  1. Ah, yes. The Fiddy. This watch is a beast. You need 26mm straps for it. Since you didn't mention a price range I'll just throw out my two favorite strap makers knowing that they might be a bit expensive for your tastes... http://www.vintagerstraps.com - The guy's name is Micah and his straps are incredible. Easily the softest straps I own, and yet also among the thickest (a desirable quality to me). I have a Copperplate and a Carrier. They're both fantastic and would look great on a Fiddy. http://gregstraps.blogspot.com - The guy's name is Greg Stevens. Probably the most popular strap in Paneristi land right now. I have a Crazy Horse and have a black on my wishlist. Greg straps, IMO, are second to none. The Crazy Horse is my work horse strap. On the low end, you can look up BOB and DON straps. Lower quality, lower price. Enjoy. Straps are as big an addiction as PAMs themselves... Maybe bigger.
  2. I had this happen once. For me, it was one of the movement clamp (or whatever they're called) screws not being tightened down all the way so that the rotor would intermittently get caught on it. I tightened down that one screw and was good to go from there on out.
  3. I probably have an Noobmariner insert or two that I could dig up if you want one....
  4. Davidsen's AR is nothing to write home about. Your best bet would be to have a Jimmy crystal single side AR coated when we do that AR run.
  5. kruzer - this will be an interesting project to watch!
  6. Thanks for the update, Lello.
  7. Don't worry, M. We won't hold that against you.
  8. Yep, yep. Deployant all the way.
  9. People from the USA are full of comments. Use the same customs description we use to send watches to Canada: "Broken wristwatch for repair and return to sender". But if this watch is going to China, then all bets are off.
  10. So what's the watch you've got on in this pic?
  11. Bravo, ND. And with that, it's back to watches for me.
  12. Gorgeous!! Lello datewheel on the 063? I contacted Michael a few months ago and after receiving his quote, decided that the 063 rep hands were plenty good for me. Of course his price has increased significantly, I think, since you got yours. Also, the set didn't seem to include the GMT hand which is the more obvious hands related flaw on my watch anyhow...
  13. And here, ever since the Monica fiasco, I've thought he had terrible taste... I don't like the look with that suit, but that watch is still at the top of my list for gen purchases....
  14. Sounds good, delta. I'd like one of these straps also. The only thing holding me back is that I loath having to muck around with the Ingy bracelet!!!
  15. Indeed he does. And so do I. And so does my neighbor. And so does.... The funny thing about us Americans is that we're proud to live in a country based on the principles of a limited free republic under which one person's rights - my rights - stand up against the masses. So that when Rosie O'Donnell and her presumed million moms (plus TTK?) think that they can march into Washington and produce a petition which will take away my 2nd (or any) Amendment, that is absolutely baseless and absurd. My rights, his rights, my neighbor's rights are non-negotiable. And thank God for that.
  16. Good stuff, flav!!
  17. You can have my Noobmariner cyclops if you want. The mag is good, but it is a tad larger in physical size than the gen cyclops, as you probably know....
  18. Agreed. American public academia is a bastion of liberalism. So really, it depends on what we're terming "bigoted". Because if he means in the traditional sense, then absolutely not. However if he means being at the forefront of promoting reverse discrimination policies, then without a doubt.
  19. Right. This is a person who would with 99.9% certainty obtained a gun by alternate means. The fact that he was free to do so is the most concerning to me in light of today's news. But even so, you can't reasonably argue that court decreed mentally ill imminent dangers should come up clean in a background check.
  20. Absolutely. And here today we find out that the VT shooter was declared mentally ill and an imminent danger to others by a court in 2005. This is an individual who should have never passed a background check and been allowed to legally obtain his weapons. But, you're right. Even had the system not failed, it would have only been *slightly* more difficult for him to get a gun. Although, I'd argue that it wasn't the background checking system that failed first and foremost, but rather the judicial and social services systems which permitted this imminent danger to others to be out freely shopping for guns in the first place...
  21. Yea, pictures are needed at this point else he ought to written off a shill. My 196 with The Zigmeister-applied C3 looks identical to all the gens I've ever seen.... including the one below.
  22. See you around the corner, The Zigmeister!
  23. You bet.
  24. Have you ever been to diversity training? It's one-sided anti-white-male propaganda. People have told me that, e.g. Indians are prone to discrimination against whites, but the government won't touch that with a 10 foot pole. Yet they will interpret common sense business decisions as "discrimination" when they work to the detriment of a member of a protected class. Reverse discrimination is rampant in public sector hiring. Personally, I'm largely indifferent to diversity, except when it causes problems.
