How much will pricing be?

I think it will be a tough sell for this 000 dial at your typical $450 usd for dial and hands especially when gen dials and hands are out there to be found and the gen watch as a whole watch can be found below $5k.

Agree with the prior poster that you would be better off making rarer dials like what you had been doing that are not as easily attained. Even the cheapy replica ones aren't that bad now.

I honestly do not think you can compare Rolli's dials with any replica dial.  I personally own one of his dials and hand sets and its utterly amazing...

I do not agree with your statements above.   I think you need to do a little more homework before you criticize Rolf's Dials.

 

Buy one and then let me know your opinion...

Hi guys,

 

Sorry I have not spending any time here lately.  My health is holding well

at the moment.

 

I am spending a lot of time getting properties I own sold

so my kids do not have to handle the business end.

 

I owned and managed my properties for over 30 years.  I finally

turned everything over to a management company due to my

health.

 

As far the the pens go....  I only made about 10 pcs.  with Genuine

Rolex Dials.  Panerai153 sent me some dials so I gifted him a few

pens.

 

These pens are of the highest quality.  The cost to make

this pen with my labor is over $425.  It takes about

25 hours of labor for each pen.

 

I will NOT be making any more due to costs to high,

too time consuming to make.

 

If anyone is interested,  please get with me.  I actually

was planning on not putting them up for sale because

in 10 years I honestly think they will be worth $2500 usd.

Hi MIKE,  I TALKED WITH misiekped,  HE PREFERS TO ONLY WORK ON ROLEX WATCHES.   THE SECRET IS,  DOMI WILL DO MY AR, BUT HE DOES NOT WANT ME TO ADVERTISE BECAUSE

HE HAS SOME MUCH EUROPEAN BUSINESS THAT USA STRESSES HIM OUT.   I HAVE KNOWN DOMI FOR MAY YEARS.  PLEASE KEEP THIS QUIET.  THERE IS A HTCH AND I AM CONFUSED AS TO 

WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT.  DOMI WILL NOT LUME ANYMORE WATCHES.   HE TOLD HE THE LAST 2 LUMES HE DID,  THE LUME DID NOT STICK TO THE ORIGINAL LUME AND IT FELL OFF.  I QUESTION

THAT THE PROBLEM IS ONE OF TWO THINGS...HE EITHER DIDN'T TAKE THE TIME TO SCRATCH PART OF THE OLD LUME SO THERE IS SOMETHING FOR THE NEW LUME TO STICK TOO.  OR MAYBE

my very close friend Rolli, who also lives close to Domi.

 

I am anxiously awaiting his reply.   I know he is the AP MASTER,  CASE CLOSED..

Mike ... goes without saying that we're all sorry to hear about your illness. It's good that you are finding things to do that you enjoy while you are going through it.

 

As for your project, your are unfortunately up against some things that don't typically go hand in hand with short timelines. Getting rep watches worked on is not a quick thing.

 

The toughest part of your desired project is going the be the AR. I'm not sure I know anyone else in the US that does it for reps other than Vac. As others have mentioned Domi is about the only other one stop shop I know of that can do it all, but he's across the pond.

 

Swapping the movement and the re-lume shouldn't be that bad from a time perspective, you just need to find someone that has a time slot that works for you. Just about any watchmaker can swap a movement. PBdad and Cwazy (over on RWI) have both done good lume work for me (in addition to Vac).

 

Just as a shout out to other members ... if you have a watch that has the work done already and you can be without yours for a bit, think about helping Mike out. Swap your completed watch for his parts (and some cash for the build?) and get the build done again with a more relaxed timeline. I'm not an AP guy, so I can't help, but would definitely offer if I had one to swap.

have to ship it Domi in Germany.  I know the correct way to get it there safely.  I would have used back until he couldn't take any constructive  criticism and pounded with his religion.

No one has EVER BEAT THIS DISEASE.  Vac promised me I would not die if i just believed.  Come on Vac,  and stay away from religion.   No wonder he does not post much...lol

Hi guys,  I am rarely  here anymore due to illness.  I have decided to pre-occupy me from my pain.

I have chose to purchase 2 new watches.  Both AP Divers, 2 different divers.

 

These both will arrive with asian 2824 movements

 

I just purchased 2 fresh Swiss 2824 movements from Switzerland..

 

I am looking for a great nodder who can do the following.

 

1)  Install the ETA Swiss Movements

 

2)  AR Coat the Crystal and Cyclops

 

3)  Relume the dial

 

 

I will NOT use Vac for personal reasons and problems i have had with him in the past.  I spoke

to Vac yesterday and it took me 30 minutes to get him to commute to a certain time window.

 

Then he started preaching religion and telling me I can stay alive, when the reality,  my disease

kills all.  I have multiple myeloma. and its NOT CURABLE. Vac should not discuss religion when

he doesn't even know my religion.

 

On top of that,  i know a lot of old timers here.  And the all email me direct.  i have been told

by 3 members that they had to return watches to Vac because of problems.

 

His AR Coating is superb,  his lume work is some of the best, his watch making skills are actually

not consistent and customers have had problems.

 

I hear how he has a new watch maker.  i would assume that the new watch guy is doing the servicing,

 

That might be a plus.  He worked on 2 of pans years ago,  they went back twice and he could not

get them right.

 

So anyway yesterday i thought I would a Shot, this is a nice order for someone.  AT first he would

not give me a delivery date. His answer was,  I will get it done as soon as possible.  Well I know 

on the board who had watches at his place for 4 months, and some watches had to go back 

to re-service and fix the problem.

 

So when I Vac that i heard form some senior members that he is getting returns, and I said with

life timeline,  I can not afford that.

 

So what do you think he did?  He said "DO NOT SEND YOUR WATCHES, FIND SOMEONE YOU 

CAN COUNT ON",  and you know what...i am glad he did it because if I have movement problems

and he keeps the watch 60 days plus 15 more days for re-dew.  I do not have that kind of time in 

the short period of life that i have left.

 

Then he went on to say..."Why are you playing with watches when you are so sick"  If he would

have been here i probably  would have  smacked him.

 

Then he kept going on with his religious stuff, and he told me I was doing it wrong to spend alot

of time in prayer.  He said thats wrong, if you would believe, you would not die.

 

Let me tell me stats on my disease. NO ONE HAS BEAT THIS DISEASE.  IT IS INCURABLE,

BUT OBVIOUSLY VAC IS UNEDUCATED AND HE SHOULD NOT BE TALKING TO CUSTOMERS

TELLING HIM HOW THEY CAN LIVE.  MAYBE HE SHOULD QUIT WORKING ON WATCHES

AND OPEN UP HIS OWN CHURCH...ESCEPT I DO NOT WANT HIM OR ANYWAY TO SAY

THE WAY I HAVE MY RELATIONSHIP IS WRONG.   THIS IS PRETTY SICK STUFF.

 

 

NOW I KNOW WHY HE DOESN'T TALK MUCH..ANYWAY,  IF ANYONE CAN HELP ME WITH

A MODDER FROM ANOTHER FORUM, THAT WOULD BE WELL APPRECIATED.  THERE IS ALOT

OF TALENT ON ALL THE FOURMS.  MOST MEMBERS STAY WITHIN THEIR FORUM FOR MODS,

WHICH IS GREAT BECAUSE WE NEED TO SUPPORT OUR MEMBERS WITH TALENT.

I haven't been around for quite along time due to serious illness.  Feeling a little better once in a while

so I thought I would buy a watch or two since its been three since I have left.

 

I want my AP Diver which was stolen.

 

I see the Cartel is offering 2 models,  and correct me if I am wrong.

 

1)  I see the Noob V5, and I see the JF v7

 

Can anybody chime in and give me their advice as to which watch I should purchase?

 

If there is another I missed, Please let me know.  I am not going to get into modding like

I use to as its just too much work for me now..

 

So I guess you could say,  I am  looking for that best one out of the box!

I have ordered a watch from timesshop.net it went through to a pay service called payease, which I have heard many people online say is a scam. The order status is still awaiting payment. I then ordered again, but through another payment gateway, in which i didn't put in any payment information, and now it says that that order is preparation in progress. So now I have 2 orders and I don't know if someone is going to buy all kinds of things with my credit card, and I'm not sure if I'll receive my purchase. The weird thing is I have heard that this website is legitimate on this forum and it is a trusted seller. If anyone has ordered from them I would like to know how you paid and how the payment went (any problems like mine) and if anyone could give me some advice on this problem it would be greatly appreciated.

You should not have a problem like I told you before with Timeshop or their Credit Card Handlers.

You should be fine.  All new buyers are very skeptical.  I see this everyday.

Any plans to do any fountain pens that can take a #5 or #6 nibs. I bet they would sell like hot cakes over at fountainpennetwork.com. If you just would do one I would buy one.

I can pretty much order any Boch nib you need,  this is not a problems.  I have I think 3 fountains posted,

and I sold one already...  I will check out your advise.  And i have to agree with you totally about one day at a time~

Sorry to hear this, and I like many others wish him all the very best in his recovery.  My mother is currently dying from terminal cancer, and is just a matter of time now.  No bone marrow transplant possible due to her bones being riddles too

SSTEEL.  you are right,  there is no cure unfortunately and the marrow

inside the bone eventually deteriorate slowly.  

 

I try to keep my head up high every day...and just keep making

 pens as it's very time consuming, except artistically rewarding...
