Pls, Tell us more... I'd love to hear about the process of thinning the upper part of the mid case. I'm assuming a lathe is needed?

Its been a little while since this thread had any action, I was wondering if anyone of you had the chance to explore the construction of those from the new maker, I like the 1665 the bezel looks way better.
