  1. While considering to order the Skyland rep on bracelet, I noticed a little detail on the bracelet. It's minor, but might be significant if one decides to make a "franken" bracelet by replacing the SELs with gen ones or gen links or clasp, etc... Here are two pictures below, one of the rep and one of the gen. Look at the red boxed area on both pictures. Looks like on the gen all links are angled, even then SEL. On the other hand, the SEL is not angled on the rep bracelet. At least it looks that way to me. Well, we won't have definite proof until someone receives the rep. So this is all just speculation...
  2. 'tis, she is beautiful. wear her well!
  3. Let's see your wristshot!
  4. If that picture was posted in a gen forum, I wonder why they would even bother with a watch whose flaws are well known, let alone a "blinged out" watch like that. Granted, many people are not diamond experts (myself included), but how CZ and genuine diamonds are portrayed are significantly different. Including price, the genuine bezel (diamonds) would run a couple thousand. And I'm sure that the manufacturer had taken the time and effort to place diamonds of similar color and clarity to add to the "uniformity" of the watch. CZ's; not so much uniformity. But then again, some people "just don't know" and I guess either he was a wealthy fool, or someone looking to get a thrill fooling others.
  5. Rep. Hublot logo text is supposed to be Sans Serif. Chronograph seconds needle is bleeding red paint on the "H" area.
  6. Quoted text from website HERE: "GAINESVILLE, Ga. -- A Gainesville woman has successfully sued her ex-fianc
  7. People like to snoop at work. And for some reason, it's always the watercooler idiot who likes to snoop. The guy is an idiot so he thought I was a member of some replica/counterfeiting watchdog group.
  8. Try 433 2X. That one shot was the end result of pointing a DSLR into a 10X loupe just to get a good macro shot! (worked with an 85mm lens).
  9. I'm pretty confident it's darker than the PMS 426. I know it's not the BCE, but they both use the same movement.
  10. The gen Pro II wears like so: There's no gap between the bracelet and SEL and since the springbars used the gen are of similar diameter than the hole it goes into in the center bracelet link (the diameter is slightly larger), there are no "bracelet wobble" issues that are apparent in the rep bracelets. I hope the rep bracelet is made in a similar fashion. Lastly, I hope they fixed the issue where the bracelet clasp fold usually needs to be adjusted on the Breitling rep bracelets so that it hugs the contours of the wrist and the links they are attached to. It seems as if the rep makers can't get the curvature of this part correctly. And yes, I concede that if I buy the rep, I will probably also swing for a gen bracelet on the secondary market.
  11. It looks like a good try for a rep Pro II. But like all rep bracelets, the real determining factor is how well the bracelet fits with the SEL. Something in me tells that there will be either a noticeable gap between them or the cut on the SEL isn't angled correctly. Thankfully, OEM SELs can be had if you know where to look.
  12. TMG, The first thing that caught my eye was the bezel. IMO, it's beautiful and sort-of-looks-like-maxi but in a style all its' own. Wear it well! It looks great!
  13. Well including ourselves, we are also gen owners and a great many of us also own multiple gens and rotate them. With that being said, I have a friend in the Midwest who is an avid collector of Diver's watches and has quite a handsome collection related to the theme. Of course, he has one "beater", like most of us do, but also has about 12 others that do the job nicely. He is also quite eccentric and likes to attach a story to each of his watches, and has taken them at least once on a trip that somehow ties the usage of a watch to a situation. It always puzzled me that his prized piece is a 20K JLC Diver, but his daily wearer is a Seiko Orange Monster. I never knew he was such a collector until he noticed I was wearing the Super Avenger and he immediately identified it.
  14. I suffer from OCD. And I like buying things on impulse. And I'm always very secretive to my wife when I buy watches and seriously DEFLATE the price of them. I used to buy gens like mad (once I bought three $4000+ gens in 2 days) because like shoes, you can't own just one. Now because of RWG, I find myself with the same habits. Except I don't spend that much and I don't need to lie to my wife about how much it costs. But I do have a small regret that with the money I've spent buying reps could have bought me a good gen on the TZ Showcase. But the OCD in me doesn't care. I just HAD to have it, and I had to have it as soon as it clears customs!
  15. I have a spare mainspring I can send you, pulled out of a broken Slevin. I am located in the US.
  16. This will see some wrist time on Monday:
  17. Hike, I did not notice that you have the RG version! Indeed, sir, you are correct; all RG versions have COSC certification. Speaking of special, have you seen the Sincere Limited Edition:
  18. well i hope the dealer notices that...but i tend to be fairly optimistic and hope that the dealer is the unsuspecting seller...but it could very well be that he knows what he's doing. the ingy chrono is a good rep but this one lacks A/R. since I have a fairly rudimentary writing of German, have you notified the seller?
  19. Hike, The older Timewalker Chrono had the word "Automatic" under the logo. When they started COSC'ing their watches, the word "Chronometer" appeared on the watches. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe it started in 2007.
  20. Let's not forget the long-discontinued Crosswind Special... One of the watches i haven't regretted trading for since.
  21. speaking of proII bracelet.... what it desperately needs is a diver's extension clasp. the ProI had it...why not the II? It seems like a design afterthought; because after all, the watches that DO use it are primarily in the Aeromarine series...the watches for divers.
  22. Instead of going big, big, big! I decided to go small, small, small!
  23. Totally agree, TK! Enjoy the PO! I know the feeling of acquiring the gen...don't know about you, but I get this kind of euphoric feeling that makes me wide-eyed to stare at the watch like when I am bringing my puppy home for the first time, or when I looked into my wife's eyes when I married her... And my wife just looked over when I typed this and now she thinks I'm a little eccentric/crazy. I tell her, better to have an affair with my watches than to have an affair with another woman!
  24. TK, I'm just like you. The desire, the feeling "in the back of my mind", the quality of the gen all causes me to end up buying the gen of the rep, even if the rep is a "super rep" as some people have called it. Call me a little crazy. I know my wife does. But the reps, especially those on bracelet, cannot match those of the gen. Some people might think that we might be so anal and that 0.0000001% would likely call us out, that little part in my head says, "it's just NOT the real deal!" I'm starting to feel that way with the new AP ROO rep too. I am still contemplating purchasing the one of the gen LE's to whet my appetite. Again, some proponents of the reps would say, it's "just as good", but that's it; it's "just as good".
  25. Not so! My wrists are about your size, maybe smaller. I like to wear my watches a little snug, so that the contours of the watch hug my wrist and sit right between the ulna and pisiform areas. That way, my wrists give the illusion of pulling off a 48mm watch, even though if i were to wear it anywhere else, it would look silly!
