Demsey posted some useful comments, in another place. (There's a first time for everything) Here's what he said. If he's wrong, please let me know so that I can gloat a lot. Yes, that's a nice watch. Not really sure who our resident Breit guy is tho'. I know Scott prefers them. Only red flag here is what version "blank" of the 7750 is used? The cost is reasonable, perhaps too reasonable to expect the latest version of the improved 7750b1 that The Zigmeister reviewed recently, now in a GMT mod? Maybe a talking point to bring up with Andrew. Taking into consideration the Breit subdial layout (running seconds at nine) 90 degrees clockwise to the 116520 Daytona layout (running seconds at six) this movement in under the same duress as a new 116520 complications. On top of that a GMT function. More work for the movement. The Zigmeister stated in the review that in order to squeeze all available power from the movement certain lubrication points were strategically overlooked. It seems the oil film, although designed to protect pivot points in a long run of the basic movement design, created drag on the numerous and too many transfer gears to make this layout possible. This stuff is for stern personal constitutions. And deep pockets. Who will knock this pompous clown off his perch for me?

You probably don't want to be "adjusting the beat", anyway. Read The Zigmeister's tutorial on the subject before sharpening your screwdrivers...

The term "watchsmith" is tossed around the forums as if it it meaningful. It isn't. A watchmaker would simply make you the screws that you nreed. It really isn't difficult - for a man with the appropriate skills My man takes the view that he is a "watchmaker". This means that if he needs a part, rather than take the time and trouble to order the part... he'll sit down and make it. He's a watchmaker. Fully apprenticed... awesomely experienced. The trouble is.. he prefers working on clocks. The older the better. More of a challenge... spares just are not available... so he has to make every part that he needs. This is the man who made the clock (actually an orrery) that appeared in "Tomb Raider". The bill for that one was in excess of £80,000. When this man speaks... I shut up and listen. I'd love to be a fly on the wall with him and The Zigmeister in the same room... PMs requesting his address details wll not be responded to. It has taken me great deal of effort to get him to show some grudging respect for my reps. I'm not having some loudmouth newbie spoiling that for me. Sorry. But you can do what I did... find your own man. He is out there... and closer than you think. Let your fingers do the walking. On the other hand, Opticians, Camera Repair Specialists and Model Railway Shops are a great source of small screws.

@Sprockett... perhaps there is a problem... I could not replicate your results. But help me here, what do you mean when you say, "everything matches up properly at 4pm"? Can you be more specific, please? Try this: Set the main hands to (say) 4.00 pm. Set the GMT to the "16" marker on the bezel. When the main hands read 10 pm, the GMT hand should be pointing to the "22" marker on the bezel. If it doesn't... you have a problem. If it does... all is well. Happy timekeeping! Clive

Not harmless... you are being asked to clear funds through your bank account. So, once you start corresponding, they will naturaly need your bank details. You will have already written to them, at their request, on your headed paper... a letter which, of course, you signed. So they have your letterhead, your bank details and your signiture. Just think of the fun they can have with that.

What goes round... we are used to seeing pics of real watches on scam sites... now, at last, we see a pic of a rep on a real watch site. What I want to know is ... who did the switch when the real watch went to the photo-shoot. And is he open to trades?

Admin, that is truly terrible... you must be feeling awful. My sympathies. The worst that ever happened to me in MonKok was to have my mobile phone quietly pick-pocketed. But I'll be a great deal more wary when I'm there in future. It might be an idea to look out for your watch on e-bay.

Hang on to your wallet. Its in for a rough ride. By the way - the "Bond" Omega SMP GMT is a superb rep.. and you have a choice of two - identical, except one has an Asian movement, the other has an ETA. I chose the ETA from Joshua... but whichever you choose, it has to be one of the best value reps around at the moment.

@Chad... you have stirred something up, here, if only because DavidSen has a great reputation for listening to the WISs - then taking action and fixing the problems. So please post the comparison pics. I wouldn't know a correct font if it bought me a beer. But I do have a DavidSen 195. One of the reasons that I love it is for the astonishing quality of the dial print. I am sure that David would appreciate any help or references that you can offer, that might improve his product. Bill... I have been told that IP legislation is different in China. In the markets (when the police are active) you will see thousands of watches branded "CK".. (i.e Calvin Klein), whilst the good stuff is under cover. When I asked why this was, I was told that (a) the watches on offer bear little resemblance to any known CK watch (although some come close) and ( as long as they are only marked "CK", not "Calvin Klein", the police can't touch them. This may be entirely untrue, of course... but the fact remains that while the better reps remain hidden, thousands of cheap quartz "CKs" remain in plain view.

Buy it now - whether you buy the Asian or the ETA version, it is one of the best value reps around. I bought the ETA version from Jos Nana - it has become my daily wear-to-work watch.
