  1. A definite Rolex I'd say. Newer oyster with polished midlinks... probably a Datejust.
  2. For starters: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=4275 http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=4855 I've been meaning to post a crystal popping/installing tutorial (using a crystal press), and one of these days I might actually get around to it. Tools: Get good ones. I like to refer people to the timezone beginner's class where they have a basic tool kit. Don't buy the kit, unless you want the movement that comes with it. But, use the kit components as a reference for which tools to buy, and buy the ones you want/need individually. Lots of additional info is available via search, as well.
  3. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tariff_in_Ame...980s_to_present The wiki people say we have a 'low tariff policy' for whatever that's worth. Take care.
  4. So, how do we get stuff so cheap from Asia? I didn't say the US had NO tariffs. I don't think we have a whole lot of them, though.... Steel, sugar, automobiles.
  5. HAHA so you zinged me without knowing what you were doing!?!?
  6. I think he's back. I got email from him today.
  7. America doesn't have a whole lot of tariffs. We do have subsidies that are very comparable to Europe, for example though. But in recent years it has been much easier to import than export from everything I've seen.
  8. Whatever happened to "heros" anyhow? Those were better than subs any day of the week.
  9. Post ratings. You will see them right above the QUOTE and REPLY buttons in the lower right corner of any post that is not your own. Click one, and it'll be sticky. It's ..... a way to respond to posts without actually responding ..... I guess.
  10. Yea, but everybody else imposes tariffs on our (the USA's) stuff. Or stealth tariffs (VAT, etc).
  11. Nice post, SD. None of them rock my world, but I do like the "Bartorelli titane".
  12. All too common it has become indeed. Glad you got away unscathed, and thanks for the PSA.
  13. Yea, PAM has been around for quite some time. I work very close to his shop and stop in from time to time. It's in complete disarray and full of a mixture of gen and non-gen stuff... Honestly the guy really has no clue what's what from what I can tell.
  14. The 22mm all black divers strap and the black rubber with white stitching are both $175. You're thinking of a gen SS bracelet for $500.
  15. Maybe a dumb question, not being an Omega guy, but is the only issue with the gen rubber strap the cost? I assume it fits the UPO just fine?
  16. What damage is or can be caused by resetting a running chronograph? I've always wondered.
  17. Dibs on #523.... Panera you have a PM
  18. Love both, but the Zeugmas are especially nice. I've also had my eye on at least one Zeugma, but everything on their website says SOLD!
  19. Lots of similarities to 209. Light and crisp with that distinct botanical spiciness. http://wineabout.pressdemocrat.com/default.asp?item=168930
  20. Speaking of UPO links - and pardon the intrusion - has anyone successfully removed the divers extension from the clasp? The pin that joins it to the clasp definitely isn't a spring bar, and also doesn't seem to want to push out. My diver's extension is rather loose. It pops open whenever the main clasp is opened, and I'd like to get it off to try to do something to fix this.
  21. Tanq Ten is good stuff too, I must admit. But this 209 is something else.
  22. Introducing No. 209... Bombay Sapphire on the rocks with a couple olives has long been my staple cocktail. Saturday night at a wedding, the bartender turned me on to 209 - and WOW is it something else. It seemed better with a lime twist than olives as it already has an ever so slight citrus taste, but either way makes a great drink. This stuff is crisp, clean and very refreshing with a twist. If you like gin, you owe it to yourself to get a bottle of 209. I suspect you'll never turn back. After my current bottle of Bombay Sapphire is gone, it'll probably be my last!
  23. 894tom, send your watch to TWP or RBJ. Both are in the USA. This will give you some perspective.
  24. A man purse is a great suggestion.
  25. I thought the gen SMP from this 007 era was single AR? Either way, you'll not get any weird looks with double on it.... The Carrera is different of course. It's one of those that should be coated but isn't.
