  1. Absoultely gorgeous! I intend to have a '67 427 Stingray roadster some day...
  2. Not bad at all. Used gen prices have been on the rise.
  3. I'd say this is one heck of a build. How much do you have in to it, if you don't mind?
  4. Two of mine (prior to bezel install on the 6265) . Pardon the bezel fingerprints on the 16520.
  5. Got your emails, B. Unfortunately, I've tapped out that resource for the time being. Good luck with your project. I'm sure it'll be another masterpiece!
  6. 19" ? And you did the black kidney grilles. Nice touch. PS . . . Front license plates - they actually look good in the EU.
  7. Is this guy actually being entrusted to service other people's watches (and being paid to do so) ?!?!
  8. Probably gonna cost and arm and leg, but it does look good. I couldn't believe what these bakelites were selling for the last time I checked... 6-9 months ago.
  9. The stepped design gave me an "ah ha" moment there. It's all starting to add up.... Thanks for tracking this down and sharing, W.
  10. The SS 16520 did dip close to $8k at one point. But they've gone back up again. Anyhow, the advice you've received thus far is sound. If gen movement is what you seek, then go to TRF and buy a gen movement with the rest of the watch wrapped around it.
  11. Gotta follow the trend and go with a Rollie....
  12. Nice pics, and great information to have! Between ball peen hammers, punches, and blow torches . . . or some combination of all the above, these unskilled mainplate "mods" never cease to amaze. Sometimes it's hard to figure out what their "tools" of choice actually might be!
  13. Ya, and Ubi has an antiquorum link to an actual auction sale of one of these rare birds.
  14. No, the pawn guy is incorrect. There was Rolex Day Date in SS. Research it on VRF and see for yourself. :-) Ubi made frankens of a real Rolex.
  15. It's very rare and has been seen auctioning at obscene prices. Most people - even Rolex people - don't know it exists. Can't fault the pawn guy for saying it doesn't. Check out ubi's: http://www.rwg.cc/to...ate-plus-a-day/ In fact, the things the pawn guy says are all very, very reasonable even if known by rep maniacs like us to be less than 100% accurate. He's simply reporting what he knows and has learned from his experience owning a pawn shop. I'm sure most of what he sees is canal street stuff.
  16. Well I'll tell ya.... there'd be no "learning" involved if I had that piece... I just plain love it!!
  17. Very nicely executed!
  18. I think it could withstand most daily beatings.
  19. LOL... exactly!
  20. Huh, I like the lug bolt look. But they kind of make the pin holes on the side of the lugs look dainty. A few more pics:
  21. Takin' the wif out for a nice dinner and hotel tonight... also takin' the AP, but leavin' the kids with Grandma!
