  1. I've got a gen 45mm PO and it's outstanding. As has been suggested you could go for the new Black Bond or maybe the 2254 as a compromise between the Bond and the PO. I don't like the sword hands on the Bond. However I'd just say go with whatever one 'sings' to you and ignore anyone else's opinion, you'll be the one wearing it! Have fun choosing, there's nowt like owning a gen!
  2. Oh don't we all <sigh>... I settled for a 'birth year' 145022 cal 861 Pre-Moon, handily 1969!
  3. @ dluddy If you want to be really anal about it you should get the rehaut ring painted black to get rid of the 'silver wok' look too. Grear looking rep by the way though. I had one of those and it inspired me to get two gens...!
  4. My 2006 3570 and 1969 145022-69 both have the logo on the crystals.
  5. Hmm, funny you should mention looking for a gen PO... From my searching so far
  6. That's great news Zigg, rest up and get well soon.
  7. Knowledge, franken projects, entertainment, international aspect, generally friendly vibe; oh and watches...
  8. Mine did, but it's with The Zigmeister getting ETA replacement D&DWs etc.
  9. Congrats, my 3717-05 is at the 'Canadian Spa' as we speak. Wishing The Zigmeister a speedy recovery!
  10. Ouch, that looks bloody painful, I hope you have a speedy recovery mate!
  11. I've always steered towards quality rather than quantity and kept my reps to around half a dozen. I've purchased reps in the past that I've liked so much I've bought for the gen. Financially I've kept pretty sensible, selling on the ones I don't wear/ can release funds for other purchases; been into the rep game since RWG1. I'm rationalising my collection for a big project but the ones I'm keeping have been modded as much as possible and had trips to a well know Canadian 'spa' I think I've nearly got pretty much my ideal collection, just one to go....
  12. Aye. I had some great watches from EL, he's a miss around here...
  13. The Moonwatch was my favourite rep, and I ended up getting the gen twice! Now the gen PO is drawing me in...

    IWC Mark XVI

Many congrats on the Gen, I've given up on a rep Mk XVI ever appearing so I've gone for a 3717-05 which is waiting for it's Canadian Spar treatment!
  15. Ah a sad day, TRC was my starting point too, along with RWG 1.
  16. Does anyone know if there's a reference page on a website that details Rolex boxes? I found one in a second hand market and would like to find out the rough year it was used, which model watch it was used for etc. I'll post a pic asap. Thanks in advance.
  17. On a recent holiday in Canada we hired the smallest camper van the company offered which turned out to be a 5.7l V8!!! (I nearly passed out when I opened the bonnet to check the oil and saw the sticker on the cylinder head) In Europe it'd be a 2.5l diesel. Currently I drive a 2.0 TDI VW Golf that comfortably does 50+ mpg (Imperial). I've noticed people are driving less and/or noticeably slower now.
  18. Top review of a top watch. My 7753 196 with The Zigmeister lume is possibly my favourite watch :-)
  19. Just got mine from PT who's in the UK - it's a beauty!
  20. The Ziggmeister has spoken!
  21. Probably my 7753 PAM 196 Re-lumed by the Ziggmeister and sporting a DON CF strap (Funnily enough the only pic of this I have is a lume shot...!) It has a real sports/tool feel and heft yet is stylish enough to pair up with a suit and tie. The fact that the mvmt is a 7753 and what the gen uses really appeals to me; this is a keeper.
  22. That neo-vintage Ingy is the mutts nuts
  23. Ditto for me too. I'm quite liking the Omega ATs for a stealthy low-key look as the wife isn't into bling.
  24. Hey Zigg, enjoy the summer mate. I treasure the pieces you've worked on for me, they are the highlights of my collection. Totally understand your decision. Cheers!
