I think you're SOL.
care to elaborate? not sure what you mean but that?
I've seen that one (except the one I saw had the "open 4" on the bezel - correct for the Aeromarine series)It's supposed to be a super avenger (I think) but it's like (the one I saw) 5 or 6 mm bigger than my SA rep. You can get the SA rep for around $250, so I'd do that and use this one as a beater. Even if you could find a dial to swap, the fact that it's quartz would ruin it, in my opinion.
*edit* By the way, does your UTC actually run in 24 hour mode, or is it just labeled like that?
the UTC actually runs in 12hr mode, its only marked as 24hrs
Thanks again for your reply

hello all
i've had this Breitling for a while now and thought it could do with a make over. nothing too drastic i just want to replace the face/dial with something more upto date / accurate
its a huge 49mm across (without crown) and the chrono dials work, thus:
10th /sec @ 12
seconds @ 6
minutes @ 9
sorry about the library picture, (mine is exactly the same) my camera is rubish but it gives me an exuse to go buy a new one
so, any of you have any recommendations or ideas as to what i could replace the current dial with? and places i could get it
what i'd like to do eventually is take off the UTC dial (will probably go onto another Breitling) and put a nice chuncky strap on it.
i've just seen this thread http://www.repgeek.com/showthread.php?t=2260 and seen italiano17771 super avenger, that is the stage i'd like to get to, thats just stunning!
any help will always be welcomed
thanks

The 'golden' wheel is the balance, which regulates the watch's beat (its timing accuracy).
There are several things that can cause the balance to stop, but, most likely, considering the movement is a low-end Asian component, either the movement was never properly lubricated before it left the factory or the mainspring is defective/broken or requires cleaning/lubrication. I cannot teach you how to overhaul a movement and I do not know where you can find a service manual for it. I would recommend that you either junk the watch (it is not a high quality watch) and buy another one (the cost of repairing the movement will likely exceed the cost to replace the watch) or buy some watchmakers tools and a book on watchmaking & have a go. But if you have never overhauled a watch movement before, I can tell you that it can be an expensive endeavor (factoring in the cost of tools) and you will probably end up having to replace the watch in the end anyway.
Thanks very much for your input
so what you're basically saying is, "bin it, is a useless piece of tat" just out of interest is there a name for this movement? (apart from POS etc etc )
the actuall watch is about 6 years old and was a daily wearer until it stopped, but i didn't want to throw it away as i thought i could do something with it.
so, what could/should i do if i don't want to persue trying to fix it, as you say its a low end asian movement. could i use another movement? if so whats the recommended one? if not, anybody want to buy a SS strap and casing???
thanks again

thanks for you feedback guys, its much appreciated. any critizism can only be a good thing, right?!
allow me to answer/reply to each of you:
Don't know, how to say it in a way that doesn't harm your enthusiasm for your new toy. but... - I can see some more flaws. To be honest, I can't see anything, but flaws.... Case, crown, CG's, clasp, dial-printing, hands, date-font - everything looks a bit like a SUB - but that's all.Sorry mate, but you asked... Hope, you didn't gave to much money for it.
It was the same with me, some years ago. I bought my first SUB and was really happy with it, until the moment, when I came to compare it with other reps and genuine ones. Suddenly I knew, I was scammed
No offense meant, believe me, I have a bad conscience by writing this. But I think the usual nice-watch-wear-it-in-good-health-blabla would be unfair...
Cheers and welcome aboard,
Micky
thanks for the reply, and yes, i did ask for it! but there's no harm, as i said in my post im really getting into the whole modding scene so no worries. i didn't pay to much and its not the only reps i have. i was given these by someone who didn't want them and in total i was given one of these:
and one of these :
both of which im going to eventually "mod" as and when
and the grand total i paid for them was

depends on what type of dress you want to wear

Sweet!
looks great

hello all!
took some [very amature-ish] photos of my submariner, thought i would ask what you guys thought of it.
after doing a liitle research to find out how close this was to a real sub, all i've managed to work out is:
1. The 'm' on the end of the line : 1000ft = 300m dosn't align with the 'm' in the word 'chronometer' below2. there isn't a small rolex logo etched below the 6 mark
thats the only flaws i could see, but im sure there are poeple who could point out a few more. i've not opened the back so don't know too much abou the movment, but im planning to buy some basic tools.
i've become really interested in replicas and the whole modding scene so im gonna used this as my first "project"
anythy thoughts would be very welocomed!

Magnificent!
its plain to see its a quality watch and that the reason i've just bought one as well (pics comiing soon!)
i've got a couple of question you might be able to help me with, all i wanted to know was what the dimentions were of the watch? this will help me a out a bit. its just so i can determin if my sub is smaller than most or if i need to get new glasses!
once again, a very hansome watch!

fantastoc pictures, once i take decent pictures of mine i'll post mine up as well
open question to everyone, (and a bit of a ramdon one at that)
are there different sizes of rep subs? the only reason i ask is some 'wrist shots' pictures i've seen on this forum the watch looks quite big compared to my watch on my wrist, but i've taken measurements of an genuine sub and mine matches perfectly, as does the weight.
so do people on here have unusualy thin wrist or do i need to get new glasses!
thanks people!

Hello One and All
Thought i would drop everyone a line and say hello. Just recently got into replicas and and find the whole thing realy fasinating. I've got a collection building and so far the total of watches i have are in excess of....
.....
..... 5!
they are of varying degrees of quality, but the best ones i have are the Rolx Sub and an Omega Seamaster Co-axcel. i'll post pictures of all of them soon
im in the UK, london to be precise. so would be nice to hear from any one close by.
anyway, thats me
cheers

no thats not it..., the obvious mistake with this is the location of the crown.
i suppose if you want to be picly then the date is also wrong, but other than that its pretty good IMHO. one of the few autavia reps that have a working chono as well
no need to apologies, i'll still sleep well
