Does anyone know of a rep maker of the stainless steel armadillo style bracelet? Cheers

I'll second that. Recently made the switch and started buying more japanese Whisky. Some real nice blends.

Love this piece! Always say how Jubilees are far more comfortable than Oyster bracelets. They just exude so much class as well.

Hmmm... there have been many different Arabic dials over the years but I have never seen one quite like that before. I would maybe err on the side of caution.

Vintage rep: between these 2 (Sub and SD), what do you suggest?
gemballa replied to GenTLe's topic in The Rolex Area
SD personally but go with what you like most and not what others perceive or recommend to be the best etc? -

My thoughts exactly. Although, I think he may mean aluminium bezel insert model, perhaps? Differentiating it from later ceramic models.- 18 replies

Looks set to be a tremendous build mate. Still, would have probably had the MBW machined and saved the extra outlay, if Im honest.

Like I always say about travelling the globe, a smidgen of paranoia keeps you on your toes and hopefully out of trouble... Buying watches is the same. Best of luck Jonathan- 18 replies

You're very welcome.

Watched Tomorrowland earlier on. There's 2 hours of my life I will never get back! Another typically modern 'Form over function' film. All CGI and no plot. Tried but failed on a monumental scale. Although I did like Hugh Laurie's character.

Guys!! Need you qualified help on authentication DJ!

AVOID - None of it is gen mate. Although the case itself is the least obvious, the serials sit too high. Please report and save someone the anguish if this is being purported as genuine. Cheers. -

Thought I had found a bargain for a second... until closer inspection:- http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mens-Rolex-Transitional-Sea-Dweller-Stainless-Steel-Automatic-Watch-16660-/271997145486?hash=item3f544b118e No other words - completely F&$%ed! The dial looks absolutely horrid. God knows why he's put that bracelet on it either.

16660 build: How hard is it to source the parts?
gemballa replied to tienbang's topic in The Rolex Area
Awesome build. So entirely Gen? Just noticed your rep score is +666 how spooky and ironic! -
But generally there really isn't much in it. Although MMM's builds are very good the costs could soon rack up and you could be in Vintage gen territory say a nice 1601/1603.

Thats funny as I thought your profile pic was of a kidney for a second there. TBH I find Phong too expensive and think that BP SD case is good enough with some modification. As occb2 rightly pointed out triple 6's used cal. 3035 so it may be best to go with Yuki 3135 for less trouble or alterntivley correct dial feet to fit the 2836 thats on its way. I look forward to seeing the completed build and if you require any 16660 pics as reference then let me know. Good luck and enjoy. -
Fantastic write up. Really appreciate this Kime.

Easiest way to educate yourself is by getting stuck into the mountain of knowledge here on this and many other forums. Read up. There's no short cuts Im afraid. I personally wouldn't bother with a rep DJ when you can find some really nice Vintage pieces at very reasonable prices these days. Save yourself the embarrassment down at the lodge and go Gen.

I feel sorry for that baby. Assuming there is a baby inside the pram and he's not just robbed it. -
