  1. Thanks BooneShine! Vintage watches are a bit small compared to todays standards, but the square cases feel like they wear "larger" I think. It could just be me... good luck in your search. Cheers!

Thanks abzack! Yeah, I have tiny wrists so everything looks bigger on me. Just started my square zenith hunt. Didn't realize how many different kinds of dial/hand combos are available. Yours is definitely one of the best I've seen so far that. Boom!

Finally finished my yuki ranger project! Gen 1002 case. Asian 2824-2. Yuki dial. Clark minute hand, raffles hour and second hand. Phew! What pain in the booty... and already I wanna make another one with a date complication. Anyone know where I can find a better dial?

I've had this for many many years, and surprisingly it keeps excellent time. Nicely sized, too, at 43mm diameter. Semi-pocketwatch case is interesting, the back pops off and reveals a hinged caseback covering up a lovely 15j mov't!

If only watches could talk... This one has many stories I bet.

Beautiful! Something inspiring about a watch with battle wounds that keeps on ticking.

  4. Ok, I admit I've been holding back. But it's worth the effort to make the trek to the watch fortress high in the cliffs above the house to retrieve my crown jewel for this thread. She rarely sees the light of day, but.... some things are worth it.

This was a long time coming, and it was pure luck that landed this all-gen beauty on the shores of Chez Nanuq.

So without further ado, I give you...

  5. I think it is Epoxy 330. I'm sure there is nothing special about that brand. For application you should be able to use anything with a sharp point on it. I use wooden skewers we have on hand from the local Asian market :).

Sweet thanks! I bought some. Epoxy 330 that is... Also got a cheap set of oilers as per@ezed1 's suggestion. Now I just have to find a dead ETA 2824 to dedicate as my dial feet gluing station.
