  1. Check for example, PerfectClones. The pictures show crearly shorter hands. However, do not warry, pictures magnify this flaw.

    I am asking Silix if his model is still avalaible and no answer for two weeks.

    Received my 371705 from Angus and it appears to have the longer subdial hands as I hoped. It also seems to have all of the the same +/- as pointed out in Toad's outstanding review. If you are having trouble getting one from Silix, you might check in with Angus - I received mine within 6 days of payment. BTW Angus was great to deal with!

    A couple of very quick photos:

  2. I think that there is a difference between Angus and Silix versions. Small choono hands on Angus version are smaller than in the genuine/sillix.

    I didn't catch that from the photos . . but now that I go back to Angus' photos of the watch, it looks like this could definitely be true . . all the shots are from an angle so it is hard to be absolutely sure. It is hard to even know if what is photographed on his site is exactly what he shipped - guess since it is on the way I'll have to wait. Thanks for the heads up though - do you know if there was a particular member purchase/post that confirmed the angus version had short subdial hands?

  3. thanks for the info. It looks great. I do see what you were saying about the date sitting a bit high. Should I be concerned about the stripped screw issue that you have on the bracelet?

    The stripped screw thing may be - oddly enough - a common problem. Stephane recently did a review here of a new smp from PT that seemed to have the same issue with the bracelet:

    Could be a coincidence . . .wonder if other members have had similar experiences. . .

  4. Thanks, but the recommendations you gave have me chasing my tail so to speak. By-tor's review makes no recommendation as to which collectors or websites have the best rep. In fact, his review says to refer to the Omega section. Which brings us to where I am now. I used the search function and found this thread. It seems quite relevant to my current query. Which website/collector would you recommend? If you were to purchase a Seamaster Pro this week, where would you purchase it from?

    I really appreciate all the knowledge and reviews that you have all put together. This forum has been very helpful.

    Just got mine from Silix. I am very pleased with the quality and the whole transaction. Not only was the watch the best price for the current smp, but it was inspected prior to shipping, communication was very good, and shipping fast (5 days from China to East Coast US via San Francisco). Has all of the the rep issues as described above, but these are really pretty minor when considering the whole.

    Some photos and a link to my brief review of the purchase on RWI:

  5. Your watch looks great. The mods look perfect, and hopefully you found the work you put in worth it. The results are definitely impressive.

    I wish the rep factories could get a bit closer "out of the box" on this watch! I'd be all over a great version in a heartbeat. :D

  6. I think there may be a definite connection between reps and porn. Have you ever noticed some of the sweet watches the guys are wearing? I mean throwing down on the set with a Breitling Navitimer or a pimped out rolex is not an uncommon thing . . .could these be reps? Do porn guys make the kind of cash to even own a rolex, then risk getting it creampied or lost down a funnel into some unsuspecting chubby's nether regions? maybe Pugwash could respond from his experience on the sets . . . but, I'm wondering if porn production and rep dealing might have some deeper connection?

  7. I have been looking for this watch as well . . .the big issue for me is the hand length. Paul's hands (as is the case with most other dealer's versions) are too short. This is a common seamaster "sword" hand problem, but on a watch as simple and clean as the black smp - the short hands really stand out for me. Andrew's (Trusty) hands look very close to gen. - I'd go with that, but I'd contact Andrew first and confirm (or maybe even have him send you a photo of the one he will send you) that the long hand version is what you are getting. And, I agree with you on the 21j - I have some great 21j watches, and at $100 less that ETA you can afford to replace them when they die or if you must, just replace the inexpensive movement. Good luck.

  8. Thanks for the welcome everyone . . .

    @fxrandy:

    Welcome, i hope you did not buy from the others, global ect, you will find some very knowledgeable collectors here, especially in the VIP area.

    Unfortunately, I did have a few bad experiences . . .ordered a Breitling Evo from a dealer and 3 weeks later received a broken Daytona (the minute hand had come off), the transaction was COD, when I tried to exchange the broken Daytona they actually didn't have an Evo available to send me, I ended up getting my money back but it took 2 months and dozens of unreturned phone calls and emails . . .then there was my $200 21j 42.5 PO, which all in all is actually pretty decent but the crystal has a kind of hazy, milky opaqueness to it (especially noticeable at an angle). Actually, if I could I'd like to replace the crystal with a better one - any advice on whether or not it is worth doing this would be much appreciated. . .thanks.

  9. There's a guy that sells the engraved (engraved clasp is like ETA reps come with. Asian reps usually an etched clasp :yuk: ) SMP rep bracelets on eBay for $36.00 plus shipping. Some of our recommended dealers also sell them. They're usually listed under watch accessories or in the Omega sections of their sites.

    Thanks!!

  10. Hi everyone, just signed on, so very glad I found this place . . .

    I'm really just getting started in the world of replicas. I've been fumbling around with google searches and rip off sites for a little over a year now and (I'm sure you've heard this before) I am thrilled to find a group of knowledgeable watch fans, and solid dealers. In short, RWG is my light at the end of the tunnel - a very bizarre and dark tunnel built by the likes of globalreplica.com and others (not to name names).

    Anyway, we live and learn, and in the end, all that matters is how many watches you have!

    Thanks all for being here, look forward to learning and contributing, oh and, having some fun. :D

  11. @triplehd

    Great looking watch. The AR blue looks great with the GMT bezel. The rubber strap looks very nice as well - better than I would have thought. I'm definitely going to try that combination. :D

    @predfan2001

    Mind if I ask where you found your smp bracelet? I've been looking for one . . ..Thanks.
