Well, I have gone Gen. I just picked up a nice 5513 from a fellow forum member and can't wait for it to arrive. I have found out (again) that the rep Sub, for me doesn't cut it. I can always find something that's just not 100% right, and I find myself lacking that Gen feel. I am sure it's psychological, at least that's what my therapist would say. I don't believe we should start policing the sales boards and telling people what they can or can't charge for a piece, let the market decide. I can list for whatever I want but if nobody is willing to pay that price the demand goes down and I drop the price. We should be careful dictating what people can or can't can't charge. Case in point, take the Mazda Miata (MX5) when it first came out in 1989 I believe, dealers were charging double MSRP and people were happily paying it, also the Dodge Viper comes to mind as well (for some strange reason we always come back to cars as an example) but that's just how things work. I used to buy and sell vintage Rolex, I would spend countless hours scouring different forums, eBay and local dealers and if I found a good deal I would buy it and resell it, why should this be a problem? Now, what I do find wrong is someone charging exorbitant prices for for a piece to an unsuspecting or unknowledgeable buyer, that is just plain wrong and it's taking advantage of the buyer. Yup, the bezel does rotate, they are and they aren't a Datejust, basically the same but a different reference number altogether. The seller is holding it for me until he get back from vacation, so I'm still thinking about it. I do like subs though and have been offered one by a great forum member so I may just go with the Sub. Yes, the bezel is why I chose this one, white gold is awesome. I have worn 36mm DJs before and they look, fine. I'm kinda thinking the bezel will make it wear a little larger as well. Well, I've decided to keep my sub and pick this one up as well. It's vintage alright, original everything, white gold bezel, original bracelet and powered by a diehard cal. 1570. Not many seen in the wild either. Not sure I want to do anything to it as I like the look just how it is. Thought I'd share it with you, a full photo shoot and review once it arrives.
