  1. First introduced here: http://www.rwg.cc/to...this-ones-mine/ A few more pics of the piece . . .
  2. Up and Adam and posting at 6AM eh, BT? Good man! Nice Ebel!
  3. It's monday in many parts of the RWG world... And I know what I'll be wearing when it's Monday here:
  4. Illuminated by RWG on my monitor...
  5. I was tracking a gen bakelite auction on Ebay a few weeks back in the hopes it would fall under the radar. The piece was absolutely cherry, and I thought it'd be a nice change of pace on this piece to swap to from time to time. Well it ended at something like $1600 and I didn't even bother bidding. Oh well. I'm quite content with this one exactly as is.
  6. Every now and then in this hobby, the right piece just lands in your lap without any thrill of the chase. A different experience than the norm, but one that can be enjoyed all the same in the end. I think Ubi had known that the final resting place of this one would eventually be in Chieftang's watch box. And so it is... The only difference today is that thanks to a little Zigmeister lathe work, this one is now wearing a genuine bezel to compliment the bevy of other gen parts already put in place by Ubiquitous himself. A quick photo of this sleek, sexy and timeless piece as it stands today: More to come...
  7. Thanks, bosk. No, it's a cartel sec@12 case.
  8. I'm afraid the only question is.... which one next??!
  9. Thanks guys, it really is a stunning piece. I'd even say sell off part of your collection to build one if needed, because you won't regret it. The problem for me is to resist building another one!
  10. Spec sheet: Gen white themes dial Gen white themes hands Gen crown, tube & chrono pushers Gen bezel gasket Hamilton LWO 283 w/ DD module, service by Zigmeister Custom Zigmeister movement holder Custom sec@12 casework by Zigmeister: - Thin down the bezel - Thin down the caseback - Relocate the crown tube, offset below pushers - Much more to make it all work
  11. AP Royal Oak Offshore, White Themes. Executed on AP Bands SCUTA20 with silver stitch.
  12. This just in from the one and only Zigmeister's workshop, where our master watchmaker has completely outdone himself this time! Quick preview shot with the pocket cam, more pics to follow... A friend who had admired this picture earlier in the day said it best, "The Offshore is just a whole other level of haute horologie sport watch." Pictures simply cannot do this thing justice. The dial just a drop dead gorgeous silvery pearl that doesn't begin to come through in the photos. I'm practically ruined for other watches now. Simply wow.
  13. Dom your watches are so popular that you've run out of photobucket bandwidth!
  14. It sure does, doesn't it! The crown and tube is huge - as strange as that sounds.
  15. Anyhow.... I'm surprised to have not seen Freddy333 chime in here.
  16. Fantastic build... just remember my name when it's time to liquidate. :-)
  17. Have a good one, T. . .
  18. Yep, that's the first thing I noticed, too . . . I.e. the original OEM pushers on my 16520 are tighter and smoother than the Cousins cheapos.
  19. This one is very close to the genuine article... Then again, most of it is the genuine article:
  20. LOL. Damn, 3 seconds I'll never get back.
  21. Well it isn't the length that's a problem. Clearly the gen service pushers are longer than the original from back in the day. See above pics. Now I'd be surprised if Ofrei and Cousins were selling something different (how many sources can there really be), but I guess I could give the Ofrei versions a try.
  22. Ah don't worry, I was at the Moving Pictures and Permanent Waves tours. I wasn't very old, and needed an adult chaperone.... but I was there.
  23. Yes. I don't think the finish on the Cousins/Ofrei version matches the gen either. Next to a gen crown, the difference is pretty apparent. And the feel in the hand is just too chintzy for me to believe Rolex would put these pushers on their products. I'll go in for a pair of gen pushers if you want a partner in crime. ;-) I should mention, that I too have seen pics of the gen service replacement parts, and the Cousins version looks good in comparison. Another set of gens here:
