  5. Dumb thread IMO. Don't like the fiero analogy either. You'll never get 10% of the enjoyment one gets from the driving experience of a Ferrari out of a Fiero. But a highly accurate rep? That's worth, what, 90% - 95% - 99% - ?? of the gen experience. Then how about the labor of love, meticulous Frankens?? 110% the enjoyment/satisfaction/experience of the pure gen? Maybe 125%? They're a huge part of forum. Hell they're a huge part of the vintage Rolex market over at VRF (a gen forum) too. So, whatever. Who gives a shut what this asswipe or that snapper head gen owner thinks. My mom just died a couple months back. My daughter just started preschool. These are the things that matter in life. Reps, gens, whatever. I have both, I've sold both, I'll buy more of each. And I won't think twice about it. You guys are getting too worked up here. [censored]. Sent from my iPhone using Forum Runner
  6. T - my ForumRunner app is saying there is something wrong (possibly outdated) with RWG's ForumRunner plugin. I can't attach pics as a result. FYI Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Forum Runner

  10. Hmmm interesting. I suppose the old ring thickness is too small to allow for zig to chuck it up in the lathe and turn down its OD to make it fit too. You might ask about having him about fabricating a custom spacer on the lathe. But that's time consuming and maybe not cost effective for a Franken SA. Good luck! 11. I am in San Diego at the moment strolling around after a fine meal here in Old Town, and came across this place. It occurs to me that someone in the San Diego area ought to come check it out. I'd certainly stop in and talk to the guy if I were here during open hours... Not the type of place you run in to every day.... Sent from my iPhone using Forum Runner

  19. Fantastic work. Let us all know when they're ready to ship... I sense a lot of frankens upcoming...
  20. I would agree as well and follow Red's lead on the vintagizing front... His 168000 looks amazing.
  21. Fantastic. Love the black sigma dial. I don't want to ask what that set you back. But it's an absolute rare beauty! Wear that one well . . . and I definitely recommend hands when the budget allows for it.
  22. I can take caliper measurements tonight. What I do know is that I have the version of the phong case that I prefer most. BTW, same issues with phong 16520 cases as well. There are a variety. And there too, I have the one I want.
  23. Identical, no. But dang close. For me the most noticeable thing in pictures is the lug hole location. On the wrist... can't notice much of a difference at all though.
