  1. In the sun or under good lighting, it would blind you!
  2. Me too! I adjust mine 2-3 times a day. It's so easy to do. Your bracelet always fits perfectly.
  3. Can't remember if I ever posted these pictures here. Probably did but you know what old age does to the memory
  4. I bought 5 watches from Amatory.biz way back when. I had to buy 5 to get the "wholesale" price. It was a different experience. They called me shortly after ordering to confirm the order, and they called me after the watches arrived. As for the watches, they're decent cheapos. Even at "wholesale" price they were about double what I should have paid. Aside from a tiny screw that fell out of one of my wife's watches, they all still run fine today. One of them is one of my wife's current fav. (She's easy to please, though.) You're far better off here rather than out there in the rep jungle. You could get a Noobmariner for what I paid for one of those Amatory watches.
  5. That was the first time 904L steel was used on any Rolex, or any watch I believe, Sub or not. (I'm not really a vintage expert. I looked it up for you on a Rolex forum.)
  6. 904 made it's debut with the reference 168000 circa 1987-88.
  7. I don't know anything about the watch but here's a link you might be interested in: http://doubleredseadweller.com/
  8. Robert of Time4Direct (RWI) and Precious Watch Company (RG) sells this white seconds-at-nine replica. I have no idea if the dial is the same as yours but he might know. He has forums on both boards. Silix also sells these but it's hard to get him to reply.
  9. I had a problem with my Graham Oversized Chronofighter and called the only watch guy listed in the YP's of my 230,000 population town. He hemmed and hawed but agreed to look at it, thinking it was a $25 Canal Street watch. He was blown away by the watch but refused to work on it because it was a chrono. Good for him. I wouldn't want him working on it anyway. I sent it back to Sead who fixed it for free as it was still under warranty. I think I'll stick with the watchmen on the fora from now on.
  10. Also, my wife went round-and-round with the replica handbags. No matter how convincing the bag is, the stitching always fails. After seeing 4 or 5 of them apart at the strap I bought her a gen Coach. It was $300-something
  11. This glidelock clasp? (This is V1-V3 doesn't have polished midlinks.) Pretty much all the dealers sell this: 21J, ETA-clone, and ETA.
  12. You have to have a crystal press to make that kind of adjustment. Little "flaws" like that are common in reps, especially the mass produced ones.
  13. My wife is addicted to that show. There's all kinds of product placement advertising on TV these days. They used to have Penta water on Biggest Hoser but Penta must have stopped shelling out the $ because they've been gone for a couple of years. I'm all for losing weight and getting healthy, but I can't stand any "reality" show.
  14. Chrono watches are much more difficult to make water resistant than non-chrono watches. PO has the helium value, another weak spot. IMO, best our-of-the-box for water use are the Breitling Superocean Steelfish watches. I've also taken my SlyTech (a chrono watch) and noob Sub into the water. Best advice is to grease the seals yourself or have a watchman do it for you. Then have it tested to see how deep it will go. Doesn't cost much and can usually be done locally. To do anything else is to guess. I guessed with the 3 watches I mentioned above and did okay. Also, it's not uncommon for reps to arrive with a loose caseback. Edit to add: keep this in mind:
  15. I keep forgetting. Clockpilot: I got the same email and was told my watch would arrive on 2/25. I emailed them and asked if I would get notification when it shipped but haven't heard back. A guy recently said he got his a week earlier than he was told. Where does WM9 ship from?
  16. That's not what his website says. I hope I didn't lead anyone astray here. If I get a goofy one, maybe BK can fix it for me? Since we're practically neighbors. I'm all thumbs when it comes to fixing these kinds of flaws.
  17. Welcome and good luck! You have a good attitude for a "noob." You'll do well here.
  18. I like Freddie's vintage Rollies.
  19. New Slicemaster, is your wrist broken? Old and new:
