  1. Pretty much every watchsmith that works on reps is exactly the same ... Extremely busy. There aren't that many, and once the community decides to trust them, they get inundated with work. It's always going to take a while to get a response from them, and then it's going to take a long time (we're talking months, not weeks or days) to get your watch back once they start working on it.

If you can't wait 4 days to hear back from someone without posting it to the forum, then I would recommend buying something that's already completed, or learning to do it yourself. You're going to have to learn to be extremely patient in this hobby. There is no other way around it.

The best piece of advice I can give you is that you should also do way more research that you have apparently done when trying to put together any franken build. The time to start asking about what parts to buy is before you start the project, not after you've already spent money. I'm not a big Breitling fan, so I don't know if the version of the watch you bought takes gen parts, or if there are any challenges with the build as far as fitting things goes. I do know enough that if you want to swap to an ETA movement, you are going to need gen hands, or the watchsmith is going to have to modify the rep hands to make them work as the A7750 hands are not a straight swap with the newer version of the movement. Things like this are important to know before you start buying things. It's too easy to go down the rabbit hole and find out that the total cost gets out of control, or the project isn't do-able to begin with.

You're also probably going to get more help by doing your own research than a watchsmith is going to provide, especially if they haven't already done the build you are looking at. As mentioned earlier, they are all very busy, so you're not likely to get a lot of hand-holding. I'm sure there are several members that have built Super Avengers on this and the other boards. Asking someone who has actually done one of these builds will likely get you better information.

I love doing franken builds, and I wish you luck with yours. I'm sure the above doesn't paint a great picture about the process of building a franken, but it's important to know what you are up against when doing projects. They are definitely fun to take on, and there are plenty of stunning end results to be found here. There are also lots of examples where people greatly overpaid, or didn't get the results they wanted, due to poor preparation.

yeah I see what you saying.I did try to post an add where i wanted to buy a already finished franken but it was not in righ section because i refuse to PAY to post in a free public forum. That should be only for FOR SALE section or if you're a vendor here...but thanks for the info

  2. i emailed speedy and he haven't replied yet and it's been 4 days now.is he hard to get ahold of?any phone i can call him?Rex got a lot of bad reviews and even if he gets the job done it takes months from what I read in most of those posts.any info...i'd really want to get the work done but i need to speak w the person that will do the job,and ask him where and what to buy.i really have no idea.theres a bunch of stuff in ebay but i bet therea stores and vendors that have more quality parts.i reall want to build a good watch.

  3. Extremely disappointing attitude. I think the same. Reason for which I stopped replying to the OP.

contribute? because it's supposably a free public forum for people to help eachother out and i think it's not fair and stupid that you have to pay to buy something.i understand if you sell and make proffit or if you're a vendor then i have no problems with.but paying to post in a WTB forum?!?? that's [censored] and all that contributing-brainwashing propaganda is just pure crap.Am I the only one that thinks that?

  4. 95/96? They didn't make the SA back then.

As I said, do your own research of both the Genuine and the Replica market to avoid disappointment. AR is always the big tell on Breitling watches and is model dependant along with the sunken date wheel issue which is difficult to resolve.

There are some very switched on people on this forum who can spot a fake Rolex and other brands at 10 paces but your average person in the street isn't going to know.

You're best bet is to look at the M2M sales section in this forum and buy something that has been modded, that way you get the watch you really want, you may have to up your budget though.

where is the m2m forum. i'd assume that stands for man to man,i looked at in the "want to buy" section but its asking for a special registration in order to post.if i post a WTB thread here i the general discussion forum will that be ok?or the mods will delete it?

  5. ok.well i've been debating between the H factory best SA on trusty time in white or black.now the dial that they replicate is that the dial for the 95/96 year models?also it says duble AR coating, but some people point out that the newer GEN watches don't even have it anymore.i understand that it is a replica but will it be possible to tell unless you open it and see the movement.i don't want to walk around and someone recognizes the fake from accross the street lol.i get bored of stuff way to fast,i do have a gen Omega seamaster and a gen Oris....but i also have another 20 watches that i change every day so i really don't feel like paying 4-5k$ for something i'll be out of interest in like a month and ot be able to sell it for even 1/2 of what I paid for it.also it's a huge watch not a lot of ppl will buy it even if i decide to sell it...so thats my concerns.i read good reviews of people having the trusty watches for like 4-5 years and that the coppies are getting better and better.....i'm sure someone here got the exact same one i want and can post pics and chime in some!thanks tho

  6. Hello guys!New member from NJ/usa here.I'm in the market for a rep superavenger and from reading on the forums i came to the conclusion that the ones from Tw888 aka trusty time aka andrew is the way to go.now before i get one i need to know a little.i'll try post my questions briefly so it'll be easier to respond:

    1-how good is the quality

2 if u got one how long u have it for

3 how much more different is and is it easier to notice with simple look if u hold it in your hand

4 how is the water proofing

5 is there a better place with better quality product than this rather pay the extra buck but be happy

6 whoever got that watch can u please post pictures with it on your hand or net to a Genuine

7 they only have white and black available i want blue dial.but i'll end up getting the white most likely but saw blue gen dials for sale all over ebay.Have any of you guys did a swap and changed their dial on a rep watch w gen and will it work?is there a vendor repair here on the forum somewhere in the US that does it?
