  1. wow that my friend looks AMAZING! Thank you for the special thanks i appreciate it! I really miss that project, but I'm glad you finished it, it looks again amazing! Im actually looking for a case like that again to start my project again =).

So the new Yuki cases are problematic huh...too bad. He used to make nice cases.

  2. Wow thank you, guys..you guys are awesome.

so heres a little update for you guys.

I get gen crystals from my watchmaker, so I got a gen 125 put on today. And a trit pearl on it as soon as I saw someone mention it. In the picture the bars are not gen but it is now.

So right now, its got a gen 125, now gen spring bars, gen 580 on a gen 93150 VC bracelet.

Someone asked what ingravings are on this case.

its says 9411 at 12 and "stainless steel" with serial 78xxxx(only six digits) at 6 side.

So the movement is a ETA 2784 but not gen but with correct dressing?

  3. Hey guys, I picked up this from someone I know but I don't know a darn thing about it. Can someone tell me whats good(dial, movement, etc) and whats not.

From what I can see, the dial seems to be decent. The CG are shaped nicely. It fits gen spring bars and doesnt look drilled. Wonder wnat kind of case it is. the movement looks like it has a Tudor rotor but not sure about the movement. Not sure about the caseback either. Wrong tropic, and rep bezel insert.

here are some pics. I really appreciate it you can help. Thanks!

  4. wow!!! just awesome stilty just awesome. I'm really glad you finished the watch. I was wondering how it was going...I actully logged on today after a few weeks to check here to see if you posted anything believe it not. I'm still looking for a movement for mine but nothing good yet.

Wow, It juts looks so awesome. Hey, hows the case on this one? better than your first one?

  5. The only difference between a gen 580 end link and the rep 580's is that the reps have the little rounded notches on the back side for removing the springbars. On the gens, the only way to remove the spring bars is by the holes in the lugs- the backs are solid, with the rounded tabs against the case.

This 16610 on ebay has the correct 501B end pieces for this model sub:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ROLEX-SUBMARINER-SUB-W...%3A1%7C294%3A50

    Here's a gen band w/ 593 ends- correct for the 16800 and 168000 Subs:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ROLEX-AUTHENTIC-SUBMAR...%3A4%7C294%3A50

And here is the 9315 (predecessor to the 93150, c. 1960's) band with the gen 380 end pieces which are correct:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/20mm-Mens-Rolex-Submar...%3A4%7C294%3A50

Ironically the rep 580 ends look similar to these 380 (older) ends, but they should look like the gen 593's and 501B's to be correct. Rep 580's are fine, fit is OK- they're just not correct with the little notches on the backside to access the spring bars.

Thanks for the info...really appreciate it. So do all rep 580s have the notches in the back?

  6. It is a 703 tube. I installed it and I can guarantee 99% that it is gen. I bought it with another from a supply house. 1 was loose, 1 was sealed, and both in the same storage bin. The 1% I can't guarantee is because it was not sealed. If you have any doubts about the tube and want to change it out, I'll gladly take that one back. ;)

A 702 would be ideal, but any 1680 that has been serviced by RSC would have the crown and tube replaced with the 703, so no worries having a modern tube in your case.

Oh no, I was never questioning about the Tube...just my crown. I took a picture of the tube because I wanted to know if it was okay with my current crown.

I love the tube, its perfect. Thanks!

  7. Copies of the gen 24-703 crown have been around for about a year now (heck, maybe longer for all I know- it's hard to tell on a lot of this stuff). But if your crown fits your 703 case tube, I'd figure you're good to go. BTW, one of the big differences between the 702 case tube and the 703 case tube is the presence of the outside o-ring- the 702 assembly doesn't have it. It's still considered trip-lock because it has two gaskets inside the case tube and one at the base of the crown.

Your end links look fine- about par for the course on the older models. It look like you're going to have a very nice 1680 when you're done. Congrats!

    Thanks again for repling.

Not sure if this helps but heres a shot of my casetube.

  8. Wow this is awesome information. Thank you!!!

I think my case tube is gen 703 but Im not sure either. It does have a o rubber gasket around the tube and I also used to have clarks 703-0 tubes and this crown fit. This crown fits my gen tube and screws in no problem, so is this not gen?

Heres are some pics of my project. The bracelet is a gen vintage 93150 on a gen 580 endlinks..fits perfectly but the lugs are about 1mm to wide. Atleast the gen spring bars are a perfect fit for the lug holes.
