I actually realised that a lot of my watches weren't getting enough/any wrist time. Some were impulse buys that just didn't 'do it' for me. I decided to invest the money received in modding the ones I really wanted.
Omega Speedmaster for me too. Loved the Apollo moon landings as a lad and when I found about the watch's connections that was it, I had to have one.
First 'windy up' watch was a USSR made Sekonda for me 16th - still got it and it's still running well!
Excuse my ignorance here but what exactly is Thanksgiving for? Is it to celebrate the first Europeans settling in North America? Is it a religious event? Just curious.
Anyhoo, happy day to all you lot on the other side of the pond. Do Canadians have Thanksgiving?
I've been waiting for ages for a good Spitty rep. Pity the black face rep has a white date wheel...
The silver faced ones are OK, but miss the 2 dots either side of the 12 o'clock triangle.
@Mr1973 never heard of a Quad 10 but it looks good.
Yeah, you're right, good job it's gone anyway. With the quality of the reps available here it's all to easy for some poor non-WIS to think he's getting a bargain on the Bay
It was for a 111, but I've got the Crazy Horse for that (put aside until Christmas though )
But will have another beauty PAM to choose a strap for soon...tbc...
Ah, that'll be the one I reported to E-bay. Pleased they've pulled it.
We know we're buying reps, some poor mug could have thought he was getting the real deal - unless he studied here
My favourite watchmaker is Omega, good history, nice line of models and generally good looking, understated watches (mind you I can't stand the Constellation...)
But I do like certain PAMs but don't like the Subs at all. I like the simplicity of the dials (don't care much for the Chronos, GMTs for this reason).
Hi,
I've had this 2006 PO from Precious Time for a while now and decided to give it a new look. I first came across a pic of this strap on TZ on a Speedmaster and thought it looked really good.
I think the strap gives it a real tool watch look and the strap has a quite matte look. It naturally falls into a distinct curve and I had to hold it down flat to take the shot. At the lug end the strap is quite thick but tapers to the ends, I'm sure a deployant buckle would fit. I'm now on the hunt for an 18mm SS Omega buckle
It was very easy to fit and the filled in lugs are a great touch.
The watch is a 42mm with Orange numerals and black bezel. (I tried a gen on in an AD today and the main difference to it I could find was the incredible AR coating on the gen, the gen's bezel didn't turn as smoothly as my rep )
Here's a couple of 'art house' B&W shots for you...
