  1. I picked up a 28a on the forum the other day, and I was told I must contact sssurfer to get a cyclops. His PM box seems to be full. Does anyone else have any contact info on him?

    Thank you.

It seems that his last login was on March 6th. He could be on vacation so be patient and he will come back shortly!

  2. Out of curiosity, is the GMT hand running on a 24 hr sweep with the main hands? If it's not adjustable at all, that might well be all it will do. If that is the case, and it's not even synched to the correct time zone, I'd suggest stripping the watch, re-setting the hands to 12, pulling them off, putting the GMT hand on set to 12, and then reassembling. Sorry to hear you might've got a lemon... :(

    Thanks TeeJay,

I confirm that GMT hand is running on 24 hr, following the main hr hand (two complete turn of main hr hand = one complete run of GMT hand).

Problem is that is not adjustable for a different time zone.

    Ciao

  3. Hand should be adjustable if it is a 2836 GMT. It doesn't adjust in one-hour increments like 2892 but it should be readily adjustable. :( Sorry to hear it.

Thank you Kruzer, in fact I also have a OM ega SM GMT, very cheap one paid on I-offer less than 50 $ but very precise in movement, and it's really easily adjustable (GMT hand) in position 2 and counterclockwise.

Now I'm also asking to Jay to confirm me if I'm wrong or not to operate the adjustment.

    Ciao

  4. I just got yesterday a so called "PAM S076" from Jay. This is a GMT model with modified ETA 2836. I had a look and a complete search in the forum but I'm not able to adjust the GMT hand. I'm afraid that this is not adjustable one because I put the crown in position 2 and if I turn clokwise it change the date wheel, if I turn counterclockwise nothing happens. :(

Some one can explain me if the hand is not adjustable or is the mov broken?

    Thanks guys!

  5. I've just had the A21j version of the Chopard MM via Josh's lightning inter-continental service. It is just about the cheapest, serious rep available and for the money it really is a great buy.

I've never seen the gen or the more expensive version (and quite probably never will) so I can't compare it directly to either of those, but on its own it stands as a pretty decent looking watch. The stainless steel case looks reassuringly solid, is well finished and generally gives it a look of quality. The markings are very bold and are possibly the most legible of just about any watch that I've seen. They contribute to what overall is a fairly simple, yet striking appearance.

I believe that the strap is somewhat slimmer than the gen but it is nevertheless pretty substantial at over 6mm thick. Its 'tyre' markings make it look distinctive and different and for me it wore very comfortably. There is a pretty complicated deployant buckle but in practice it worked well. I can even report that its timekeeping is better than any mechanical watch I have owned-it is, so far, dead accurate straight out the box. The one problem has been the quite astonishingly noisy rotor, but this has been completely silenced by the application of a dob of grease. In all, this is a great value watch.

    Hi Gregers,

I also like this watch but I need one info from you.

Could you please check and tell me what is the word engraved on the crown?

It is "1000 MIGLIA" or "1000 AILGIM"??

Many thanks for your help and enjoy your new toy.
