Hello, can someone tell me what version it is?

    Greetings from Germany

I may be getting my "Vs" mixed up, but I believe it's a v2. The first release had crappy, 1-sided AR; had "less-crisp" engraving on the bezel; was missing the "tick" just below the 10 on the minute sudial (at 12:00), and had the correct, short, minute markers at the 59, 14, 16, 29, 31, and 44 (but not the 01 and 46 - go figure) minutes. It also had dark hands on the hour, minute, chrono second, and subdials. Your pics appear to show the dark hands, but it might be the lighting.

The v2 corrected the missing tick @ 10 on the 12:00 sub, corrected the hand color to silver, and came with double-sided AR, but lengthened the minute markers on the quarter hours. It also had a better-engraved bezel. Both the v1 and v2 came with crappy font, though some of the v2s were better than others. The correct font didn't come out until the Skylands, BCE V3s, and Super Avengers.

  2. I bet he's going to show the Tag sales rep when he/she comes by. He/She'll probably have it shipped off to Swiss and a bunch of Swiss guys in a stark white room with white aprons on will disect it and...

and THEY WILL MAKE IT TALK! It'll tell them where it came from - the dealer, the factory - everything they want to know.... maybe not, but probably not a great thing just the same....

  3. I've got a black dial and a blue dial... the AR tint makes the black look blue, and the blue look black... makes me confused... but, IMO, it lessens the importance of the dial color choice, as given the right (wrong?) light, the AR tint makes them all appear bluish

  4. It looks pretty good to me - correct tics, correct black subdial hands, the dial font looks pretty good, the crown looks ok (need an expert to chime in) too. The lever and pushers look a little off, and the printing on the rotor looks sloppy. I've heard also that the sapphire crystals are more prone to exploding, but no personal experience with that. It'd be great if the price works its way down on this one (ala APROO, Graham Diver's, most recently the Skyland)....

  5. I love this watch, I've put a gen bezel and bracelet on my graphite and will soon be adding a gen B13 movement.

But I wish they would fix the one glaring flaw with this rep. The 1, 14, 16, 29, 31, 44, 46, and 59 minute markers should be shorter than the other minute markers.

Go to breitling.com if you want to see what I mean, they have a graphite model as the "clock" on their site.

The funny thing is the original (V1) BCE - the one with the missing minute mark at the 10 in the minute subdial; the one with the single-sided AR... that one HAD the smaller minute markers you're talking about. Then they made a V2 (the "Ultimate" BCE) which addressed the AR, added the tick mark on the minute subdial, BUT F'ED UP THE MINUTE MARKS you're talking about. It's almost like they did it on purpose.... :whistling: With nonsense like that, it amazes me, the job they did on the Skyland

  6. It should be. In general better Breitlings have been fully compatible since the original ti Chrono Avenger. Great pics and I officially give in. One last question though. How good is the bezel mechanism? Is there a lot of play or does it click into place?

Get it, you won't be sorry. The bezel is very tight and crisply printed. 120 "clicks" for a full revolution.

  7. Hi m8s, what a watch!!

It's big (but not a monster), very masculine, strong face, with a lot of personality, but incredibly comfortable to wear. Best bracelet I've seen and feltl. After 3 days, I like the weight very much and itis wearing is addictive. I've try a couple of others during these 3 days and after 10 minutes, I've had to wear the skyland again. With no other watch I have experienced the same thing.

Agreed, I haven't taken this one off my wrist since it arrived - except to change out the ss bracelet for the leather strap. It's AWESOME. Gonna to be interesting to see if the SA has the same effect :)

  8. I was just out at the local pharmacy, and was browsing magazines, and what did I see:

"Automobile Enthusiast" This month's topics include:

"Comparison: Replica vs Real - how do they stack up? We test the Cobra's..."

"Replica's, report on what's available and the quality...in-depth review and comparisons..."

So why is it acceptable to have replica just about anything (Tiffany "style" lamps, etc), even cars, sponsored and promoted and sold in the open, even reviewed in national magazines, yet a friggen watch is a problem and brings the ire of so many?

Makes no sense to me at all, unless of course your trying to sell genuine watches.

    RG

Glad to hear you can see at all!

I'd say something about that article really being about equating gens to an activity with the opposite gender, while reps would be the equivalent of something less fulfilling.... but I've been subjected to all sorts of anti-harassment courses at the office, so I realize that'd be totally inappropriate.

  9. Definite problem regarding GMT hand. I too have IHS but GMT hand does move properly. I cant' remember if bezel clicks, I want to say it doesn't. Gap between links is common I have it too.

I would contact your seller to straighten out.

I have the CHS version, and the bezel definitely clicks. I would expect the IHS version to have the same case and bezel, so that'd be a concern for me.

  10. yeah there's a reason i haven't been around much freddy -- been trying to spend as much time with friends in family before moving from SF to LA, which means not much free time for RWG...

i promise to be back with some new pictures in the new (sunny) setting once i'm all settled :victory:

I don't have any clever suggestions, but I'm thinking the move means we're going to see a new handle?

  11. The positive side of the credit crunch for me here in CA is the price of homes coming down. Just a few years ago, houses the size of a tuna can were going for one million dollars. They have already dropped to about $800,000. In two more years I can see them going for $500,000 -- a 50% discount!

If this thing goes on for another 2 years... it'll be about 18 months too long...

  12. Can you be more specific about USPS insurance only covering $50?

I've shipped all my USPS items w/ insurance. I had one instance of an item insured to $250 being destroyed (run over by a mail truck). The buyer contacted me, I contacted USPS, and received a refund in the insured amount. Might be different with missing items, but given proof that they delivered a run-over item, USPS paid the claim.
