  1. Interesting! Did you apply lume on the interiors of the pumpkin?
  2. Yes, it does: But right now it is technically considered a "fantasy" model as there are only YG and WG versions of this watch.
  3. This might be the last weekend i wear this watch before it goes to the F/S to go towards a Big Pilot. Well, still don't know yet if it will go, but it has appreciated since purchase.
  4. ...and thus, the plot thickens. I believe there may be thickness issues.
  5. Call me a skeptic. This seller is: 1) one who decides to list all his/her items private (therefore I don't know their history of selling) 2) has some selling experience, so selling a high-dollar item should warrant some detailed macro shots to express condition. If you are in the USA, then if I were you I'd take extra precautions for this transaction, especially an overseas one. Since he has papers and it appears that he just has the watch head in a picture, ask him to take a picture of the head and papers CLEARLY displaying serials on both. At least the hang-tag matches his story that the watch was owned since 1996. T serials mean 1996-half of 1997. Good thing PayPal now protects you for the full amount.
  6. I've just done some reading about LH...are they truly white gold plated on the bridges of the movement?
  7. I just thought of something... I just realized that with the GMT Master's you could rotate the bezel. And have a freely moving GMT hand. So, would you consider using it to track two time zones other than yours? What I mean is that you have your local time, the GMT hand set to something else (Like Juneau or something) and the bezel set to GMT? Am I just confusing you all?
  8. This isn't even popular as a GEN as is depreciates in value like the rest of 'em...
  9. TeeJay hit the nail on the head when he said that asking if something is fake is rude. No one needs to validate themselves based on the income they make/age/etc. IMO, just how you project your confidence would or should be determining factor for anyone. So what if you drive a old beat up crappy car but wear what looks like a $10K watch. Perhaps you don't like cars. Or you bought it ten years ago and just waiting for it to crap out so that you can buy a new one. I know I can't change the world, but I hate that people are judgmental. But one correlation that I seem to notice (at least in my circle) is that the people who always have to disclose their wealth or how much they spent on something is amassing debt faster than they can accumulate wealth. Going back to topic, I just say "Thanks," and go on my merry way when people notice my watch. Funny how I never get an engrossing conversation about watches unless if I'm wearing a Breitling and the person who initiates the conversation always happens to be wearing one too.
  10. It looks interesting...I, too am no expert, but the dial font is totally wrong in this version. But I guess it's a given in this fantasy watch.
  11. Wow. Impressive. I always thought the dealers knew the giveaway tell was the etched crown that could be visible without a loupe.
  12. I love it when people look over and try to figure out what time it is without asking me.
  13. I was wrong about the bezel...the rep bezel DOES NOT come off, no matter what method I've been trying without managing to mangle the case.
  14. I guess times have changed since last year. I remember I could get the same reps that the GZ dealers had from two separate guys, but when I was a novice buyer, they commanded the prices. When I told them I could get better prices on the net, I only paid a $25 premium average. And that was on Canal St.
  15. Hello, friend, and welcome to RWG. To answer your question, the Datora was produced before the Omega was and used an older (21.6K Vph) movement whereas the Omega uses the 28,800 Vph movement. That has been proven to be more reliable.
  16. When buying a carrera chronograph on the 'net, always check the center of the rotor. A7750's are notorious for having the "sawtooth" bearings whereas the ETA7750's have the side "indents" central on the rotor.
  17. I have not seen a rep yet that could replicate the ETA movement (251.262) used in this watch...even though it is a quartz. You see, the top-right subdial does the 1/10th second counter. So far, all quartz Link reps have two 60-counter subdials (minutes and seconds). I am confident that what you are buying is a gen. EDIT: I said earlier that F1 reps also have that crappy quartz japanese movement. Turns out it's not true.
  18. I feel proud of myself today that I finally found out that the "button" @ 9:00 on the Breitling Bentley series and some other Breitling watches that use a rotating inner bezel. Though I have a Gen Skyracer that has this function, I never dared to open it up just to look for it. As I was hoping to find english instructions for another member who was looking to use his slide rule on his Bentley, I came across this: And in case if any parties are interested, on the gen, the slide rule rotates slower than the outer bezel.
  19. No, I buy from the vendors here because at least there have been buyer reviews from people that I know and trust. Let us know when you receive the order and please snap some pics!
  20. BEWARE---reliability is a factor. Though the Datora is a great rep with some relatively minor flaws, issues to watch for is the date pointer not centered on the printed number or day/month disks might come loose and not turn properly. Lastly, the GMT @ 9:00 might be a little slow. Again, I stress the word MIGHT. YMMV.
  21. Good choice to be flying with Breitlings! The Skyland and Super Avenger are both good options for you. I'm not going to mention which one you should prefer based solely on wristsize because YMMV (your mileage may vary). They both are good copies and both pass muster @ first glance, but what both suffer from is poorly centered lume dots. Someone might chime in about how a rep Skyland may copare to the gen, but I own both a gen and rep SA (owned the gen before rep) and they are eerily close. Some things to consider when receiving the rep to get it as faithful to the gen is either getting the dial relumed or buying a gen dial (I recommend the latter option). Replacing the bezel might also be an option because the finish on the gen bezel is vastly superior in terms of finish and has a more "solid" click feel than on the rep. Again, it is unnoticeable unless if you are hardcore SA WIS. I don't know how much gen Pro II bracelets cost in the UK, but here in the states they run about $500-$600. If you are opting to mount the watch on a bracelet, getting a gen is recommended. It will fit more flush to the case. It's slightly thicker than the rep bracelet. Additionally, the clasp is much more durable (less prone to easy scratching due to opening/closing buckle) and snaps shut without modification as is evident on the rep. Lastly, a gen or aftermarket strap is HIGLY recommended. Rep croc straps are crap. I own a couple OEM crocs. They are soft and have withstood water-intensive activities. You should look into the gen calf straps as well. Only $130 and includes the buckle (here in the states, at least).
  22. Reported. Super-fakery. It's possible the seller took it on consignment and unknowingly selling a fake.
  23. I guess this is what people willing to shell out $40K on a watch want it to look like. You have to admit, though, that some people who spend that much want the look of "originality" and this and other allegedly "ugly" watches fulfill their desire.
