughter.  Oddly they've never stopped working and haven't fallen apart at all, but I rotate my watches almost daily. I just wish the finer details were correct.

I recently serviced this (gen) for a customer. It is women's 'mid' size at 36mm.

She is around 5' 2" and very petite, the watch looked perfect IMO. I wouldn't go for a Daytona like you have above, way too big.

    36mm is a good, modern size women's watch ;)

I agree! I think 36MM may be the way to go! Thanks so much for taking the time to respond and show photos! :)

If you ask me, don't ask for others opinions but buy what ever watch you like and you can see yourself wearing! :thumbsupsmileyanim:

I know and have seen a LOT of women wearing regular sized watches such as Subs, GMTs, Daytonas and even APs! And let me tell you, on 9 out of 10 of these people these watches looked amazing on them. I have digged out a few pics for you to judge for yourself. :)

Anyway, whatever you do, make sure to post it on here! :thumbsupsmileyanim:

See... this is why I am super attacked to that look! My wrist is 6.5" and just wonder if it would be dwarfed. I think I need to go to the Rolex store in Scottsdale to try some on. Great photos! Thanks for hunting them down for me!! Very thoughtful.

I will be sure to post which direction I go. By the way, I have a rep of the date adjust like the on I posted here...not great quality and runs fast too. I like it, just wish it was just a bit bigger. I am finding it feels a bit small on my wrist. I am not sure if it's 36MM....I will have to compare it to my Gen Michele, which is 39"

I have an off topic question....

I just got the 1:1 Best Quality Rolex James Cameron Sea Dweller for my DH for Xmas from Puretime (I love them!) and had it sized at a local family owned jewelry store, but a pin fell out a day later. Is this normal and can I fix it myself with the right tools? It was perfectly fine until the jeweler touched it. Anyway...if I can fix it myself, which tool set would you recommend? I am a DIY kinda gal who loves to tinker with watches, jewelry and bags!

    Thanks for any advice!

ps. I have that exact leather jacket too! ;)

  3. Would love your opinion on which model you think would look best on a woman's wrist. I am petite but tend to wear chunkier pieces, I do like bigger watches but not so big it looks silly on me.

I am considering these but would love advice. Also, would love your thoughts on which Rolex's have been repp'd the best? I think I read J21 is good but am researching the topic a bit more.

    Thanks for any advice ;)

  4. Bought this for my hubby for Christmas. I took it to a family jewelry store to size but the pin fell out after wearing it once. Is this normal? I am taking it back for him to fix it today but I am a DIY person. I like fixing and tinkering with things...if I got a good repair kit, would I be able to deal with these issues my self in the future?

It's from Puretime, paid around $400 for 1:1 Best Quality...it's really nice but I am a rookie.

  5. Did I buy a piece of junk? What do you savvy and experienced b241024cb345e023382c4885a79a2537.jpgcollectors think of this one?

Couple more pics. Hope they aren't too blurry. May be time for eye exam since I can't tell anymore!

  6. Found TT, thank god cuz getting ready to order a couple new watches for the DH again. He's jones-in for something new and he finally hears me about not only buying Gen when we have to spend 300 to 500 every couple years to keep his Gen Breitling running right! Now decisions decisions.

  7. Really great info and I appreciate your honest input and opinions a so much. Most of my other "items" go through SF and so far it's been ok.

I'll take your advice about not buying watches that aren't made by a watch maker, makes sense. Hubs liked that Oakley watch that's why we got it, but we have alot to learn! We have several Invicta ' s too and have no idea if they are good to collect, we just liked the way they looked back when we got them a few years ago. Not sure what to do with them now since we don't wear gold these days.

Again, thanks so much for your help and for taking the time to share your knowledge with me.

  8. Not quite but close ...

GREAT NEWS!! I found it!! Apparently I took it off and put it in my glove compartment, which is very deep and an odd thing for me to do. Our trip was by car since it was fairly close, so i must of removed it during my weird fade in/out sleepiness I get on road trips. I wasn't driving at the moment btw ;)

  9. I've lost things in hotel rooms, never got them back. The cleaners always nick anything they find :(

Hope you have better luck with the watch.

Once they stole a piece of my lingerie from a hotel room...which was very creepy. It was the first piece my DH ever gave me so it was so special to me.

As someone who spends about half his time in hotels I'd say there are some honest cleaners too and sometimes you do get stuff back!

Well you are right! I did get my pillow back I left once. Shipping was more than my pillow however lol!

  10. That's a lousy feeling.

On the bright side, if it was a gen, you'd be out $6k. That's one of the wonderful things about reps! My daily beater is an Omega PO that I've treated horribly. I swim with it, wear it doing remodeling work, built a stonewall while wearing it, etc. It's so scratched up now it looks terrible. But on the bright side, it cost me $225 and those lovely Omega LMPO's are calling my name!

Still it's lousy to lose a watch you love. Hope you find it. If not, you should drown your sorrow in a new Cartier or Rolex to ease the pain until it turns up in some small pocket you didn't realize was in your luggage... :)

You are so right! It still just kills me when I do something dumb like this. But yes, I will ease the pain quickly :)

  11. I feel so stupid and carelees! I was on vacation last week and moved rooms twice due to a noisy chrisitan teen choir staying on our floor. I am a PK so not judgement about the choir, they were just being kids. That said, when I was in choir we would have been returned home if we had behaved the way they did....

BUT anyway, I am so worried I left my White Chanel J12 in one of the rooms. I have a watch/jewelry case I keep it all in when traveling and it wasn't there when I uppacked. I am the one in our family who runs around reminding everybody to triple check the rooms before we leave... yet it's me who lost her watch!

Please send positive vibes out there for me to find it! Thanks!

  12. Nice diamond chrono. If you don't mind the larger watches, you're going to be spoiled for choice here. I'm thinking of buying my wife a Cartier Ballon Bleu rep that looks pretty nice. It's a larger larger watch than what she typically wears though so I'm not sure if she'll like it.

I just figured out my Michele is a 36 and it's pretty substantial on my wrist. I personally will probably choose the Cartier Ballon Bleu closer to that size.

I love larger watches. I am hunting for that exact watch now. I love it!! I bet your wife will too. It's such a cool look imo.

OK cc33, I'll see your Big Crown and raise you one!  Skanky pearl and all......... I'm working on that.  :partytime:
