Second the OPPO recommendation.... I've had one for about 9 months and will continue to live with it until Blu Ray players come down. And it's more than a pleasure to live with as the video (and audio) quality is superb.
Bouncing springs are always fun. Once you've tinkered with a few watches, you learn to cup your hand over the watch when removing certain parts so they don't wind up on the other side of the room! Mr Gagne, that's going to be a real looker when all is said and done. The The Zigmeister bezel lume on these is a real sight to behold.
I'd prefer if they were using price as a selling point, rather than market dominance. I don't like the idea of Sony controlling the market, either. They will jack up licensing fees and make the players more expensive than they need to be.
I would guess that a watch repair place would have some of these pins. And with a proper tool you (or they) should be able to push the broken piece out.
If your local watch shops don't have these style pins, I'm sure a fellow RWG member or two would have one lying around.... Unfortunately I do not so can't help.
Well I'm no Repub, but as a pragmatist I think Romney stands a great chance in middle America vs. either Hillary or Obama. The economy is now the issue of the day - likely to be an even bigger issue near November by the looks of it - and Mitt has positioned himself as a solid fiscal conservative in stark contrast to the socialists... But I wouldn't anoint Mitt just yet. It's still a race.
I acquired one recently on EBay. I purchased a used watch with the movement in it (verified by a photo of the movement through a sapphire case-back) for about $100.
The Asian 2892 knockoff would be fine and is most viable... I just meant the case needed to be sized correctly. I can put my own swiss movement in after the fact.
Yea. I think if this project done at all, it should be done correctly with a 2892A2 as the engine. Or an alternative would be the Selita SW 300.
But if it can't be 1:1, I would say don't bother.
I keep coming back to your pics and they are tempting me to buy a gen Ingy chrono!!! Maybe we can get Admin to remove this thread before it's too late!
Ah, good to know PAM 29 cases are compatible as is... Cases like the Jimmy Fu seem to need to be modded to accept a 289X. And I should have been more specific: a solution for fitting 2892s in gen Rolex DJ cases may be coming soon...
