  1. Very common. And I think most reps are slightly undersized. I've never seen a WM9 V2 in person, but most other 16610 reps I've ever seen are slightly off in proportion. I took my 90's era TW Best sub to an AD once (*gasp*) and was commenting to the sales woman how I liked the newer models without lugholes. We put them side by side, and she didn't know up from down, but it was obvious to me that the rep was a hair small. Now I only have a gen 16610 sitting in a safe, and no reps. The gen 16610 is actually starting to show some return on investment now too... As strange as that sounds. But sellers are now commanding inflated prices almost everywhere.
  2. How about a gen 16200 (used). It's a man's watch that isn't very manly - from before the current era of bloated Rollies. It'd be nice on a woman.
  3. G ? ? Is this someone from the forums? MeFixWatch4U@yahoo.com ?? I dunno man... Why would you steer someone from The Zigmeister to MeFixWatch4U AKA "G"? It just seems a bit sketchy.
  4. Clearly she has issues.
  5. Perfect strap for that watch!
  6. One of my favorite Tudors bar none!
  7. Yep. You want to "sneak up" on the final length... cut, test, cut, test...
  8. Oh, I thought you were asking about the gen at ~17k. LOL. The rep is worth $500 assuming the sec@12 movement is one that can be trusted. And that, I think, is a big if.
  9. In taking a closer look, I think it is genuine. I remember being suspicious at the time I acquired it, but having seen many more gen bracelets come and go since then, I am not so suspicious anymore. I'll let you know if I decide to let this one go.
  10. These really are excellent out of the box reps ! Is it too soon to call rep of the year?
  11. Yea, glue to the spacer ring. I played with dial dots once and wouldn't again.
  12. What do you want to pay? I have a "gen" that came with a gen case a long time ago. The bracelet is in great shape, but had been "restored". And by restored, I assume the seller meant that some after market parts were added in. At this point, it's very hard to tell, but it is certaintly at least somewhat genuine. I'd let it go for a good price, assuming I can still find it.
  13. No this absolutely will be a kick butt build with this dial as the centerpiece. I'd certainly be thrilled to have a franken with a dial like this.
  14. Booteeful! The only way to fly with these vintage Daytonas IMO... except of course for a NOS T dial. But let's be reasonable!
  15. yes, bearly.
  16. hmm i only count 75 bears
  17. OK, so we've moved from a Bush/Cheney scandal, to a coordinated bipartisan US government scandal at large. As someone who lives here, though, I wouldn't give them so much credit. And, intellectually, I don't think there's a simple single explanation (read: conspiracy theory) that covers all cases. Some liberals and some conservatives, on both sides of the aisle, were set up to profit from it. Some liberals knew they had to go along with the war effort because their constituents would throw them out if they didn't stand up for our country, while other liberals knew they could get away with opposing the war. And I wonder how many of our reps really believed in the "democracy" line of reasoning.
  18. Well, sure. He ran successful large scale businesses in the private sector prior to becoming president. He also ran unsuccessful businesses. He had a wide breadth of experience, and saw first hand how business practices can succeed and fail. I suppose all the liberals on the Senate Intelligence Committee who deemed the intelligence credible in 2001 that identified Saddam an imminent threat were in on the Bush/Cheney business opportunity as well?
  19. Well I think term limits are part of the problem. For example, the unfortunate solution to our monetary and fiscal woes right now is in fact a prolonged and unhindered depression. That's just the fact of the matter. We need a legitimate period of retrenching: liquidation of malinvestments, redeployment of resources, and rebuilding of savings. AKA, a depression. Now let's say, by some miracle (or perhaps by fiat), a flotilla of politicians arrived on the scene ready, willing, and able to do just that: abolish the federal reserve, allow interest rates to float, etc, etc. Really tighten down the screws. This would all set us in the right direction, but it wouldn't cure our situation over night. It'd take time. Probably much longer time than any term limits. See, the problem is that it won't be easy. In fact, it'd be painful. Very painful. So when the new brand of politicians showed up in the next election cycle promising artificially low interest rates, easy credit, public funding of entitlements and large scale make-work projects, and lots of inflation (AKA all the things that caused our problem), they'd be voted into power in a heartbeat. It's a vicious cycle. Austerity and responsibility will always be trumped by promises of freebies made to the masses by the politicians. And short term limits really just mean that no meaningful course of action will really ever be allowed to take full effect. The people will always just look to the politicians who promise the most for the least.
  20. The problem with buying your first Panerai . . . is that it won't be your last Panerai, and you'll soon feel a whirlwind of addictive desire sweep you away forever more.
  21. How dare you be so beautiful! BTW, whoever said that shark strap doesn't work... I happen to think it couldn't work better! Looks great!
  22. We'll I don't know, but I do think not having Flash Player sucks. I bought my son an ipod touch, and this was the first exposure I've has to any iProduct... Well practically every website he likes seems to use Flash, and the ipod versions are worthless. This doesn't seem to bother many people. But it did suck explaining to. 7 year old! LOL
  23. I blew it by missing the baot on this one. And by the way when were you going to show us pics of those fine pieces you have there in the winder??
