Evening all. Gosh, time does fly. - One minute we are laughing at Jetmid and TRL's and the next we are sitting here ( many of us ) with more grey and less hair. Back from the days of V1, early now v2 seems a lifetime ago and RIP to those we have lost along the way. Maybe a lesson to us all to take what we can from each day. You mean they upgraded to what could be classed as an 'MRL' ? - Missed out on these for sure On reflection tho', if it's not a 1:1 TRL, then I can understand why they didn't do well.

Been off site for a few years - had a quick nosey at some trader sites - A7750's for over $500 Back in the day you'd buy/expect a swiss for that. - Good to see still being marketed as 'Best copy/version/1:1copy' etc. Still using my Rolex Submariner 2846 swiss I got off Tribal here in Feb 09- Provided faultless service ever since and patina bracelet scuff marks, making it look better. Still got the original case 196, 2005 edition (tho' needs bit of keywork or new mvt) Been looking at B. Bentley's for a few years, I'll decide someday. Anyway hi, to all old & new members - All watches still being issued with TRL's I imagine ? J

Hi guys, The hour hand on my Pam 196 is loose, just needs resetting on the spindle. Can I do this myself, i.e remove caseback and take movement out to push hand down ? If so can you advise how the movement comes out of the watch ? - not done this on this watch and don't want to undo something thats gonna go ping and fly under the sofa... Is this an easy thing to do or should I take it to a watchsmith - i.e what screws etc I need to undo to remove crowns etc, cheers

Years ago to get anywhere near a decent looking 1:1 there was no choice - you had to mod. A lot of members learnt this hobby and as proven on here there have been some absolute outstanding examples of watches built - all makes. OTB items now are indeed very wearable, I myself have watches from RWG back from 2004/05 which are now deemed as 'classic' reps lol - but my daily wearer for the last 2 years or so has in actual fact been a GMT II whs but I love it - looks exact how I want it too. Fact is there have been thousands of members come and go, ask a few questions, purchase a watch and never seen again - it's only a very small % who go on to modify the watches further. It is a hobby for sure - and one that over the years I've been proud to be have been a part of. Very helpful members on here and lots of knowledge. Now then theat reminds me... I must get the 196 fixed..

The rep world has moved on a lot in the last few years with some of the new outta box items being very good - many years ago it was more of a hunt to get that item and as we always see on this board are references to the 05' this and 06' that - just for a bit of fun - lets see your old reps from pre end of 06' so the newer members can see the stuff no longer available that has long since passed into the halls of time. Still on my wrist today, is the legendary 05' 196 - enjoy The old school 05' SMP 2824 The early stages of the 'Noobmariner' < early 06'

I do a thousand things lol - depends what day, music production ( club house, old 90's rave ) photographic prints, ( all and everything ) club doorman ( naah mate, you can't come in ) , project manager ( FTSE 100 company ), car tester ( nice R8 the other week ) + other stuff to keep me busy Lots of fingers in lots of pies - only way to be, network yourself in case one of them goes pop and your in the poop $$ wise. I think we all need to sit wider on the box here - It must be stated, well it was touched on earlier that these watches are being made in sub standard conditions by people earning a pitance - factorys being highly protected by people that you would not want to meet down a dark alley. the pure fact that todays rep watches have got to the standard they are shows testement and respect to those that work so hard. the very fact that for every 1 lost 'western' customer of reps there are a que of 100+ lining up ready to pay out the $$$ only pushes this market along including the price hikes> that fact will never go away. As one of the more famous cartel dealers once said "buy a knock off watch from the internet and what can you expect" I for one would certainly not like to be a dealer > they don't all ride around in ferraris and drink starbucks and coffee stations > what these guys are doing is extremly illegal - if and when caught can expect to be dealt with very nasty and would be lucky to remain with their balls in place... credit to them and for what they do for us in rep buying land Fact is very simple > buy a rep, it's always going to be a rep, quality issues on par with a big fat 0 - buy a gen and you can run through the meadows singing sweet songs flicking your hair. think of rep, think of franken > only way to go. afternoon all

Blimey I step out of the ring for a few months to see that the current stock is way ahead of anything I've seen to date Awesome 1.1 detail there, the offset Omega 'horseshoe' on the strap and the attention on the crystal reminds me of the BigRed Joe mods back in the day where we used to pay many $$$ to get some attention to detail whereas here, it's straight outta the box > amazing.... Can't seem to find it on the Cartels websites tho, oh well x-fingers we'll see this baby on the mass prod lines soon. Wear it with pride and thank you for sharing.

jst check the small print - sure it says cash and jewllery not covered - watch prob counts as jewllery if they want it too.... ?

I got 8" wrist so anything under 45mm looks like i'm wearing a button Love dress watches but they look so tiny when I'm wearing them my pam196 fits just kinda right on s/s bracelet

Update and a throw onto this thread, got mine off Tribal in Feb 09', worn it pretty much every day since, now getting a real good wear patina all over, never been called out > not that I show it off > it's just a watch. All below not directed to OP - but Gen obs. 1:1 Ultimate Full Q.C Swiss ETA No Dropship etc etc All the above are majoritive dealer waffle to help you part with your $$ Simple fact of the matter is that we are just fry in the big pond in relation to what the 'Cartel' sell - Unless a dealer has a solid reputation for physical checking over watches and has the backup of his reputation to know exact what flaws are in his watches + sells in a small enough volume to do this then I would take the rest as sales tosh. Are our Dealers fully trained in what they are looking for in terms of Q.C ? ? ? or is Q.C just "Strap"-check - "dial"-check - etc. The Rep world will never be any different - It all revolves around the Dollar signs - and to the Dealer you are only as good as your last purchase, cos for everyone one of you he has hundreds lined up to take your place. Lets welcome 2010 and to the next wave of ultimates and V.2, v.3. v.3's etc etc

lol - Don't forget what we are buying here - Counterfeit watch made by many men and women working long hours in factorys earning pitance, protected by men with machine guns and grubby rubber boots etal. Dealers will say, you buy, I post. How they wish to send it and you agree to that is good - the rest is reliant on a whole nother network of postal clearks, handlers, services. Sit back, enjoy the snow, eat a few mince pies and traaa laaaa > one day, knock, knock, Mr Postman brings you a pleasant surprise. You get to polish up a watch, smile and wear it well, all the postal clerks, handlers, services, men and women in factorys, men with guns ( complete with rubber boots ) can all breath a sigh of relief and the dealer can order more factory options for his ferrari.
