No I did not know that R symbol stood for valjoux. This is currently on ebay right now. You may want to take a few minutes and look at the description of the watch. This seller has nice feedback score but I'm always cautious. I will never stop praising you for your feedback as this is a time sentive matter.

I need all vj72 experts. Its very similiar to a vj23 visually which makes it hard for me to determine. Which 72 series is it? Do you think it will fit into dw's 72 case. Because that will it's destination. I've read a little on chuck's review on these, but would like some more specs on this particular one.

Hey manuel
It looks similiar to this one. I think the coronet on the one I'm looking for is a bit less bulky than this one...more slim like gen and I think it has pure white subdials..the dial here may have pure white subdial its kinda hard to tell.
btw check your pm box.
I've contacted dw to see if he had any previous versions of his 6263 dials laying around. He only shows me what he currently has. I like the position of the coronet better on his older ones. Just keep looking I guess.
Brad
Do you teach a spelling class The Zigmeister? Teach it somewhere else. what position are you in to correct my spelling. Any why so defensive? It's nice to have someone in my area that does mod whom I can speak with via telephone. I'm going to make it short... your reply was insensitive and garbage. If you don't have any advice to offer me, ignore my post. Keep your smartass comments to yourself. You don't run the show..just your mouth.
Thanks
Brad
maybe someone figure out or know what I'm talking about. Because i have a vague recollection of what rbj over in the RWI modding section told me. He explain that someone sent him. some winding plates or bridges that made the POS mystery movement more stable. It's definetly a shacky movement but what he was telling me is that whatever this thing is makes it more sturdy thus prolonging the life. I was supprised that rbj lives near me and we corresponded this evening via telephone..lives about an hour away from me. So I'm going to get him to do my vintage 6263 project work for me..what a relief..no sending off..maybe physically taking it to him and watching mod
Its one of those things u go through..trials and errors..I'm sure you guys felt like this on your project from time to time..I'll evetually get it done..but u have those moments of despair..u know..
I've had my dw daytona for three weeks now. I removed the mystery sh** machine and now my watch is left with a void to fill. I have desperately looked for a donor but yet to find one. I'm getting tired of being completely consumed by this watch. types of movts with the correct sudial spacing and dimensions are limited to what...3 or something for this watch. I'm too the point almost were i will settle for another mystery movt.
I need some help and you guys are the only ones who know the vintage daytonas the best. Not trying to over dramatize this..but I'm at point where I don't know what to do..I want my daytona working..I know about the gen 23 option and 72..but sourcing them is too time consuming for my everyday scedule..
I'm having a hard time finding a gen vj23. the price seems to be approaching that of a 72 it seems. I'm at a dead end. I work all the time which doesn't allow me much time to search. I would like to snatch one soon so i can wear my daytona.
I agree with the both of you. This movement is toast. the only thing is to get a gen vj3..but from what I'be seen they are half price of the vj72 and harder to find. why not spend the extras for a 72. I think that is what i am going to do. But if I do that, it means will have to go for dw's 72 case kit. Maybe I can sqeeze it in the one I already have. I was told right..this is an expensive and time consuming project... types of movts. that can be used are very limited too. By the way..is broaching athe hands pretty easy??
Thanks freddy. Im missing the crown wheel. I think thats the wheel that winds the mainspring. I took the protective plate off and it wasn't there. I didn't transport the movt. anywhere..so I couldn't have lost it. could that be possible..manufacturer left out important component..or is it a mistake I made?
Plus I broke off the return bar..so Im f**cked for the moment.
